WANT TO KNOW JUST HOW GOOD AN ANONYMOUS EDITOR CAN BE?.... LOOK AT MY USERPAGE. THAT'S RIGHT... AN ANON WITH A USERPAGE
I have almost 50000 edits on the English Misplaced Pages. Before you complain please try to remember... I never make mistakes. I have no AGF for idiots. And I have no AGF for vandals, crufters, POV pressers and soapboxers. With the English Misplaced Pages now over 2 million articles I firmly believe that 90% of them are crap that should be deleted. Stub creators are not doing Misplaced Pages any favours by creating half-assed articles about non-notable subjects. And most importantly Inclusionists are the scourge of all quality on Misplaced Pages. My motto is simple... Turn down the suck, turn up the good. It doesn't get any simpler then that. If you have anti-anon editor bias then relax, sit back and listen to some nice music.
My main interest is music. And it is music related articles that I edit most often. Just a small sample of the music that I listen to includes: Rush, Steve Morse, The Beatles, Bill Monroe, Frank Zappa, Johnny Cash, Alice Cooper, Big Bill Broonzy, Gioachino Rossini, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Ernest Tubb, Black Sabbath, Robert Johnson, The Who, The Band, Rory Gallagher, Pink Floyd, Tony Rice, Yes, Parliament-Funkadelic, Charlie Christian, King Crimson, Chet Atkins, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, Iron Maiden, Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Hank Willims Sr., Metallica, Jimmie Rodgers, Anthrax, The Carter Family, Slayer, Roger Miller, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Django Reinhardt, Primus, Pearl Jam, Gov't Mule, Motorhead, Willie Nelson, KISS, Old Crow Medicine Show, Judas Priest, Waylon Jennings, Bob Dylan, Rollling Stones, Woody Guthrie, The Clash, Pete Seeger, Corrosion of Conformity, Roy Acuff, Junior Brown, Richie Havens, Thin Lizzy, Merle Haggard, Jethro Tull, Tommy Emmanuel , Robin Trower, Blue Öyster Cult, Doc Watson, Dream Theater, Stompin' Tom Connors... and many more.

The Barnstar of Anonymous Contribution | ||
I hereby award you, the anonymous contributors hailing from 156.34.0.0 - 156.34.255.255, with The Barnstar of Anonymous Contribution, for the unsung and thankless service you have rendered unto Misplaced Pages, in your countless minor edits and bigger contributions over time. They have made a difference in our community and hopefully retelling this event to the barmen you encounter may bring forth the odd free beer to wrap in your hand. Thanks!--Alf 14:23, 3 April 2007 (UTC) and Bubba hotep 14:24, 3 April 2007 (UTC) |
- tears, smiles, waves to the audience as he walks down the podium, kisses losing IPs on the cheek. 156.34 is a team of bored librarians(and the occasional vandalising student...but we'll ignore them). On behalf of the "library crew"..we thank you for the token of Wiki-appreciation. 156.34.142.110 14:35, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Actually, this has more historical significance than appears on the surface. You see, this is probably the only Barnstar young Alfred has given out this year (something about losing the keys to the cabinet or something) so, as such, is rare indeed. Guard it with your life. ;) Bubba hotep 14:49, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

So here is a barnstar for being my unofficial mentor and for giving me some great times on Misplaced Pages. It's also for cleaning up a lot of the junk that makes it onto here... Tally Ho! Take care, friend. Scarian 14:11, 27 October 2007 (UTC) |
Have a look
Not to tell you what to do and all, but I found this article filmi(as we call it here in India). Welt 15:33, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I removed it from the list. I normally look up bands on amg or metal observer to check if thy are really thrash or not. I did it for this one as well. But the way this article was written, sort of glorified the band, I think. I was asking whether the band is really as great as the article makes it sound like. Don't know if they are deletable or not, I don't know what exactly the parameters for deletion are. Welt 16:14, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Let's ask Scarian... since he's eavesdropping anyways :D. Waddaya think Scarian... notable, prod, AfD, .... oooo gettin thick just thinkin' 'bout it ... a Speedy D??? What are your thoughts? 156.34.142.110 (talk) 16:46, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Well I checked the edit history, and it turns out that one particular IP diff seems to have done all the glorifying edits. The band is also listed on amg, though not that comprehensively . Welt 16:55, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- The label they're attached to is notable I am afraid :-/ They pass WP:MUSIC that way. Dang! Scarian 17:09, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I have a feeling its copied from a magazine. The user who may have put the only cite in the article must have forgotten to add {{reflist}} at the end, which I did right now. And the citation says it is from the apr 2006 issue of one 'Neozine' mag. Welt 17:17, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Very WP:POV and suffers from grammar mistakes... could do with a re-write for sure. Scarian 17:22, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- The text is word-for-word from garageband.com thegauntlet.com prostheticrecords.com and their MySpace page. What's your take on that??? 156.34.142.110 (talk) 17:26, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Now I'm being cheeky here, but WP:MUSIC states that they should have 2 releases on a major record label, while the prosthetic records link provided by 156.34.x.x (can I call you Libsey?)mentions that their latest album is their debut on that company. Welt 17:36, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I guess it does fail. I didn't check that. It might be hell at AfD though. Btw, Libsey... It needs to be completely stubbed immediately if it's pure copyvio. :-D Scarian 17:48, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Are those websites mirroing Wiki?... or is the Wiki content a copyvio of one of them... I am zeroing in on the Record Company website. As an anon if I blank the page I will get bombed with warnings by retarded idiots who don't know the difference between simple vandalism and their ass. 156.34.142.110 (talk) 18:02, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Mr.Bold
Okay, I read through a few things... I honestly don't see the problem with you removing it. Although, I think people are going to notice it gone and wonder why. I wonder if someone can't just get up MS paint and just copy the logo but change the font slightly? Or is that even more illegal than "fair-use"? :-P - I don't think it's such a major thing, you've cited some policies... It might even get ignored and forgotten about. Although, the logo's rationale looks okay... and it complies with policy (I know almost nothing about pics on wiki)... and it's been here since August so beta or someone else would've sniped it off if it was bad. What's your take on the actual pic's worth? Scarian 07:54, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Today has been stressful...
I think I'm gonna wind down and just colourfully exist for a while... maybe fire up the Huggle-nator... press some colourful balloons... and generally have a colourful time reverting vandalism... and then have a colourful cup of tea... and then have a colourful read of colourful Misplaced Pages colours... I love colours... shame you don't :-D Scarian 16:12, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

The discussion at Template talk
Therefore, I have been putting logos back in, as other have been doing so as well. Don't rv these per WP:CON and I should also point out you made an edit to Judas Priest but did not remove it's logo. Blizzard Beast 21:37, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Are we looking at the same page here? A "consensus that specifically stylized logos have a place in the infobox" has most definately not been reached, the only consensus I see so far is that they do not belong in the name field. Their inclusion elsewhere isn't being prohibited by anyone involved in that discussion. I strongly urge you to not just revert if your edit means replacing the image in the name field.--Alf 21:55, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Canadian question...
Does BritEng use "Center" to describe a place like e.g. "Day care center"? Or does it use "centre"? Or is that just the word for "middle of something"? Does Canadian English do the same? e.g. "Mayfield Convention Centre" or "Mayfield Convention Center"? - Which would be correct in Can. English? Scarian 16:59, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you, Mr.Libsey! All corrections made ;-) Scarian 19:59, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

vandalism templates
Hello, I think you edited as 156.34.215.223 recently. I would like to remind you of WP:VAND#NOT, which seems to apply in all three cases in which you handed out vandalism templates. "Stubbornness" is on the list of behaviour types that should not be classified as vandalism. I think that's because it may be considered counterproductive to treat it as such. Also, there seem to be several slow-moving edit wars going on. Presumably you are acting based on a consensus, but I could not find where it was reached. I would suggest leaving a note on the talk pages of the affected articles, pointing to the relevant discussion. Without that you would seem to risk innocent people taking the wrong side because they are not fully informed. --Hans Adler (talk) 17:05, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- In quick overview I see warnings against the "anti-Saint John"/"New Brunswick" vandal. His vandal history is lengthy and spans numerous IP accounts. I also see a warning against the "statistics vandal" Again a "repeater" whose talk page is already heavy laden with warnings for vandalism, 3RR incl. block notices. All warnings were valid and only issued after several re-hacks and several "hope they don't do that agains" from me. I don't see any "nots" there. 156.34.142.110 (talk) 18:02, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- Well, please don't take this as an attack - I only wanted to alert you to a minor technical problem. I had a look at your edits in connection with what I thought might be a forum shopping attempt by another user at WQA. Because of your changing IP addresses I didn't know about this page initially, so I could only judge you by your few edits under that address. They started with several reverts to what looked like potentially good faith edits, and so it was quite easy to get a wrong impression, especially since the vandals use changing IP addresses as well. I don't know if you could leave a link to your user page, or a link to some place with information about the vandal in question, but that would certainly help. Or am I just showing my ignorance and there is a database of vandals' IP addresses somewhere? --Hans Adler (talk) 19:43, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm gonna mail you within the next 5 minutes. Got something for you to look at... Scarian 18:15, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: "Oh that's just Libs"
How do I know you? I like to keep track on our best IP contributors. :-D I know what it's like being on that side of the tracks - the only reason I ever registered an account was because nobody was giving a good fuck about my opinions at WP:FAC about an article that I'd written. As soon as I went from having an anonymous IP address to having an anonymous username - bam! - people start listening. east.718 at 21:20, January 25, 2008
Re:Prejudice
Haha - are you transferring the main hatred that is behind racism and applying it to Misplaced Pages? :-D Scarian 18:52, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- Actually I was struggling with my can-opener trying to open a can of soup that was bent on remaining un-opened. I transferred my hatred for the can opener onto the Anti-IP biased/anti-Wikipedian philosophy vandal tool. :D 156.34.142.110 (talk) 19:20, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey!
Well, I am doing a sort of cleanup of the thrash list since some time, and I hope you will help me in sorting this one out. Is there a genre called 'death/thrash' metal? A lot of bands which I rounded up for 'questioning' seem to belong to this genre. Death evolved from thrash, so it is bound to have some thrash elements in it. And most of the bands are far away from the 'fluid-genre' period you talked about. IMO, 'death/thrash' is just death, but then I really haven't listened to any of these bands.
Also have a look at this band. They aren't on AMG, not even on the metal observer. Welt 07:09, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
