Since his rise to fame, there has been many questions concerning the validity of Max's stories. On June 27, 2006, Tucker appeared on the Opie and Anthony show on XM Satellite Radio. After telling his "Tucker Tries Butt-Sex" story, the interview quickly went sour. Upon further questioning, Max was unable to validate his story with the inability to be able to produce the tape in question, claiming that the cameraman vomited on it, thus destoying the tape. Max was also unable to produce a police report involving another woman's car and a parking mishap that resulted in a supposed collision with a donut shop. Opie and Anthony then led an unsuspecting Max into believing that his headphones had broken. While Max's headphones were off, Anthony told the audience that Tucker Max was being untruthful, and made comments eluding that they believed his stories were completely fabricated. The interview ended with allegations of Tucker being called a "liar" and comparisons to author James Frey. When leaving the studio, Opie allegedly threw his book at a window and tore it up. Max left the building, giving an employee of the radio station the middle finger. Tucker has since removed all mentions of this appearance on his website.

Tucker Tibor Max is an American fratire writer known for chronicling his sexual and drunken exploits on his website. His latest book, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, made the New York Times Best Seller list in both 2006 and 2007. Max had previously published two additional titles which were not as widely published as "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell". Max is a graduate of the University of Chicago and Duke University. Max is the son of Dennis Max, a well known restaurant owner in South Florida.

Legal troubles

In 2003, Max was court ordered to remove a story from his site which was a "tell all" account of his relationship with an ex-girlfriend and former Miss Vermont. It was a less than flattering account and the alleged victim filed an invasion-of-privacy lawsuit. The case was dismissed after the ACLU stepped in on Max's behalf claiming that the court had violated his First Amendment rights. The story was later reposted on his website when all lawsuits were settled and renamed "The (Almost Banned) Miss Vermont Story".

"Tucker Max" Projects

In 2006, Max began development of a television pilot for Comedy Central.

In the Fall of 2008, Max plans to release a new book titled Assholes Finish First. He claimed in March 2007 that he received a $300,000 advance from the publisher.

Max is the founder of an online company named Rudius Media. The company website states that it is "dedicated to finding, publishing, managing and publicizing new and original content by unknown or under-promoted artists and writers."
