Now, my edit was also automatically undone by this bot. It was not vandalism and it has its source specified. The article is short, but this is valid information about a recent artwork they have done which has had global distribution with the album. --74.13.55.254 (talk) 22:08, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

The hiccups of bot-editing Misplaced Pages

I notice that at 01.49 on April 30, VoABot II twice reverted anonymous corrections of vandalism to the article John Paul Jones back to the (signed) vandalised version. If VoABot were human, it would be facing a 24-hour block about now... David Trochos (talk) 18:03, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Nonsense. They were not "anonymous corrections of vandalism". They were vandalisms in their own right: and . The fact that these reversions left earlier vandalism untouched is immaterial. Philip Trueman (talk) 15:55, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Mayfield Park

Just wondered why the Mayfield Park, Southampton page that I'd barely started to create (in good faith) was deleted immediately? It is a park. A green open space, with trees, birds, flowers, swings for the kids and some interesting history (Mayfield Park). It is definitely not a club, band etc.

Somebody or something is being a bit over zealous !

The park was formerly part of William Chamberlayne's estate It contains a memorial to Charles James Fox It also contains the site of a water-powered wood-working mill established by Walter Taylor in 1762. Troops were camped there in the build-up to D-Day

There's enough there to be significant contribution to Misplaced Pages I would think ! Hethurs (talk) 23:37, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Any page can be recreated, if it meets the criteria. For something like this I'd at least put in some sources. Voice-of-All 00:41, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

The page was deleted so quickly, I didn't have a chance to put in the links. I was still working on it having made an initial start. I understood from the article on what to do if your page is deleted that it is not lost, it can be retrieved. Perhaps you would be good enough to retrieve it ! Hethurs (talk) 08:49, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Please don't chase away good editors

... Misplaced Pages already has enough bots doing that. One edit, and the user made the sentence grammatically correct by adding an s to two words, and your bot probably chased him away forever. Thanks. The reason the article Homebox and so many genetics articles are prone to vandalism is because there are so few good editors working in these areas. When editors come by they get attacked by bots and accused of vandalism. This does not improve Misplaced Pages, it does the contrary: it gets rid of good editors and provides a safe haven for crap. --Blechnic (talk) 01:07, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
