Vishwabrahmins (sometimes Vishwabrahmins, Vishwakarma Brahmins, Vishwakarmas) are a sect or community in India who are the followers of Lord Vishwakarma.
The Vishwabrahmin gotras are also mentioned as Sanaga, Sanaathana, Abhuvanasa, Prathnasa and Suparnasa, which correspond to rishis named in the Yajur Veda (4.3.3), and are further divided into a total of 25 sub-clans (upa-gotras).
The Vishwabrahmins are divided into five gotras or exogamous clans, each identified with a traditional occupation: Manu (blacksmith), Maya (carpenter), Thwastha (metalcraftsman), Silpi (stone-carver) and Vishvajnan (goldsmith).
