Jackrm

Jackrm (talk · contribs) I have now made over 2000 edits, most of which are vandal fighting, though I have made many mainspace edits. I would like some feedback on my editing, and bear in mind I have started to crack down on my "wikilove" edits now as they seem to not be liked anymore! — jacĸrм ( talk | sign ) 17:38, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Reviews

Jackrm, I am not sure what your objective is. Do you want to be an admin, or a better editor, or both? As far as your editing goes, I will give you the same advice that I have given others. Concentrate less on the easy stuff (reverting vandals, minor formatting, chatting with other editors) and more on the hard stuff: writing. I suggest you pick just one article, something you know or care about, and take it from stub class as far as it can go. --Una Smith 17:31, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Jackrm, how do you explain your sock account Jack Merridew, which you have used to place nonsense trivia and conflict of interest tags? The talk page for that account also has warnings from an administrator about entering edit wars and inciting conflict?

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Misplaced Pages, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I know many people do it, but vandal fighting is something I enjoy doing. My edits to bands I like I feel are also good. I have greatly improved the Meg & Dia and Coheed and Cambria articles. To Meg & Dia, I added non-free images of albums, singles and the band, audio samples and lots of sourced information. I also created a page linked to Meg & Dia, If You're Poor Find Something to Sue For, although it's a stub due to the little ammount of info on it online, and two other stub pages of footballers, mainly created to complete the squad list on the teams article. As for Coheed and Cambria, I update their future album, Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow as much as possible.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I don't feel I have, no. If there is any vandals, I try not to make them mad or anything. I always try to be friendly, however much some people annoy me! Luckily, I haven't been in any edit wars, the only reverts I do are removing unconstructive edits and/or vandalism. I warn the users or inform them of what they did wrong immediately so no confusion is caused as to why I removed their edits. I must admit though, I have made mistakes. One being where I was new to Misplaced Pages, and incorrectly warned someone for some vandalism they didn't do. Me and that user are fine now though, and have both awarded eachother Barnstars to say sorry, award eachother for the good edits we do, and to calm the situation. I do get mad at some things which happen on Misplaced Pages sometimes, although I try not to show it.
