John Carmichael is a Scientology ecclesiastic minister and president of the Church of Scientology organization in New York. He has appeared in numerous radio, television and printed publications as a representative of the Church of Scientology in New York.

Career

In 2002, John Carmichael was recognized for his efforts to aid with the tragedy of 9/11 by being named as a recipient of the IAS Freedom Valor medal.

Controversy

On May 27, 2008, John Carmichael was videotaped by a group of young persons from the Internet group Anonymous demonstrating against the Church of Scientology NY on 42nd Street and Broadway. During the confrontation, John Carmichael was recorded on video uttering a number of obscenities at the demonstrators and caught further on video stalking the persons after the demonstration had concluded and after the police had told him several times to stop following the demonstrators.
