==South Carolina television stations==
Hi. On what basis did you decide that lists of on-air personalities at TV stations are non-notable/non-encyclopedic, and that the links to FCC data for individual South Carolina Educational Television stations should be deleted? Thanks. ] 21:58, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Scapegoat_(band)

While this was sometime ago I am curious as to why you deleted the "Scapegoat_(band)" article. 69.247.77.67 21:48, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

colonies.com

Hello Fang Aili. I wanted to request a reason why you deleted my submission ? I have provided factual information. Is there anything that I am missing that I need to add? Thanks for you help as I am new to Misplaced Pages.

Traciepietila 18:46, 20 June 2007 (UTC)traciepietila Jun 20, 2007

Another admin deleted that one--the reason given was that it does not assert notability. Misplaced Pages has certain guidelines for web content. You can read about them here. Cheers, Fang Aili 13:39, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

deleted article wikiphobia

Madam, Thank you for your quick and sane response to my question concerning my deleted article wikiphobia. I've read through the articles on Misplaced Pages concerning what doesn't belong on Misplaced Pages, and reasons most articles are deleted.

Still, I feel the subject meets the guidelines for wikipedia articles. Your own page links to a wikipedia article for the internet slang term real life, and that wikipedia article has links multiple other articles written on slang terms such as meatspace and other frivilous internet slang terms. Should other responsible Misplaced Pages contributors delete these articles?

wikiphobia is a widely used term (just google it to see) and I believes it deserves coverage.

Please reconsider my article--inall fairness.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrishibbard7 (talkcontribs)

If you can show that "wikiphobia" is used widely by mainstream media, then perhaps it merits an article. (But at 88 unique G hits, I do not think you'll be able to do that.) This is the difference between the other terms you mentioned and wikiphobia. Thank you, Fang Aili 13:43, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Are you asserting "meatspace" is "used widely in mainstream media"? Or are you only willing to risk deleting contributions by newbies to protect your liberally-applied administrative privs? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrishibbard7 (talkcontribs)
While google isn't the end-all of notability claims, "meatspace" gets some 400 thousand Ghits. I therefore surmise that the term is widely used. I could of course be wrong, and if you would like meatspace to be deleted, you are welcome to propose it for deletion with WP:PROD or WP:AFD. Thank you, Fang Aili 22:35, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Deleted page

03:19, 20 June 2007 Fang Aili (Talk | contribs) deleted "Uniwares" (advertising)

What exactly makes you think this page is/was advertising? And in which sense it is significantly different from pages like Barracuda Networks? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Uniwares (talkcontribs)

Existence does not merit inclusion. Barracuda Networks might need editing, it might even need deleting. But Uniwares was advertising, and I happened to see it and delete it. Please see this page for details on why this was deleted. Thank you! --Fang Aili 13:46, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Then probably all of those (among others) need deletion too, according to your definition? Uniwares (talk · contribs)
I really don't know. I don't have time to go through them. You are welcome to nominate them for deletion if you wish. (See Misplaced Pages:Deletion for details.) You might also be interested in WP:COI, which states that if you have a close connection to the subject, you probably shouldn't be writing about it. Thank you, Fang Aili 17:46, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Well, I rather pledge for a undelete then. There are perfectly valid categories for articles about companies, actually dozens of categories and hundreds of company descriptions, which may even sometimes sound like advertising to the unknowing. But I believe that it is perfectly within the goals of Misplaced Pages to describe an enterprise with its doings without making it an advertising. Thank you very much. 201.78.236.116 17:20, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Voyager Edge

Fang,

You recently deleted my page for Voyager Edge. It was created to add additional information to the topic "mobile agent". On that page you see a reference to Aglets. We provide the same (and more) functionality as Aglets and feel people interested in "mobile agent" will want to know about all the platforms that provide this functionality. Is it more appropriate to put an external link on the "mobile agent" page? Since Aglets and Voyager Edge have existed for the same amount of time, what allows one reference and not another?

Recursionsw 19:53, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

It was deleted because it was written like advertising. Misplaced Pages does not allow such articles. Thank you, Fang Aili 19:55, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

beloffed

beloffed why have you deleted my article 'beloffed, and recorded it as nonsense, when it is a well known saying in the Midlands in the UK? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zahraauk (talkcontribs)

Looks pretty nonsensical to me. With a whole 20 unique G hits, I can be reasonably sure this isn't a well-known saying anywhere. Thank you, Fang Aili 20:17, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Glendale Youth Orchestra

I was wondering why you deleted my entry about the Glendale Youth Orchestra. Other youth orchestras are allotted pages on Misplaced Pages, and I do not see why this one is any different. Is there anything in particular I can do to "assert its notability"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Glendaleyouthorchestra (talkcontribs)

You can read the music notability guidelines here. Cheers, Fang Aili 20:24, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Chinese Names

Thank you for fixing the page I created for Zhang Zhenwang to reflect the proper structure for Chinese names. I have fixed all links to his page, as well as the page I created for Liu Kai. One of these erronious links was on the page for the Chinese national baseball team, which makes me curious/concerned that all of the names on that page are incorrect...but I have no way of knowing as I have no experience with Chinese names, and no one with expertise has caught on... thoughts? Jsh726 18:57, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

There are a few general rules. Family names are virtually always one syllable. So for instance Zhao Hongbo -- you can be reasonably sure his family name is "Zhao". (Zhao is written with one character, and Hongbo with two ("hong" and "bo"). So if you see a Chinese name with two syllables in front, you can be pretty sure it needs to be switched around. Names that are just one syllable-one syllable are a little trickier. I don't have enough exposure to recognize feminine names from masculine (just like we'd know that "Michael" is a male's name), but if you have a Chinese friend, s/he would be able to tell you instantly. Another way is to check some Chinese sources (written in English), like sina.com, but that's not always gospel either because sometimes they will try to conform to the Western (and incorrect) way of naming Chinese people. In sum, it's a bit tricky. Thank you for asking and having an interest. :) --Fang Aili 00:34, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for the tips. I did some research, and from what I could tell, all of the names were flipped. I think the article was created based on a World Baseball Classic roster on a US page. I corrected them, but would you mind giving the page a glance when you have some free time, just to double check me. Thanks again! Jsh726 14:12, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
It looks pretty good at first glance! I will double check in the next few days. Thanks! --Fang Aili 14:39, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Datalantic

Fang,

Why did you delete my article 'Datalantic'? It can't be advertising, the company is defunct. The company did, however, play a significant role in the creation of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. There are many other potentially self serving references in the Vietman Veterans Memorial Wall article but Datalantic isn't even mentioned.

Regards, Serverside6

Upon second reading, you're right. My apologies! Will restore. --Fang Aili 14:39, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

GENRE ONLINE.NET

Talk:GENRE ONLINE.NET Jump to: navigation, search WriterR5 14:35, 29 June 2007 (UTC)WriterR5WriterR5 14:35, 29 June 2007 (UTC)GENRE ONLINE.NET has been cited on Misplaced Pages as a resource for films Misplaced Pages has noted and used review content in the citations such as is the case for The Juniper Tree where it specifically states under external links - Review by Mark A. Rivera at Genreonline.net. Other examples that show the site as being a source of reference used by Misplaced Pages include the 2004 miniseries remake of Salems Lot, where the link at the bottom simply states "Another review with pictures", my interview with George A. Romero is specifically on the top line under references on Misplaced Pages and cited as so " ^ http://www.genreonline.net/GENRE_ONLINE_Interview_George_Romero.html" Also Carvan Of Courage: An Ewok Adventure and Ewoks:The Battle For Endor both use my review at GENRE ONLINE.NET as external link references under the heading "A review of the DVD" for both of them.

If my work is worthy of being referenced as a top line reference as is the case with the heading under George A. Romero or the External Link references like The Juniper Tree, the remake of Salems Lot and the two Ewok films then why would not the site itself be worthy of an entry on Misplaced Pages since it is a resource cited six times already, is a site that has been around for nearly eight years, and there is nothing I wrote that I consider to be SPAM. In fact other websites like The Digital Bits have citations on Misplaced Pages with the Editor's name Bill Hunt and no one calls that SPAM. If I wanted to inflate my feathers I could go on about my NY Times Interview or list every famous person I've interviewed personally for the website.

There is nothing that I have wrote that is dishonest, self promoting, or cannot be backed up under direct examination. If there is a rewrite suggested to make it more in line with Misplaced Pages's style, please advice me and I will make the changes or anyone who sees fit among the Misplaced Pages staff and Editors, etc can change it on the site. I feel that after eight years and actual references made by Misplaced Pages itself as well as my own honesty and directness in my posting, GENRE ONLINE.NET should be allowed to remain online at Misplaced Pages the same way The Digital Bits and other sites noted are. Thank you.

Creag MacAllannaich /Khraeigh

Was wondering if you could tell me the content of this article and why it was deleted. Stanley99 21:09, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Please provide an exact article title. Thank you, Fang Aili 03:34, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

The article was called "Khraeigh". I believe it linked to the page "List of Scots" and the person "Creag MacAllannaich (Khraeigh)(born 1974), Champion Amateur Boxer" Stanley99 15:15, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

It was deleted because it did not assert notability. Thank you, Fang Aili 00:26, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Deleted - Harveys Point

I created a brief summary before coming back to edit the listing to provide information about the hotel for guests at my upcoming wedding there. No particular reason for putting it there, but thought it would be nice to have a wikipedia listing. I also think that given there are listings allowed for Hilton Hotels, Marriot hotels and the Europa Hotel in Belfast to name but a few, I think it is highly unfair that this one has been removed.

Irishjp 19:06, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

It was very short, not even one complete sentence. It also doesn't assert notability. Thank you, Fang Aili 00:26, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

I have recreated the page as something more substantial, but am still being threatened with deletion. I don't believe this to be advertising, just a history of one of Donegals most renowned in which I will be having my wedding. I certainly think it is not guilty of anything differenet than other hotels listed on Misplaced Pages, as mentioned before.Irishjp 10:42, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Irishjp: The main problem with the recreation is one of copyright violation: as the deletion tag says, the text is lifted virtually verbatim from the hotel's home page. Additionally, the article as it currently stands is effectively an advertisement, which is inappropriate. I also agree with Fang Aili that it's not sufficiently notable for Misplaced Pages. (Whether or not other, similar hotel entries are similarly non-notable is beside the point.) Please see WP:NOTE and Misplaced Pages:Notability (organizations and companies) for more info on this. -- Hux 11:35, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of Sigma Phi Omicron

Can you tell me why you deleted my entry for Sigma Phi Omicron and listing it as spam? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jlisi3437 (talkcontribs)

LuShamel

why would you delete my article on LuShamel? How could you not let me post something on one of the most important terms created in LA? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clint2007 (talkcontribs)

It can't be that important if there are absolutely zero google hits for this term. Thank you, Fang Aili 21:07, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Why do you delete it?

Because something doesn't exist yet and you find no google hits for it means I can't create something? Doesn't seem to be in the spirit of WIKI...I'm referring to a cocktail recipe whats the big deal? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaptain.sparrow (talkcontribs)

Bedlington Ironworks

Could you tell me why this article was deleted on 14 March 2007 19:46? It has an interesting part in the history of the railroads as the place where the first successful rails were invented. I have no knowledge of the contents and the article appears to have been deleted twice so one may have to get back to the original contents. Chris55 08:42, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

It was deleted twice as being too short for an article. Please let me know if I can assist you further. --Fang Aili 13:35, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Possible reconcidereation, please wall burglar

"Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism..."

Dear Fang Aili, I appreciate what you and your colleges are doing. Misplaced Pages is indeed an extremely valuable asset to everyone from the striving college student to the highest CEO of a major company. I believe that the information found on Misplaced Pages, due to its easy access needs to be not only factual (thanks to you and others like you it is of the highest standard, despite the popular opinion of the public that it is not), but also very abundant and diverse. Wall Burglar, the article in question, is a very regional subject, and not much information, if any would be found on the internet via Google search. I can certainly see where you are coming from considering it vandalism, and this is a true testimony to the fine filter of the dedicated Wikipedians such as yourself, unfortunately Wall Burglar is a special case that must be reconsidered. Please, if you consider it appropriate could you bring back this special article, it would mean the world to not only me but the entire community of the small town of Ola, South Dakota. Wall Burglar is a very special part of our city. Thanks again for all you do for this wonderful project of Misplaced Pages Sincerely, Sasquatchjr., and the entire community of Ola

Ok, I'm going to assume that you are not just messing around, and I will explain why an entry on the wall burglar, as you describe it, is not appropriate for Misplaced Pages. First, Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia, and as such, should contain articles on notable subjects. It is not an indiscriminate file of information. The stick figure MS Paint pictures are also not appropriate. Thank you and have a great day, Fang Aili 17:47, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Angband and disambiguation

I understand what Stemonitis is getting at with regards to his questioning what should be disambiguated. However, I whole heartedly dispute his claim that the game Angband is more relevant in current usage than the place named in Tolkien's work. Although no one else from the game article camp seems to be weighing in on the debate, it would seem that a poll may be needed to reach an agreement. Yes, I realize that in the scope of things, that this is completely a matter of minutiae, but to those of us who have spent the majority of their life (which is, in my case, about 28 of 35 years) reading, researching and studying Tolkien's work as well as the analysis and criticism thereof, I find the issue quite irritating and borderline offensive. The game in question isn't even a game licensed for sale from what I can tell. It's a low-fi game done by someone with a basic knowledge of how to code, on par with what someone might create for a 100-level college computer programming class final project. I'd be surprised to find that any permission was even asked for (or granted) by Tolkien's estate to use the name Angband for the game. And there is a debate on its importance/relevance on Misplaced Pages? Not to mention versus one of the greatest writers of the 20th century? Ryecatcher773 18:12, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

In case I wasn't clear, I do agree that Angband should be what's currently at Angband (Middle-earth). Honestly I wouldn't mind the status quo either (using a dab page with both listed). The point of contention is "What are people more likely to be looking for?", and there is no easy answer to that in this case.
Being a Tolkien scholar, would you help expand the article? I have read The Silmarillion but I am sure it appears in the Histories also. It's probably in The Children of Hurin also (which I own but have not read yet!). --Fang Aili 19:17, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Of course you were clear. I'm just trying to solidify alliances in what might be a futile battle, and you seem to be the top ranking officer. It is, of course, my full intention to add to the Angband article, and the Wikiproject Middle Earth overall. Time can be an issue for me, as I have a young son to look after while his mom is away at work (and I work opposite hours!) so it will be slow going. I've already tried to clean up some minor articles (Orcrist being the most extensive so far) and I've already weighed in on some other debates, most notably: what the Men of Gondor should be called (Gondorians? Gondoreans? Men of Gondor?) I'll be here though. If you need any help, I have (besides all of his major works, as well as some of the minor writings), a small library of Tolkien criticism and a fair amount of books on Anglo Saxon language and literature as well.

PS: Read the Children of Hurin as soon as you get the chance! It's amazing. Reminds me of something Homer might have written had he lived in Northern Europe instead of the Hellenic states. Ryecatcher773 20:24, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Paul Carter

Why did you delete the article about this guy? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtuttle49 (talkcontribs)

Because the article did not assert notability. Cheers, Fang Aili 17:45, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

You dont even know who he is. There are tons of other bios on wikipedia. Sorry for wanting to create one about a good friend of mine who has passed — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtuttle49 (talkcontribs)

If you can show he is notable, then he might merit a page. Articles in mainstream newspapers would be a good start. Thanks, Fang Aili 17:51, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

You aren't of any "notability" yet you have profile! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtuttle49 (talkcontribs)

Deleted Page - Diane Howe - Psychic

I have just created a page which you have marked for speedy deletion due to copyright infringement. I would like to state for the record that the information that has been submitted onto wikipedia and on the site you refer to (howe-online.co.uk) is owned by myself and thus does not infringe any copyright laws. Could you please re-instate the page.

Regards

Hello, thank you for your polite note. Unfortunately, even if the information was not copyrighted, it is not suitable for Misplaced Pages. First, you would need to show why Diane Howe is notable. Please understand that Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia; being a non-notable person is ok--it just means you shouldn't have an encyclopedia entry. Also, the material would have to be rewritten to sound like an encyclopedia article. Thank you and have a great day, Fang Aili 18:32, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Handango Article

Not sure why you removed the Handango article. Please explain. Handango falls within Misplaced Pages:Notability (organizations and companies) and is subject to a great deal of Secondary sources. Perhaps my initial contribution was limited in scope but an article should definately be there. --Searchmaven 18:45, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

It was very short, and while it might be notable, it didn't say why it is. It could also be considered advertising. You can recreate it, but be sure to say why it's notable, with sources! Cheers and have a great day, Fang Aili 18:50, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Will do, thanks for the reply. I'll do a better job of establishing notability this time. Searchmaven (talk · contribs)

I Love Rewards Deletion

Hello Fang,

My name is Dan and I work for a local newspaper. I recently heard about a company in Toronto called I Love Rewards. They have been making some news lately and appear to be doing some interesting things. I began entering an article on them and noticed that it was deleted rather quickly.

When you can, could you please let me know what I did wrong in creating the article that caused it to be deleted? Also, any advice you could give to prevent this from happening again would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Dan

Howdy! It was deleted because it looked like advertising. It also did not state why the company was notable according to these standards. I hope that answers your question. Cheers, Fang Aili 18:53, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Glen Onwin

Dear Fang Aili

my first try to get an article into Wiki and you delete it as fast as i put it in. I hope that it was an automatic delete process as you could not have read and reviewed in that time. I presume that I must have upset some protocol. I have created a website for Glen Onwin a highly respected and well known Artist(within the UK art circles). Should you wish to see his web it is http://www.onwin.co.uk. When drafting my submission I looked and followed the format of such other artists as Anthony Gormley, Richard Long and Damien Hirst amongst others. And thought that I had got the format right.

Should I had crossed the system Advice in simple on technical computer terms would be appreciated.

Steve

Hello Steve. It was deleted because it was a copyright violation. Misplaced Pages cannot accept copyrighted material, such as that at http://www.onwin.co.uk/CV.htm. If you wish to create an article about this person, please do so in your own words. Thank you, Fang Aili 19:10, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for prompt reply I thought I had replied but cannot see it so here goes again ( I told you I was new to this) What I though I had said was that all the work is by Glen and I and when submitting I thought I had ticked a box that said there were no copyright issues. As I see it it is an edit from his website, that I created for him, and therefore it is already in the public domain. Steve

You're doing fine!
The first step would be to read this page and find out if Glen is notable according to Misplaced Pages's guidelines. If you think he is, the second step would be to add something to your webpage, like "The contents of this page are released to the public domain". Then the content will be usable wherever. Cheers, Fang Aili 20:36, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Pages on independent Australian musicians

Dear Fang Aili,

I've recently created a Misplaced Pages account and began editing and creating articles on Australian independent musicians. You have left messages regarding The Bedridden and Pearly Black and have said that they may shortly be removed. I have read the guidelines and I am not sure what you are referring to regarding non-conformity. Can you please tell me so that I can make necessary changes?

In addition, you refer to these pages as "pages that have created" when I simply expanded on the page for The Bedridden which, to my knowledge, had been there for a considerable time. In "being bold", have I ruined the page? So far, this is not a particularly pleasant experience - my hard work is disappearing.

You're right about The Bedridden; that page has been around a while. But the group looks pretty non-notable. See WP:BAND on the guildelines of notability for bands and other musical groups. Pearly Black was deleted because it did not assert notability either. I'm sorry about your work getting deleted--if you can look at it from my position, I'm doing "new article patrol", and Misplaced Pages gets many non-notable band articles. There have to be standards, or we would have an encyclopedia full of articles about anyone who could pick up a guitar. Please have a look at WP:BAND and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for being polite in your message. --Fang Aili 19:41, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Dear Fang Aili,

How do I get the pages back to add the notability criteria? The difficulty with independent bands is that they don't publish records on major labels and don't always enter into mainstream measures.

That said, Baterz (who was one the creative forces in The Bedridden) had an half-hour tribute on Australia's National youth radio network (JJJ) when he died and even more coverage in Adelaide (a major Australian city). Kirsty Stegwazi, another member of the Bedridden is another important solo artist, having played support for Ben Harper, Cat Power, Sean Lennon and others. I'm sure this satisfies the criteria. I didn't think I had to add this information since the band already had a page.

Pearly is also notable. There isn't a lot of material on the internet regarding her main band, Madam Bones Brothel, because they were playing independent gigs before the internet was popular. When JJJ (again, the national youth radio network) launched in Brisbane (an Australian capital city of more than a million people), her band played live to air. Her main collaborator, John Rodgers, is an internationally-recognised composer. There were a lot of citations in this article and I believed that notability was established within. I can, however, add more if it is required.

I just need to get the articles back. I plan on adding more articles about Australian bands and musicians. But it needs to be easier than this.

No problem, I'll restore them. Just be sure to add your notability assertions and sources whenever you create a new article. Thank you for your efforts and contributions to the encyclopedia! --Fang Aili 20:29, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey

I replied on my talk page, but I just wanted to drop by real quick to tell you, you really made my day with your comment. I hadn't seen you around in such a long while, you've given me a very large smile. I was just thinking of dropping by last week, sadly I forgot/didn't have the time/and a whole bevy of other excuses prevented me from doing so, sorry!. So glad you paid me a visit. Thank you, and happy editing. :D KOS | talk 20:04, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

P.S. My Cubbies, are creeping up on them Brewers! KOS | talk 20:05, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

So happy I could put a smile on your face!! :)
I don't know how the Brewers are doing lately; I know they were great there for a while, but I'm just not enough of a fan to keep up with all the games! --Fang Aili 02:54, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Range block?

Hey Fang Aili,

Do you know how to perform a range block? I have taken a look at the range block help page, and I can't figure it out. There's an incident here that needs attention, but I don't know how to do it. Any ideas? Firsfron of Ronchester 17:49, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I've never done a range block before. I thought it would involve blocking IPs with similar numbers, like 55.55.55.1 through 55.55.55.3. But this guy's IP addresses are all over the place. --Fang Aili 20:40, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I know. It seems like an awfully large range to block, but they are all Houston-based IPs. I don't even know how to perform one. Firsfron of Ronchester 22:04, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
OK, thanks. Firsfron of Ronchester 23:12, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Re:Admin Coaching

Hi, I would like to clarify something, its about the WP:ADMINCOACH. To start off, I have been in Esperanza for about a few months since last year. I then signed up for the Admin Coaching and snaked my way up the 40++ list of users at that time, up to number 12. I waited for about 3-4 months for a coach, contacted 3 coaches and got turned down, and now they so happily put me in the not active list. I now have to put my name in at the bottom of another 40 users, and God knows when I'll get my coach. Although I am rather taken aback by that, I have decided to make life easier for the coachees and coachers by signing up to become a coach myself. However, is there any requirements to become one? Number of edits etc, etc? Thanks in advance! Cheers!!!! --Zacharycrimsonwolf 14:18, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Holy cannoli, I had no idea the coaching page had changed so much. Well, the way it's supposed to work is that no one has to "wait in line"--you don't have to wait for the 20 or 40 people who signed up before you to get a coach. You said you've asked for a coach and been turned down--bummer. I can be your coach if you like. Technically I already have 2 coachees, but they are pretty much inactive in terms of coaching. So if you are looking for something more now and real-time, I'm available.
Regarding being a coach, no, you don't have to be an admin. It's probably better if you are, because you'd have admin experience, but it's not required, and there are really no set requirements for coaches. We have tried to make this as free-form as possible, to avoid wikilawyering and formality. I looked over your talk page though, and if you still have under 1000 edits, you probably aren't experienced enough to be a coach. I would think 2000 to be a minimum, but that's just a guideline.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you want coaching. Cheers, Fang Aili 19:20, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Mmbabies (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and TV station articles ANI report

  • I deleted/reverted a bunch or mmbabies crap right after I got sysop'd so the ANI report caught my eye. There will be collateral damage from a range block and I just don't know enough about the level of disruption to enact the blocks that would need to be done right now. If you want to know the ranges to block and how to do a range block, email me and I can give you the info. Isotope23 (talk · contribs)
I don't have a particular interest in performing this range block myself, but I would like to know how. Also, how could I watch for and repair collateral damage? This is new to me. --Fang Aili 20:56, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Sure I don't mind if you forward it.--Isotope23 14:23, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

You deleted Pete Escovedo

Please restore Pete Escovedo, as a Percussionist stub.

He is a world-famous Afro-Latin American Musician, bioloigal Father of Nicole Ritchie and brother to Sheila Escovedo aka Sheila E and father of Alejandro Escovedo a Mexican-American musician. Brother of Coke Escovedo, born Thomas Escovedo, a percussionist who played with Carlos Santana in the seventies. Pete Escovedo was also a percussionist with Santana. See List of Austin City Limits performers Steven Russell 20:39, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

There's nothing much to restore. It was a one-liner about possibly being the biological father of Nicole Richie. It sounds like this person is notable, so if you'd like to create an article about him, go ahead. Cheers, Fang Aili 20:56, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Fantastic!

"Holy cannoli"? I actually laughed out loud when I read that! Haven't heard that phrase in years...I love it! You have a great sense of humor. I put in for an admin coach and saw that you edited the page, so out of curiosity I thought I'd drop by and check out your user pages. Lovely pictures and wonderful attitude. If you ever have a coachee slot available...I'd love to. It was the Holy Cannoli that got me...thanks for the smile! Dreadstar 09:05, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

I'll be your coach, no problem! I have 2 coachees right now, but they're pretty much inactive, so I'm open for another. Create a coaching page and we can get started. :) --Fang Aili 17:19, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Awesome! Thank you so much, Fang! I've created a coaching page. This is so cool! Dreadstar 17:55, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

South Carolina television stations

Hi. On what basis did you decide that lists of on-air personalities at TV stations are non-notable/non-encyclopedic, and that the links to FCC data for individual South Carolina Educational Television stations should be deleted? Thanks. JTRH 21:58, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
