Just the facts ma'am
I disagree that my reference to the aphorism is culturally obscure in the English-speaking world, and state that it is a cute but succinct and helpful illustration that lead articles should be brief and relevant. I don't care, I wasn't referring to it, the other day, when I said on IRC that you've been calling me names, and calling me "bitch"—well, you have—the word "bitch" isn't really so specific as to always constitute a hint at that weird androgynous phrase of yours, ages ago. Really, is it, now?
Yes, you have indeed repeatedly "apologized" about the phrase—really classic non-apology apologies claiming it never happened, I'm making it up, I'm obsessed with it (!) and I haven't e-mailed you the ancient log. Sheesh... OK, the reason I haven't mailed you the log is that a private e-mail from me to you isn't going to stop you saying I lie, is it? I mean, you have the amazing effrontery to say it now; why would you suddenly stop, unless I proved, in public, that I'm telling the truth?
