Addhoc, I restored Danieleng's last posting to your talkpage. It is not clear why you would remove his remarks, since he appears to be a respected editor, expressing concerns to you in good-faith. You again removed his remarks. This seems highly inappropriate. ] ] (]) 22:40, 1 February 2008 (UTC) |

Dispute - how to work to resolution
I appear to be in an edit war with another editor, and would like to resolve the issue. However, I'm having difficulty doing this because despite leaving messages on the article page Fox in Socks and on the user's talk page 75.40.33.116 (talk · contribs), they do not reply or nor do they attempt to discuss the issue. The only response is a revert and/or re-edit of the page, plus wiki-comments to the effect: "Please do not delete or move this text." The fact that the user is an anonymous IP also make s life difficult as it appear that they can sometimes change IP address. Any suggestions about the best way forward within the Misplaced Pages guidelines/policies would be gratefully received. The edit in question is not particularly controversial, but I don't like to give in to what feels to me like bullying tactics.. Thanks. -- MightyWarrior (talk) 13:50, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Portal
I have created a portal called Portal:Animal and I am lacking of experience to edit it. Could somebody help me to improve it?--Mark Chung (talk) 14:23, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Roseline
Hi, the term "Roseline" was invented by Dan Brown for his novel The Da Vinci Code and there is no earlier citation of this name in existence, unless you can find one. The ray of light that is linked to the gnomon in the church of St Sulpice in Paris has nothing to do with a "Meridian". Wfgh66 (talk) 22:08, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
The ray of light in St Sulpice Church, Paris
http://en.wikipedia.org/%C3%89glise_Saint-Sulpice%2C_Paris
You can read here that the ray of light associated with the gnomon at the church of St Sulpice has nothing to do with the Paris Meridian, but with determining the time of the equinoxes and hence of Easter - quote: "At noon on the winter solstice (December 21), the ray of light touches the brass line on the obelisk. At noon on the equinoxes (March 21 and September 21), the ray touches an oval plate of copper in the floor near the altar." This is an accurate description.Wfgh66 (talk) 22:44, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Paris Meridians and Roseline
http://en.wikipedia.org/Roseline
This needs a little more work on it because two Paris Meridians are involved - the old and the new - I believe that it's the old Paris Meridian that passes 200 meters away from the Louis Lawrence tomb at Les Pontils ("Arques") Wfgh66 (talk) 22:55, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
RfA thanks
I am not one for sending round pretty pictures, but after my recent RfA, which passed 68/1/7, I am now relaxed and this is to thank you for your support. I will take on board all the comments made and look forward to wielding the mop with alacrity. Or two lacrities. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 21:09, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
