This is a Misplaced Pages:WikiProject LGBT studies collaboration as per the LGBT studies Newsletter of December 2007. The aim is to get the article, first to GA Status then to FA Status.

Here are some of the tasks you can do. Feel free to strike through anything that is completed.

  • Expand lead
  • Expand her career section, quote extracts from her poetry.
  • Add a "Cultural refernces section" to the article. How is Elizabeth Bishop viewed today ? both by the straight and gay communities ?
  • Add a section if being gay affected her poetry and her perception of life.
  • Expand on her life in Brazil, for instance, details on her alcoholism and her art work, she was there for 15 years.
  • Give correct references as per WP:CITET. There is no hope of GA or FA status if all details are not referenced.
  • Add photos.
  • Add details on her writing technique.
