Misplaced Pages policy (]) is very clear that unsourced information can be removed on the spot, by any editor. Feel free to delete it from the Misplaced Pages article. You may also wish to add {{tl|fact}} tags to request citations. Either option is acceptable. Be cautious about edit-warring about it (see ]), but a one-time deletion is usually fine. --]]] 21:53, 4 April 2008 (UTC) |

Welcome!
Hello, Jason47a, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Misplaced Pages
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Misplaced Pages:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}}
before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome! --Elonka 02:36, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Website
(replying to the comment of yours that I saw on KellyAna's page) Hi Jason, glad to have you aboard! We'd love to have you join Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Soap Operas, where we try to centralize some of the work on the soap articles of Misplaced Pages. Feel free to add your name to the participants list there. Also, you might want to mention your site on your userpage. What's the URL, I'd love to take a look? --Elonka 02:44, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the link! I can tell you put a lot of work into it, and I look forward to reading it. :)
- I see you're posting a couple messages to people who you feel have been less than kind in their comments about your site. Could you please point me to where these comments are? I am an administrator, and if there's something around that violates our policies on civility, I can look into getting the information removed. But I have to see it first to make a determination. So, any hints? :) --Elonka 03:16, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll review the comments. Also, just generally speaking, sometimes when Misplaced Pages editors say a website is "unreliable", it's sort of a shorthand. It doesn't necessarily mean that the site is wrong, it just means that it may not pass what we call our reliable source standard. Sometimes there's superb information out there on fansites and message boards, but we're not allowed to use it because it came from a fan rather than an official source. I'm sure you know how that goes! Sometimes you hear really interesting information, but you're not sure whether to trust it or not. So on Misplaced Pages, our rules are that we have to stick with "trusted" sources. Your site looks like a great resource, but unfortunately we can't use it, if that makes sense? --Elonka 03:42, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I agree that some of the comments were inappropriate, and for what it's worth, I apologize. Those comments were not in accordance with the Misplaced Pages policy on no personal attacks, and I have deleted them from the page. If there are any other problems I should take a look at, please don't hesitate to get in touch. --Elonka 05:50, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Please refrain
As I stated on my talk page, please do not comment. Any additional comments will be removed, as was your last comment. I have said all I will say on the subject. This is not to be incivil, it is to avoid incivility and stating my true feelings which would not be a civil thing to do. Thank you for respecting my wishes. Re: Constant removal of my questions, etc...
IrishLass0128: Thanks for removing the entire segment of our chat. That was the only fair thing to do, since you kept removing my statements and questions from your talk page, but keeping up your inaccurate statements about me on the talk page. Glad to see you have taken the whole segment off your page. Jason Jason47a (talk) 18:44, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Comment
It is unacceptable to change another editors comments on a talk page. Please refrain from doing that again in the future. As for "removing" what you call a chat (something it was not), no I have archived them for safe keeping after removal of "your edits". Continued contributions to my page will be noted as harrassment as I have politely asked you not to bother me. I will be apprising Elonka of the situation. IrishLass (talk) 18:50, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Wrapup
Jason, IrishLass has a point.
To clarify my own involvement here, Jason, you brought to my attention certain comments that were made about you and your website which you felt were inappropriate. I agreed that some of the comments were personal attacks, and those comments have been deleted. However, rather than that being the end of the matter, you then again went to the talkpages of both individuals involved, to continue to express your concerns about the deleted comments. When IrishLass told you that she was no longer interested in discussing the matter (and from what I could see, she was showing admirable restraint in how she expressed her thoughts), you continued to pursue her. You also posted a message on my own talkpage, where you described people as being "hateful". To be clear, that is an uncivil comment, especially because it appears to be directed at specific individuals. Please review the Misplaced Pages policies on civility and no personal attacks.
As a reminder, Misplaced Pages talkpages are here to be used to discuss the addition of content to Misplaced Pages. User talkpages are meant as a way to communicate with other users, about Misplaced Pages content. I have been trying to assume good faith and give you a lot of leeway since we try to be welcoming to new editors, but so far, as near as I can tell, you have not actually assisted with any content creation or editing on Misplaced Pages. Instead you seem mainly concerned with correcting the perception of your website. A website which everyone agrees cannot be used as a source for anything on Misplaced Pages. Further, even when comments of concern are deleted, you have been undeleting them to bring them back up again.
My recommendation at this point, is to wipe the slate clean. You've said your piece, please let it drop. Neither KellyAna nor IrishLass0128 is required to like your site. If they have opinions about its reliability, and they express those opinions in a civil and measured way, they are within their rights to do so. At this point though, I think that everyone is clear that your site is not usable as a source, so I doubt it will need to be brought up again.
Bottom line, I think this has been discussed enough, and it's best if we close this matter. If you have any other comments that are directly relevant to Misplaced Pages articles, I encourage you to participate in the project, as we can definitely use all the help we can get. I think you would be a good editor to have onboard with the Soap Operas WikiProject, if you would like to join. You are not intimidated by wiki syntax, and your writing ability is very good. But as regards any previous comments which have been deleted, I think we're done. --Elonka 18:53, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Re: Chat
I already apprised Elonka of the situation. I only added that edit in your post since you kept removing everything I said and kept up your inaccurate statements about me. I'm done posting on your talk page, so no worries. I was just expecting a simple clarification about Kristen Renton's contract, but if you want to refuse to answer that question, that's fine. As I said earlier, please remember I never asked to be considered a reliable source on here. I just wanted the inaccurate statements about me removed. Thanks, Jason Jason47a (talk) 18:57, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
Re: Wrapping things up
Hi Elonka. One of the other editors was the one who said we were hateful enemies. I did not state that, as I don't have any hateful feelings toward anyone. I was just surprised someone considers me an enemy, when I don't even know them. I understand no one has to like my site, but I should have a right to defend myself when they are saying such rude things about me personally. I wasn't defending my site. It was things directed right at me, calling me a joke, an idiot, etc... I have said my peace and will let it drop. Just try to make sure no negative comments are directed towards me personally. You can say what you want about my site, but I don't think personal attacks are welcome, as you have stated previously. I'm busy enough with my own site, so I will have to refrain from joining in on the SoapOperas WikiProject. Thanks for the complement about my writing ability. It's much appreciated. All the best on your future endeavors. Jason Jason47a (talk) 19:05, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. I will keep an eye out, and if you notice anything else which you feel is a personal attack, please don't hesitate to bring it to my attention. --Elonka 19:19, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:List of Days of our Lives cast members, is considered as a bad practice, even if you meant well. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. As for your concern about other information being used from your site (and I agree, Misplaced Pages can be terribly inconsistent sometimes), if you would like, simply add next to the relevant information. Ideally this should be a reliable source, but in the absence of any other source, a fansite is sometimes acceptable for non-contentious information. You can also add the {{fact}} tag next to anything which you feel should have a source, but doesn't yet. This will tag it as needing a citation.Thank you. Elonka 19:36, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
