Hello East718, i notice you have deleted my recent image upload. Can I ask on what grounds? I have been given permission from the copyright holder. Do I need to show evidence for this or something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Voncrass (talkcontribs) 00:07, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

That shouldn't be a problem, I already have his permission. So how do I go about getting licensing, is there some procedure to follow? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Voncrass (talkcontribs) 00:15, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Image:VictoriaV07.jpg

Hi, I'm requesting that you restore Image:VictoriaV07.jpg. I propose to use this in Seras Victoria. It was used there previously, but was replaced with fan art (Image:Seras 16-1.jpg) of the character. Since both are non-free, I think the picture used in the work itself better illustrates the character. Thanks, --Phirazo 01:00, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Zuoken

Hello! :) Late last year, Zuoken was proposed for deletion. Five days passed and no one contested it, so you deleted the article as expected. In retrospect, I feel someone should have merged and/or redirected the article to List of Greyhawk deities. After the fact, I decided to create a redirect anyway. I'm wondering if it's possible to restore the original article, and turn it into a redirect, thus preserving the edit history? If you agree, you can obliterate the current edit history, or just add it to the original edit history. Thanks, BOZ (talk) 02:35, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

You're awesome, thanks! :) BOZ (talk) 02:37, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Why did you delete something on my userspace without premission? — ComputerGuy890100What I've done to help Misplaced Pages 15:47, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Why did you delete it at all? There was no need to delete it and consensus of the Misplaced Pages community was to keep it. — BQZip01 —  20:54, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes, there may have been some conflict, but the discussion at WP:ANI was almost strictly amongst admins. No outside input seems to have been elicited (i.e. "A page in your user space has been nominated for deletion..." or anything along those lines. With contrary inputs from a large portion of the community (2 admins vs. ~20 users), I do not believe you should have initiated such an action, at least without some discussion from the Misplaced Pages Community. I've noticed a recent spat of "This is not productive and should be deleted" mentality across Misplaced Pages where the harm is nonexistent and the time wasted defending such spurious request is problematic (I'm NOT saying this is the case here, but that this is where I am coming from). I humbly request that the deleted pages simply be put up for discussion at WP:MfD where wider community input can be assessed; I think that is only fair. — BQZip01 —  04:44, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Revert script

Unapproved bot added lots of poorly formed links per Misplaced Pages:Administrators'_noticeboard#ANI_is_locked, you got a script that can fix that? MBisanz 16:24, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

When list1 and list2 are eventually created (going on 100 hours and I'm only at Album covers, but eh), where will they drop to? Directory or wiki? MBisanz 05:46, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Well right now its showing a consistent 50% CPU usage and a 146MB memory footprint, out of 2,667MB available. Until it hits like 250MB, I'm not that concerned about system stability. MBisanz 20:06, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Josiah leming deletion-Want Josiah Leming page

I want a Josiah Leming page.

I was aware that a while back that it was up for discussion, but since the page was available whenever I checked, I thought that the discussion had ended in favor of having a Josiah Leming page. I attended a week long conference away from the internet and find I missed the discussion during that time frame. If I could have been allowed to participate, I would have strongly favored keeping a Josiah Leming page.

A dedicated Josiah Leming page was useful to me and represented what I liked about Misplaced Pages, which was popular, current, and hot topics that are in a process of change so that it is worth my time to check the Misplaced Pages page from time to time. Historical and demographic information that is fairly static is easy enough to find from other sources. If I have to dig through another page to find information about Josiah Leming then that also defeats the purpose of Misplaced Pages being quick and easy to use versus another source. Without a page like a Josiah Leming page being available, Misplaced Pages is too much like the competition and frankly is not much use to me.

Watching someone who has great potential launch a career with a fascinating background story, this is the point in the time of someone’s life that I find most interesting, compared to years later when I have heard the same facts over and over again. Also he is someone young who has experienced more than average several lifetimes. He also was a very controversial cut on the most popular television show currently. I find him to be fascinating and notable. He has that “it factor”.

Glancing at the list of other topics that are still waiting to be included, I am wondering if there is a snob factor toward popular culture or at the very least, a gap between the decision makers who decide what is notable versus other segments of the population. I do wish that the decision makers at Misplaced Pages had a wider understanding of what different groups in the population find to be notable.

I do comprehend that Misplaced Pages is overwhelmed with requests for topics, but I have little interest in most of the other pages offered by Misplaced Pages. Frankly, I am enough of a data geek that I don’t really need Misplaced Pages to find information. Misplaced Pages was mostly a nice starter page to move on to more detailed sites or in the case of Josiah Leming, a nice page to find quick and timely information that was also abbreviated enough that I found comfortable enough to refer to other people.

I understand that you were following policy, specifically deletion policy. I have a master’s degree in public policy and years of government experience dealing with policies. However, I have policies of my own and I will maintain a personal policy of boycotting all other Misplaced Pages pages until a Josiah Leming page exists again.

If Josiah Leming is not notable enough for Misplaced Pages policies, then Misplaced Pages is not notable enough for me to use. By having policies that excludes a page such as Josiah Leming, then I am obviously not the intended audience for the current Misplaced Pages anyway. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Soapbox0916 (talkcontribs) 21:48, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Pick away. Also, do you change your signature every 5 minutes? Basketball110  Talk  03:41, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Well, Basketball110 could have siblings and networked computers that use the same IP. Especially if a home-brewed server is incorporated, in which case only the sever's IP would only be reported. Additionally, if the service provider doesn't provide a static IP (ie. DialUP, Municipal WIFI, or in rarity DSL), then the IP could easily be that of another's or an entire group. RC-0722 /1 03:44, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm not in Saint Louis. Basketball110  Talk  03:45, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
I would like to ask you a question myself: If you get mad at another administrator on Misplaced Pages again, will you use a sock to vandalize their page? --Chetblong/Sign 03:47, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

'Again?' You are implying that I vandalized the page? In any case, no. Basketball110  Talk  03:48, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

I thought we just solved that problem with numerous answers! RC-0722 /1 03:53, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
What? Basketball110  Talk  03:55, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
(reply to above) removed's headquarters are in St. Louis, but your IP address goes to removed, which is around removed. And no, you're not running a server (I checked), and you have a long-term IP lease. So let's stop insulting my intelligence and quit pretending that you didn't do this, kthx? I know how it goes. You got pissed at CBM for putting your name in his mouth and wanted to show him what's good. You logged out and blanked his userpage to get a rush thinking nobody would know. Well, I did and we're here. Got some better answers? east.718 at 03:56, April 5, 2008
"Insulting your intelegence" Huh? How? Also, there is no way to tell if one has a long term IP lease unless you happen to have checked with the DynDNS registetry or equivilant service. RC-0722 /1 04:04, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
(ec)I ran my own traceroute and it shows its linked to a static IP in the state of removed. Personally, I think East is going easy on you. MBisanz 04:05, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
First, what is "kthx?" Basketball110  Talk  04:07, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
A) "kthx" is "K thanks" B) IP address tracers aren't that accurate, as I did mine and it said I lived in Dayton, OH. RC-0722 /1 04:09, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Picking at my brain usually doesn't make me shake all over. Do you do this to everyone, or did I walk into the wrong bar? Basketball110  Talk  04:11, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Actually, East is one of the nicer admins whose less likely to block first and then ask questions. I can think of half a dozen admins who would've indef blocked as soon as they saw the connection. The fact he's giving you a chance to admit what happened, apologize and move on is rather impressive to me. MBisanz 04:16, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for that word of encouragment. The fact is that I don't remember vandalizing that page (now with all this, I'm convinced I did). I probably did, but I don't particularly remember it. But if you were in my position (I'm not just talking about the allegations of canvassing) I would bet a lot of money that you would have done the same thing, if not worse. I apologize. Two things though... it's actually removed, not removed. And you didn't answer my sig question, East. Ladies and gentlemen of Misplaced Pages (half of which are watch this, or I feel that way)... pick away. Basketball110  Talk  04:20, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Another non-apology apology... sigh... I don't even know why I'm chasing this since I'm not going to block you - that would not be a good look so late. And no, most people wouldn't have done worse. They would have participated in a civil conversation with the user in question, or asked for assistance if they felt backed down for some reason. I'm obviously trying to squeeze blood from a stone here, so I won't pursue this any further. Oh, and my sig is magic. east.718 at 04:28, April 5, 2008
For personal reasons, i'm not going to tell you what they are, but under conditions, you would have, believe me. Basketball110  Talk  04:30, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
East being one of the nicer admins isn't the issue. The matter is is that he has accused Basketball110 of being a sockpuppet and essentially a vandal. Now, we given several answers and none of them were taken seriously and were considered an insult upon his intelligence. RC-0722 /1 04:23, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
East718, Since Basketball110 has apologized I recommend you remove this post from your talk page since it includes personal information. Thank you.--Uga Man (talk) UGA MAN FOR PRESIDENT 2008 04:32, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

For anyone who comes across this discussion at a later date and wishes to investigate and analyse the edit in question, it was made to User:CBM on March 26, 2008. Daniel (talk) 05:46, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
That vandalism is not confirmed. RC-0722 /1 13:05, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes it is. Are you saying that it isn't vandalism? Daniel (talk) 14:04, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
No, I am saying that it isn't confirmed that Basketball110 did it. RC-0722 /1 14:09, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
STOP IT! I did it. I even said so. Block me forever if you must, just quit arguing! Basketball110  Talk  14:13, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
(edit conflict) An IP who is quite obviously his vandalized CBM's userpage just 25 minutes after CBM called him out for canvassing regarding userspace games. There is significant evidence to the contrary, especially given the IP isn't shared. Daniel (talk) 14:14, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
What was that edit classified as, just so I know. Basketball110 18:16, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Quick memo

Just a heads-up: I just unprotected a page you'd locked in December 2007 over an OTRS complaint. Hopefully the article can now be worked on constructively, but obviously you know more about the circumstances than I do, so if there's a reason why it needs to stay protected, feel free to reprotect. Martha Logan Image

Regarding this, could you restore the image? I'm now (as of today) the WikiProject 24 Co-ordinatior, and one of my aims is to write proper NFCC rationales for these images. Could you restore the image and whatever rationale there was? I will write a proper rationale straight away. Cheers, Steve Crossin (talk) (anon talk) 20:08, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Does this rationale look OK? I've never been tagged by BetaCommandBot, i just want to be 100% sure it's OK. Steve Crossin (talk) (anon talk) 20:18, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Heh, thanks. I feel I'm good at rationales. If you see any more 24 images up for deletion due to rationale issues, could you message me? And I'll fix it myself. Steve Crossin (talk) (anon talk) 20:25, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Adoption Program

Well, my program was deleted. Do you think I could at least keep the classroom? Any comments?--RyRy5 23:29, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, it will be different. If it sounds or looks almost the same, you can delete it, or someone else can instead. You don't have to accept. But I at least need something to teach my adoptees. I have depleted my adoptees to only 1-3, so it won't be very active. Can I at least give an example of the classroom?--RyRy5 23:40, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
I plan to have a page where my adoptees can have goals to accoplish. For Example,1 week:make 50 mainspace edits. It is an easier way of remembering if there is a special page.--RyRy5 23:58, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I won't create it. I appreciate you trying to help me. Thanks! Do you have any comments?--RyRy5 00:06, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
