Production staff lists
Hi Sjones23,
Production staff isn't necessary to list outright within the article proper, as a full list, without any commentary or additional context, probably constitutes trivia. — TKD::Talk 20:34, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'd like to reiterate this sentiment as well since you didn't seem to get it the first time. Axem Titanium 22:22, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- Same here, I'd recommend that you go to WP:FF and discuss it on the talk page there before continuing. --PresN 22:37, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
I got your messages. Without the commentaries or notices, I shouldn't have to add more staff members to the article.
- I'm afraid you misunderstand. Placing them into the infobox does not make them any less trivial, it just clutters the infobox. Full game credits are not needed for Misplaced Pages. Axem Titanium 02:00, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I agree with you, Axem Titanium. You know something? When you're right, you're right. I understand what you are saying about this. I do forgive you. Full game credits aren't needed like you said and I will try not to use full game credits.--Sjones23 02:08, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
I wanted to add some important staff members and other information for Final Fantasy, but that was trivial and the infobox got cluttered up by accident when I added some more staff members and whoops, that was unnecessary information! My bad :D! Also, if I want to experiment to test my editing skills, I will experiment by using the Sandbox ^_^. I won't let you down, Axem Titanium, PresN and TKD, even if I use it. No Worries about that here ^_^. Thanks for the information and advice you gave me earlier, my friends ^_^. I do really like all of you and I am always nice to all of you ^_^.--Sjones23 03:29, 6 January 2007 (UTC).
- Good luck, and happy editting. Axem Titanium 03:54, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! ^_^--Sjones23 03:57, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Re:FF articles
No problem. You're doing much better. I'm impressed. Axem Titanium 22:11, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- No problems here also and Thanks ^_^. I'm also very impressed and agree with your comment as usual.--Sjones23 22:33, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Languages
Hi. What are your native languages, and how well are you versed in the other languages? I can fix your languages boxes for you if you tell me that. --GunnarRene 18:23, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- I taught myself Japanese when I was younger (about 14 or 15). I am really well versed at speaking English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Italian, German and Japanese and also with several different languages.--Sjones23 18:26, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- They're all currently listed as your mother tongue if you read the text, so you might want to add levels to some of them. Sounds a little strange to list "basic Japanese" next to "native Japanese". (^_-) Dekimasu 04:28, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, what Japanese level are you actually? If you're that good, I'll pursue you for a better translation of the Ultimania. The Ivalice article needs a very, very, very good rehash. Bluerです。 18:06, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- I can speak a lot of Japanese. I will help with the Ivalice article, but I will need your help.

Bolding staff lists
Hi, I hope you're doing well. The staff list and other parts of an article should never be bolded or highlighted unless it is the actual title of the article or are highlighting character names, etc., per WP:MOS, and neither should the first letter of the proceeding word be capitalized (e.g. it should be Chief animator instead), per the above manual of style. I should note that I added the staff list myself into the article (from the Japanese interwiki), so I feel that it is necessary to be added into each related article, but unnecessarily highlighting it will lessen the overall article's feel (you will see that the highlighting is never done in any featured article nor any of the Japanese wiki entries, as it does not conform to the manual of style). Ganryuu (talk) 05:25, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
- I am really doing well and I am putting staff credits in most of the anime articles and I am cleaning up the staff lists per WP:MOS recently. I am looking forward to working with you, Ganryuu (talk). You wanted to save me unnecessary work as well. Thanks for the piece of advice you gave me. I will do my best. Can you help me out on some of the anime articles? If you do, that would be great. Thanks again for the piece of advice. Sjones23 00:42, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm delighted to hear that you are also adding and expanding on the staff lists; as you might have noticed, almost all anime articles on the Japanese wiki have staff sections, which can be very informative and helpful to the article, therefore I would certainly be delighted to help you on any articles you wish (^_^). Nihonjoe, a great administrator and friend, also adds staff sections to the most of the articles he creates or expands. I also wanted to make a minor self-correction, apparently you can add things such as Chief Animator or Executive Producer (but you can also use Chief animator or Executive producer as well, apparently it's a matter of choice over the manual of style) inside a particular section (say, Staff) but this shouldn't be added in the title of the section. Therefore, I greatly apologize for this, as well as not having contacted you sooner (^_^). ···巌流 20:40, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Dragonball Wiki
- Hi there. I noticed you're a member of Wikiproject Dragonball, and I'm trying to recruit some people from that to contribute to the Dragon Ball Wiki. It's in terrible shape right now with pretty much no consistency or policies, and only this week have I been able to get Angela and Sannse to create some Forums for us over there. I've got a proposed Manual of Style going over there and would like some people to contribute to that to set up some policies and start making the wiki bigger, better, and more intelligible/consistent. If you're interested, please hop on over or talk to me. Thanks for the time, whether you're interested or not. Wildyoda 02:35, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
basch
edit: sounded a little flustered. If you had the Ultimania, you can see how they spell out Basch's surname. Yes, I know how it was suppose to sound. Good day. 私はBluerです 00:58, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Replied in author's talk page. --Sjones23 01:26, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry if I sounded too gruff. I'm looking forward to be working with you too. :D Belias, well, ((trying not to sound too vain) I remember when I was fighting the guy, I was actually restraining myself not to kill him too quick. We know he's a fire elemental, so Flame shields help defend from fire attacks. And leveling up, maybe above 20 (that's what I did) and using quickenings are good too. vossler's a big help on this one. :D Feels good to hear from a fellow Final Fantasy XII player, good day! 私はBluerです 05:56, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
Final Fantasy XII Story section
Oh, that is a good idea. I have rewrote the whole paragraph, shortening it to half and flooding it with dialog lines from the game. You could do with a bit more expanding, and adding some pictures if you like. 私はBluerです 07:56, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- Great! I think for the time being pictures are important. Three pictures should do it. I see featured FF articles like X and VIII have three pictures in the story section. 私はBluerです 03:30, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for helping Bluerfn out with the FFXII stuff. I'm still on wiki-break so I won't be able to do much for a while so keep up the good work in the meantime. Axem Titanium 20:13, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Rahxephon credits
I had a look at the RahXephon article (and its related entries), and helped clean it up a little, also responding to some of the queries raised in its talk pages (in support of the addition of the production listings, etc). A staff section, such as the one in the Japanese wiki would also help greatly in improving any article's quality as well as its verifiability (I personally love adding staff sections lol). I also support the edits you've made to the article recently and so would like to commend you for helping improve them per WP:MOS-JA (^_^). ···巌流 23:12, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your tireless efforts adding the staff section on the RahXephon article; this really helped improve its quality, very nice work (^_^). ···巌流 00:20, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Your mentioning of spoiler warnings in edit summaries
You have a tendency to say "spoiler warnings are not needed as per... " when you make edits recently. Unless you're removing spoiler warnings, it makes no sense at all to say "spoiler warnings are not needed". Just because you're dealing with edits to the plot section doesn't mean you have to put a mention of spoiler tags in, you know what I mean? Just describe what the changes you make are. If you're changing the wording, say "changed wording of a sentence for clarity" and leave it at that. Edit summaries are for telling other editors what you've done, not for making random, unrelated statements. Nique talk 22:07, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I was making true statements about edit summaries up to this point, Nique. Thanks for helping me out on my advice. I know what you mean when you said "just because you're dealing with edits to the plot section doesn't mean you have to put a mention of spoiler tags in". I know what you are pointing me out that edit summaries. Also, need I remind you that you wanted to save me unnecessary work. Thanks for the information, Nique! :D Regards --Sjones23 22:11, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- I see you're intrested in tweaking wording. Here are examples of words that are considered taboo on Misplaced Pages (and usually removed when seen by copy-editors):
- Prior
- In order
- A majority of (should be "most")
- whilst (should be "while"
- Utilize (should be "used"; this will get a lot of copy-editors going crazy)
- For more information, feel free to view User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a. — Deckiller 22:14, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- I see you're intrested in tweaking wording. Here are examples of words that are considered taboo on Misplaced Pages (and usually removed when seen by copy-editors):
- Also, it's usually a good idea to avoid nitpicking too much; the FF4 FF6, FF7, FF8, FF10, FF10-2 articles are already featured status. I recommend focusing your energy on articles that are not featured status; perhaps FF2, FFTactics, or FF12. — Deckiller 22:17, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the help once again, Deckiller. I will mostly follow your recommendation, Deckiller. I sometimes overshoot on some parts. I will do my best! Thanks, best wishes and regards :D --Sjones23 22:19, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Glad to see enthusiasm :) The project needs that, as long as it's channeled correctly. The thing on Misplaced Pages is succinctness; the best articles are written without being too long winded and overclarifying. It's something that comes with experience on Misplaced Pages, as you will find out as you continue. A lot of people are cracking down on overly detailed plot summaries (which FFX and FFIV are borderline). As a general rule, however, most FAs don't require emphasis, because they've already undergone several peer reviews. If you expend the energy on topics not yet at featured status, such as referencing and expanding our GAs or B-class articles, it can go much further than minor edits on already featured articles. For instance, if you can find some reliable sources to help improve non-Featured Articles, such as strategy guides and IGN articles for Final Fantasy Tactics or Final Fantasy II, that would be extremely appreciated. — Deckiller 22:22, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- I am also a copyeditor as well, Deckiller :). I can rearrange some parts for clarity and clarification. Thanks again for the help, Deckiller! I would be honoured to help improve non-Featured Articles and also for Good Article nominees! I might be honored to help out anyone and any article that you wish. I would improve on anything you wish :D. It is really generous of you, Deckiller :). I am proud while I am helping you out. Thanks, best wishes and regards :D --Sjones23 22:32, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hey there, I understand that you are trying to help copyedit and clarify, and you are enthusiastic, which is a good thing, but some of your edits to the Final Fantasy articles are being seen as unhelpful. Now don't get discouraged, but I really suggest you looking at User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a and practicing the examples, it helped me out while getting Girl Scouts of the USA to FA. Good luck. Darthgriz 02:43, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Although I disagree with Griz's pointing to Tony's guide (we already went through that), I do agree that you may be spending too much time on clarification of FAs instead of working on articles that need more...substantial quality boosts, such as Final Fantasy II, the XII FA push (your help is appreciated with that by everyone else, by the way), or the spinoffs. Like most WikiProjects, our goal is to get everything to GA or FA status, and then work on maintaining quality or fine tuning. As always, thanks for being enthusiastic! But my opinion is that your Misplaced Pages time may be better spent working on the non-GA or FA articles to get them up to standards. — Deckiller 19:20, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Adoption
Hey, I saw that you were looking for adoption, would you like to be adopted by me? I can take up one more user. Darthgriz 21:27, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- I would be adopted gladly.
- Alrighty, what kind of things do you want to work on? Darthgriz 21:29, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- I work on mostly anime, games, Star Wars (Episodes I, II, III, IV, V and VI), Star Trek and rock music groups (Queen, Metallica, Rush, etc.). I really like the staff members and personnel and how they produced the music for the games and anime series as well. --Sjones23 21:53, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- You know, Griz, I would also be honored to help work on the anime voice actors' stubs as well as music stubs that needs to be expanded. --Sjones23 22:02, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the first thing you can do is go to the wikiprojects and look at the to do list for those articles or if there is a to do list on the talk page. That will give you an idea of how you can help out. Second, I would be careful with adding and changing prose, some of your edits seem to be being reverted a lot recently. I hope this helps, if you need more help you can ask me on here or on my talk page and I'll get back to you. Darthgriz 00:10, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Mystery of Mamo
I have reverted your changes to the Mystery of Mamo article made on 23:43, 3 June 2007. The stated rationale "all deceased actors and cast members should always have "the late" before their names" is not defined in the Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style and is not used in Misplaced Pages and other articles. See, for example, the The Internet Movie database website that lists movies and casts, or take a look at other Misplaced Pages articles that contain a cast list. Truthanado 23:58, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Return of the Jedi
Hey, I noticed you've taken an interest in the Return of the Jedi article and are pushing for an FAC. You seem quite interested in improving it. I've been working on the Star Wars film articles for the last year and was the main FA pusher for the articles nominations and candidacy. So basically I can tell you that the article for ROTJ is pretty much done. At this point, the reaction section needs to be a little more balanced with some fleshing out with negative review(s). But that's about it as far as added information. The progress for Return of the Jedi has been rather slow as I've been having trouble finding people to copyedit it. Also, the sources need to be fleshed out as well. Basically, if you'd like to help you can find people to copyedit the article and also help double up on the sources (as in find extra sources for information, especially since the majority of the Production section is sourced with the Empire of Dreams DVD documentary). The Filmaker 17:46, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but didn't you just read what I said? It's not ready. I needs the reaction section expanded, the sources doubled up and the entire article needs to be copyedited thoroughly. You should not be nominating it for FAC until it is actually finished. The Filmaker 21:10, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oops. I didn't read what you said. Sorry about that. I will put the FAC on hold. Sjones23 21:11, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- The discussion should actually be taking place at Talk:Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi#FAC. The Filmaker 21:29, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. I will continue this discussion there. Sjones23 21:32, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- Look, Sjones. Please realize that I am perfectly aware of what needs to be done. If you check the history you will realize that the majority of the work done to improve the article was done by me. In fact, all of the Star Wars film FAs up to this point were brought up to the status by me. I am not trying intimidate you, or dissuade from working on the articles. I'm saying that the majority of the work has been done by me and the same goes for this article. The only reason it hasn't been brought to FA status already is because I've been dealing with my job and going to college. The only thing I've been able to concentrate on Misplaced Pages-wise is an AFD. Which only closed just today. I will attempt to find a reliable copyediter and help with the references. But this is something that I will only be able to work when I can. I'll repeat, I know what to do, I know what it takes to get an FA. It's just a matter of time. At this point the only thing you should be asking about is whether it's done. Which by the way, it isn't. The Filmaker 03:17, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. I will continue this discussion there. Sjones23 21:32, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Talkheader
You seem to be indiscriminately adding {{Talkheader}} to article talk pages. Per the instructions for the template, "Using the template is suggested for talk pages that are very active or have had policy violation problems. This template should be used only when needed. Do not add this template to every talk page." I would appreciate it if you could refrain from adding this clutter unless there is a pressing need for it. Thanks, Pagrashtak 17:05, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- To be honest, I was not indiscriminately adding talkheader to article talk pages nor I was destroying them. I was making various points in the article talk pages clear. As you know, all of the article talk pages are not a forum for general discussions about the subjects (if there are irrelevant discussions to improving this article, they need to be removed). Thanks for the help. I am trying to stop to be honest. Besides, to be honest, most articles usually contain talkheaders. I was trying to let everyone know to be honest. Once again, Thanks and please accept my apologies. And, you're welcome. Sjones23 19:41, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
FFX Soundtrack track names
Because of the never ending battles between "brass de chocobo" and "chocobo jam" related track names. I went and put in an extra column, as mentioned long ago in the talk. You seem to know more about these then I do (track names), and have been pretty active at modifying them. I'd like to have your thoughts on this.Happypal 06:34, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- I usually update soundtrack track names to make them sound more accurate to the original Japanese. I know a lot about accurate translations from Japanese to English. Sjones23 12:44, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- Sweet. I'm only intermediate in japanese, so I couldn't really provide anything accurate or encyclopedic. I can tell when it doesn't match iTunes names, but providing something more accurate... Difficult :( Most of the names are just copy pastes from RPGFan.com. Well if you feel anything should be changed, go right on ahead! Happypal 14:25, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
talkpage
Hey, even if you do need to remind people to watch out for vandals, please avoid excessive markups. Those enthusiastic messages in the WPFF and FFVI talk page are disruptive; it's not necessary for you to embolden and put caps to emphasize your point. Next time, read the talk page guidelines thoroughly. I recommend you edit your post and soften it. — Bluerで す。 21:25, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- Uhhh..... okay, Bluerfn. Thanks for the help. I will edit this post ASAP. :D Sjones23 21:27, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've edited the post by unbolding the markups and uncapped the leters. Therefore, I apologize for my disruptive comments. Once again, thanks for the help, Bluerfn. Sjones23 21:30, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

This is what I can do, I can block the user with an autoblock and every IP they edit from will be blocked. I'm surprised someone else hasn't done it yet. DarthGriz98 00:28, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
Edit Summary
Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Your recent edit to Talk:Final Fantasy VI, which was a major edit - archiving, was reverted because you did not disclose an edit summary. Remember to leave an edit summary to notify other editors of what you are doing. Thank you. — Blue。 01:30, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Sheerness FAC
Hi. I'm sorry to bother you, but as a LoCE member, I just wondered if you would be willing to have a look through the Sheerness article. It is currently a Featured Article Candidate and needs a copy-edit for grammar by someone who hasn't yet seen it. Any other ways to improve the article would also be welcome. Thank you very much, if you can. Epbr123 12:23, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Evangelion: Drive to Good Article status
I've been being a little slow about this, but (check the project page) we need to start brushing up the Evangelion articles to the point that they are "Good Article" status (it doesn't matter if they get Featured or something, just that they're good enough that they theoretically could be at that standard). This means making sure that they are EXACTLY in accordance with all of wikipedia's rules and regulations (i.e. gutting them of all of our own Analysis; i.e. on the episode articles and Angel names and such). This doesn't actually concern me that much. (What are you planning Ikari?--Keel) --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici 20:59, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject Guitarists newsletter
The WikiProject Guitarists Newsletter | |
Hey everyone! It's been quite a while since the last newsletter went out but it's time to tune up those guitars, set the amps to 11, and rock out a bit. Or for us old guys, put on the fingerpicks and set the amp to 3. A lot of people have been laboring away at guitar articles and their efforts are to be applauded. If you haven't edited in a while, why not pick an article from Category:Stub-Class guitarist articles and expand it? Or better yet, pick one from the article requests and create it. More tasks can be found on the main project page in the WikiProject Guitarists open tasks box. I went through the member list and moved anyone who hasn't edited a guitar article in two months to the inactive section. If you're getting this newsletter, it means you are still in the active list. See you around --Spike Wilbury ♫ talk 21:47, 18 July 2007 (UTC) |

Semi-Retired?
GSII, you have arrived to the point where you feel Misplaced Pages and its editors do not appreciate your work; I coin this, "Wiki Under-Appreciation Trauma (WUAT)". I had felt the same thing before, as evident in this diff and in my talk page here, though maybe my reasons are "slightly" different from yours. I also contribute to the FFWiki, and had also voiced my feelings of under-appreciation there. I was eager to get responses from my work and queries, which are almost always nonexistent.
Then I thought; maybe I did it wrong? Or maybe the others are too busy to response? Or maybe I should give them time to response? Or maybe what I did didn't require any response since it's self-answered already. These are some of the excuses I gave myself when I feel my work under-appreciated.
All in all, I wish you all the best in your semi-retirement. I invite you to express yourself if you have any qualms against me in my talk page, and I'll acknowledge them. Do your best in whatever you do, and Good Luck. — Blue。 11:55, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
P/S: I just had to voice this out. I felt shunned and very disappointed when the FFTA GA drive I launched in FFProj had no response, while your FF FA drive, in which you copy my sentence - with some tweaks, had one response (even one response can spring my hopes up). Nevertheless, I worked a lot on the FFTA article, and now its a GA. I end with a quote, an advice I gave in a talk page somewhere:
All efforts start with the self. I mean, don't rely on others so much, Wikipedians are not paid to do things and they have their other concerns to address.

- So you changed your mind? Unretired to wikibreak? Okay, continue your efforts. So you're contributing to the FF Wiki? Drop by my talk page there so I'll know you're there. — Blue。 13:32, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Test
Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks!
- Ah, now I see. I will use an accurate edit summary. :D Cheers. Greg Jones II 18:00, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
