== Whig ==

Could you have a look at Whig's contribs over the last couple days? There's nothing egregious, but there's a lot of the low-level rudeness and obliviousness that were the main problems brought up in the RfC.

Thanks

I appreciate your accepting the recall petition and going to the RFC. It shows good faith, and a willingness to take the community's opinion into account, which is really the whole point of the Misplaced Pages administrators open to recall category. In a way, it's even more in the spirit of the category than Crzrussian's stepping down as soon as 6 people certified. --AnonEMouse 14:15, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the kind words. Mercury 16:09, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

recall

I don't know you or have ever edited the same articles as you. Neither have I yet read the complaints in detail. However, willingness to discuss recall speaks highly of any administrator who does so. Mrs.EasterBunny (talk) 23:13, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

While starting to review the situation, I find that your account was merged with Navou. Who is Navou? Why the name change? Associated with any edit war? Mrs.EasterBunny (talk) 23:17, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

One reason I changed my username to throw off someone who was using the emailuser feature that I did not want to communicate with. So when I registered Navou again and forwarded that accounts emails somewhere else. I also broke the link (redirect). I’ve restored it recently and redirected those pages to my new username. I've since learned how to use the spam routing feature of my email client.

No revert warring with that name that I'm aware of. Regards, Mercury 03:11, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

DRV of Angela Beesley

How do you get that result out of the discussion? Mercury 12:41, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

I'll presume that's a request to explain my closure? Give me a minute and I'll be happy to explain further. - jc37 12:45, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes, thank you. You had also speedily closed in the very beginning, would you consider reverting your closure and allowing someone who has not attempted a speedy close to close this discussion? Regards, Mercury 12:48, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
First, my apologies for the wait, I've been distracted.
Second, I don't think that the speedy closures prejudiced me to this discussion. (In truth, I don't see a lot of change, except a head count, though several points were more fully clarified.)
That said, I don't wish this to be contentious either. Personally, I have no doubts of my neutrality in this (since, as I said before I don't know this person). And now that's it's been shown that forum shopping is an option in closures, I'm not sure what to do. I was informed/reminded recently by a regular DRV closer that admins shouldn't revert a DRV closure. Funny how that hasn't been my experience lately. : ) - jc37 13:15, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. I disagree with your close but I don't think I would have reverted as Doc did. That being said, I agree with Doc that perhaps we should find a closer who has not done so already speedily. You may be neutral, but the appearance may be important also, it is a contentious DRV/AFD. Best regards, Mercury 13:25, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
One thing I have to admit. If I had read your second comment before being distracted by others' comments, I honestly would have considered reverting my closure.
And I have to say, imo, you've done more assuming of good faith than others. I guess I'm just rather stunned by the actions and statements of others, but I think in hindsight it's probably best to just chalk it up to more IWANTIT/IDONTWANTIT PPOV, which has unfortunately become more and more common of late.
Anyway, thanks for your comments, and I hope you have a great day : ) - jc37 14:31, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
