Tulu/Kannada
Hi there, a discussion has started here due to some recent edits by other editors at Shilpa Shetty that possibly seek to insert a POV as to her native language. After I looked into the article history and discovered that it was your contribution, I thought you may like to join the discussion. Regards, Ekantik 02:13, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Konkani language
Pleas do not fight a script war on the Konkani Language page. Leaving the refference would not have hurt anyone, rather it would have served as proof to anyone who had doubts.
Neither was reordering necessary, it serves no purpose. The reason I had put the Romi Lipi name after Devanagiri was becasue they are widely used in the state where Konkani is the offical language, although Kannada is without doubt the most popularly used.
Let me gently remind you that writing comment like the one you did can only get you into trouble. --Deepak D'Souza 07:56, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- If you'd seen the refs that had been added, you'd have seen that Kannada is not only the most popularly used script, but its users outnumber others nearly 3 to 1. It is not fair that references be asked just of Kannada script. If you want, move those refs to the scripts section. Refs look ugly in the lead. And if refs can be asked of Kannada, one can ask for refs for each of those languages listed there. Sarvagnya 08:01, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Amazingly, while I was writing a message on your discussion board, you were writing one on mine. So I decided to come back after lunch and put this one. References do not weaken our case, rather bolsters them. I think that the 3:1 ratio is not correct, but anyway. W.r.t the post you have put, there is no section but I took the capital letter as deleniating a section. Search for the line "Konkani has had to painfully negotiate a controversy about the nature of its relationship with Marathi". It wasn't meant to be original resarch but it ended up that way because I had quoted it out of memory.Anyway now I have provided a link that puts it in detail. As far as User:Maharashtraexpress asking for a citation, I was surprised that he had asked for a citation rather than delete the line as I thought any Maharashtrian Wikipedian would. Nothing wrong with it , after all it was a controversial point, and he was well within his rights to as per Wikiepdias policies. Lets stay decent as long as the other party stays so. --Deepak D'Souza 08:44, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- No.. what I meant was... I know about this so called disagreement about Konkani's status vis a vis Marathi. But my point is(as your ref also confirms) that this whole controversy about Konkani's status is, but a making of Marathi nationalists. Scholarly opinion does not question Konkani's status as a language in its own right. So please reword the paragraph to mention that this theory that Konkani is only a dialect of Marathi is a figment of Marathi nationalists' imagination and nothing else. At the moment, the article seems to be giving a sort of legitimacy to what is basically BS. Sarvagnya 09:24, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Origin of Karnataka's name
Sarvagnya,
How about moving this to Etymology of Karnataka ? Do we need a discussion on that?
Thanks, - KNM 21:34, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- That thought did cross my mind. But I felt that the article talks not just about the etymology but also a fair bit of history. So I moved it to "Origins...". But I am open for discussion. Sarvagnya 21:47, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

{{Lingayat-stub}}
Hi - I see you have recently created a new stub type. As it states at Misplaced Pages:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Misplaced Pages, new stub types should be proposed prior to creation at Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any reason why this stub type should not be proposed for deletion at WP:SFD. And please, in future, propose new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 05:49, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Barnstar revert
Hi, just wondering what the rationale behind your revert was. I posted the misnomer details purely as an interesting (and factual!) anecdote. Check out the Barnstar page for the source. Thanks.
--mikaul 00:58, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
It's always difficult to prove a negative. The only reference to the Misplaced Pages:barnstar being a barnstar is on the page on which it was created. This star has a practical use, where barnstars are solely decorative; following a thorough search, the consensus on the talk:Barnstar page is that the creator of this page was in error. The acid test will be to find manufacturer(s) of these tie-plates, I suppose. The first thing they would tell you is that they are designed to be used for brick structures, not wooden barns.
Thanks for sorting it out, anyway. --mikaul 19:45, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Tamilnet
A mediator, User:SebastianHelm, helped create a project on the Sri Lankan ethnic conflict. One of the things that was discussed there by Sinhalese, Tamil and outside editors was the categorisation of sources. The proposal which I think was ultimately accepted was that Tamilnet was a "Qualified source", so it can be cited but there should be a qualification "The pro-LTTE Tamilnet". Please see Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Sri Lanka Reconciliation#Classification of sources. This has not been consistently done across all articles because many editors are not active at the moment, including myself. -- Ponnampalam 23:44, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

wrt: my discussion with utcursch
Hi,
I don't see the need to discuss the issue of the Konkani name on Mangalore article anymore. You have shown that you are not interested in facts but would rather make up your own in order to justify your biases. And then you say that it is going round in circles.
Northest states: What is the problem with Hindi names? After all Hindi is the official language of India. I feel that representing English, Hindi and State official language(and secondary official languages if any) is a must. Take a look at this article: South Tyrol and you will know what I am talking about.
Reg the Shilpa Shetty article you have not opposed the Kannada name , but have linked it to the presence/removal of the Hindi version.
I agree that I am not always polite. MaharashtraExpress has seen that too. If I dont show good faith it is because I am tired of battling with jingoists who couch their biases in polite sentences. I have been writing thousands of words to justify the inclusion of ONE word to the Mangalore article while a few jingoists hover around and revert any changes that do not agree with their world-view.
As far as politeness is concerned your "Swahili" dialogue in reply to Yessrao is really mean. Think about that. --Deepak D'Souza 05:54, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Devaneya Pavanar
Hi Brother,
Why did you removed some content from 'Devaneya Pavanar' article. Those contents are from the book "The Primary Classical Language of the World" and the research carried out by European Lingusitic Scholar 'Cald Well'. Please read this book and Cald Well's research to know about this. This book is nationalised by Government of India.
Why did you removed some External Links, those are Government Website Links.
Tamil Virtual University and The Centre of Excellence for Classical Tamil (CECT) are Indian and TN Government sites.
Tamil Nation is the site maintained by world Tamils, which is source of all Tamil related information.
Please don't remove those reliable informations from the article. Rajan 20:04, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Filmography of Rajkumar
Hello Sarvagnya,
Great job on compiling the filmography of aNNaavru! The table looks awesome.
I see that, Blnguyen has moved it from Rajkumar(filmography) to Filmography of Rajkumar, which actually sounds perfect.
By the way, the list is a bit incomplete. There are only 199 movies mentioned, while the total should have been 207. For example, if you see Devatha Manushya, it is not coming as 200th movie, but it is. I have the complete list, and more details on each of the movie.
Will work on it soon.
Also, I am thinking, is there any possibility of nominating this as a DYK. Thanks for creating the article! - KNM 16:13, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Do you have proof that these are all sockpuppets, before we block them indefinitely? Simply holding the same opinion on the same page is not irrefutable evidence. Besides which, sockpuppets are allowed, as long as they are not used to violate 3RR, avoid blocks, or vote. Straw man arguments on talk pages aren't such a big deal. Kafziel 17:50, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- Sockpuppetry is obvious. Please take a look at their contribs. They are all busy blanking particular content and have all taken birth in the last few hours. One of them was warned for 3RR and immediately a new account appeared. And every new account reverts once or twice and then another account appears. After a couple of accounts they even tried claiming a consensus on the talk page. They have even blanked content on the talk page. Its obvious socking. Sarvagnya 17:55, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Regarding Lingayats/Veerashaivism
For your kind information, please do not delete articles related to Panchacharyas, and do not claim Basava has is the founder. We have sufficient information on Veerashaivism/Lingayatism existing long before.
Your welcom for Helthy discussion,

Dear Sarvgnya,
I have not spoilt anything, tried to correct the wrong things. In case of need we are ready to give you all the data, so say that. Origin of lingayatism, and also How old it was, It is not just found in 12th century. These are the seroius mistakes done on this site, for the history origin of the lingayatism/Veerashaivism. Just i am trying correct it.
Hope for a positive and constructive replies. Regards, Veeresh Hiremath —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Veereshhiremath (talk • contribs) 06:22, 24 April 2007 (UTC).
Note from Veeresh
Dear Sarvagnya, There is nothing like a vandalism, I am follower of both Panchacharyas and Basava. But most of the contents say that, basava is founder it is cent percent wrong and also it is bad as part of history, we refer articles written some third party, they even do not know about india/culture religion.
Thanks for your valuable effort, web site looks good. May be there are the things, those may be even true, needs proof and the things they have a proof but not th true.
I may need your valuable time for communication. As a religion/Dharma is a vast thing, as for proofs concerned, it seems that Hinduism again history of india is written by biased people. We will have a discussion, i need to add value to the information, at the same time, no one would be heart. We can have constructive ideas and hidden and suppressed truths come out early.
As i will be out of station for around 10-12 days, i will not be able to reach you frequently. Will talk to you, later. As i am new user to the site, please ignore previous mails and we will discuss it.
But I am 100% sure i have solid proofs to disprove the some of the things contributed to this site.
Thnks in advance, sparing time for me, Veeresh Hiremath
DYK nom on Bidriware
Hello,
Thanks for creating the article on Bidriware. Just for your information, I have nominated a DYK on this article, by having the following hook.
- ...that a special kind of soil from Bidar fort is an essential ingredient in making Bidriware, a metal handicraft of Karnataka, India?
Thanks, - KNM 21:04, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. Let's wait and see. Sarvagnya 21:07, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

Note from Veeresh
Dear Sarvagnya,
I have one suggestions, as for as hinduism is concerned mythology plays a great rule. When one can say the basava is the incarnation of Nandi why not we include mythology behind Veerashaivism, that is of course is the first part whenver there comes lingayatism thats too, arise of panchacharyas from sthavaralingas.
If you do not agree with this, then again the the god shiva himself is the mythological figure. and what we are mentioning is contradictory.
Then why do not we include mythology behind veerashaivism/Lingayatism, that is about panchacharyas as first chapte or section on this article.
Regards, Expecting constructive reply,

Karnata and PICTURes..
Thanks for the response on the Karnataka page.. But a lot of my pictures have been misused before.. Used in calenders, sold as posters , etc.. Which is why i put the FOR WIKIPEDIA USE picture.. I thought i'd show some more of Flora and Fauna around.. I'd prefer if both watermarks remained.. I dont mind anyone using the pics as long as my watermarks remain.. So its upto you, you want to keep the pictures , keep them, else its out.. I cannot put up unwatermarked ones for the reasons i've mentioned above.. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jayanths (talk • contribs) 13:21, 29 April 2007 (UTC).

Warning templates
I noticed your warning templates on Venu62's talk page. I wanted to point out, Misplaced Pages:Don't template the regulars. Please consider discussing the issue or going to other dispute resolution routes rather than posting warning templates. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 00:07, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- WP:DTTR applies to Venu62's warnings as well. Both of you are regulars here. These warnings aren't helping much with resolving the issues. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 03:21, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Removal of content
I noticed that you have unilaterally removed content in Tamil language article. You removed cited content about Tamil's influence on Sanskrit here. You removed cited content about early inscriptions in Tamilnadu here Could you care to explain? Thanks Praveen 19:24, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- Read whats already been said and what will be said on the concerned talk page. Sarvagnya 19:26, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- Please reach a consensus in talk page. If we keep, your 1000 year claim, then it means that we give importance only to Herman's work. This will be grossly unfair to other scholars' work. Thanks Praveen 23:15, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- None of cited material were removed in my edits yesterday. I think it is you who should have had the courtesy to reach a consensus first before

Personal attack
You have called the other editors (which includes me) as trolling on articles like Halmidi & Rastrakuta Dynasty in Talk page of Tamil article . If you do not either explain your uncalled personal attack or apologize for remark, I will be forced take this issue with admins (I am not using warning templates as per DTTR mentioned in above post).
