Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    Mujahideen (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Full protection - the Bosnia and Herzegovina section of the article is experiencing continuous reverts and edit warring due to a serious content dispute. A request for mediation has been made. Protection of the article until the dispute has been solved or tempers cooled, would be beneficial. It should be noted that the Bosnian mujahideen article has been protected due to similar content disputes. Protecting this article would be in line with this.Osli73 (talk) 15:23, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

semi-protect for 2 weeks. High level of IP vandalism, based on recent minor controversy on campus. Lyonscc (talk)

See this note on the talk page -- Lyonscc is a censor maniac and abuses WP rules to his favor. Please protect with this newsworthy and well sourced content preserved. 71.173.127.96 (talk) 13:55, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Please note that 71.173.127.96 (talk) is one of several IP vandals (from both/all three sides of a current campus controversy) who have been warring over content on the page, inserting & removing & interpreting controversies on recent firings, the disallowing of dancing and other school events. I am in no way related to , but was contacted by a couple of other editors to try and help with the page, which seemed to have settled down, but has flared back up with more IP vandalism, such as with 71.173.127.96.--Lyonscc (talk) 14:26, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

temporary full protection Edit warring and there is not much interest in discussion. Some BLP concerns are involved but they are minor. I'm involved in the reversions but I think this should be hashed out so I'm listing this at the third party board. Maybe you could protect until after a mediator or third party has weighed in? --PTR (talk) 12:13, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

They made their first change 19 minutes after the last month of semi-protection wore off. They seem to be very persistant. The child is female though has a generally male name. Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Christopher Haskins, Baron Haskins of Skidby (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

I am trying to create an article for Lord Haskins. I created a redirect at Christopher Robin Haskins and tried redirecting it to Christopher Haskins, Baron Haskins and Christopher Haskins, Baron Haskins of Skidby - both of which are currently blocked. The edit war between user Watchdogb and me has been resolved for the most part. We have decided if we are to make any edits to the articles they should be backed up by sources. And if there is a problem we should discuss it before making any reverts. In essence we will talk before starting a brawl. Top Gun 20:46, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

    Mirth (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

I do not dispute the fact that this article should be protected, but I do believe that the page should exist. USS Mirth (AM-265) is commonly called Mirth, so it stands to reason that Mirth should redirect there. Neelix (talk) 18:57, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Current requests for significant edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
