Welcome

Hello, Bobanni, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Misplaced Pages:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

If you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal, particularly the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements and Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related Misplaced Pages notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to announce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea.

Finally, in case you are interested, similar boards exist at Russia portal as many editors contribute to topics related to both countries. The respective boards there are: Portal:Russia/New article announcements and Portal:Russia/Russia-related Misplaced Pages notice board. Of course there are also many other portals at Misplaced Pages or you may just get right into editing.

Again, welcome! --Boguslav (talk) 03:34, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Lone Indian.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Lone Indian.png. Misplaced Pages gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Misplaced Pages, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Misplaced Pages:Media copyright questions. 22:08, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of A W Neill Middle School

A W Neill Middle School, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that A W Neill Middle School satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not" and the Misplaced Pages deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/A W Neill Middle School and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of A W Neill Middle School during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thanks for posting the announcement of the article at the portal.--Riurik 07:35, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Danylo Shumuk

Bobanni. Thanks for starting this artcicle. Shumuk is a fascinating character. I has more stuff on him which I will add in the new year. Regards Eduvalko (talk) 15:51, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Award

The Exceptional Newcomer Award
You have shown yourself worthy of this a while back, so here it is for creating Ukrainian Helsinki group and Danylo Shumuk, among what I hope will be many more of these in the future. Congrats!--Riurik 06:44, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

TDSB

You are engaging in original research because you are taking two primary sources and making your own conclusions. You also have no source for the claim of Holdomar denial - it is your own personal conclusion but unless you can find a verifiable and reliable source that makes this accusation against the TDSB we cannot put that in. Reggie Perrin (talk) 22:42, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Please see WP:OR and, in particular, WP:SYNTH. We do not do primary research here, I'm afraid. What you need is a third-party source such as a newspaper, magazine or journal article which makes these assertions. Reggie Perrin (talk) 22:43, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

З Новим роком

Thanks for making all of those Ukrainian culture articles. I hope you can keep creating them in the new year. Thanks, Ostap 00:20, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Categorizing

Hello, Bobanni. Please add categories to the articles that you create. For example, the article Christmas traditions in Ukraine could have been categorized as Category:Ukrainian culture or on the lines of Category:Christianity in Ukraine. All categories can be found in the Category tree. Thank you! :) --Boguslav (talk) 04:17, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Ukrainian embroidery

If only you were on wikipedia now, you could see your Ukrainian embroidery article on the main page. Ostap 03:22, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Updated DYK query On 4 January, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Ukrainian embroidery, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Here's a permanent link . I don't know if it will work later based on the way the main page is composed. Congratulations in any case! --Royalbroil 05:15, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Come now, you were the one who created the article. If you find editing Ukrainian topics to be fun, you might want to join the Ukrainian wikiproject and of course always keep an eye on the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements. Writing about topics such as these is also a great way to learn. I hope you can keep making new Ukrainian pages and have fun :) Ostap 05:59, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Natalka Poltavka

Since the Kotlyarevsky play was written first, I changed it around so it credits him rather than Lysenko. I hope you don't mind. If you want to write about just the Lysenko operetta, you can always change it back. regards, Ostap 00:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

And thanks for the Svitlychna correction. Ostap 00:57, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
