Read BEFORE Posting:

  • Vandalism and other offensive commentary/trolling will be deleted expeditiously.
  • If you want me to respond/take your comments seriously, sign them with ~~~~.
  • Be sure to be signed in. Anonymous users will have their messages deleted without comment.
  • I will respond on your talk page, but I will not return to your talk page after that unless you've responded on my talk page. Sounds convoluted, but I'd rather be editing articles than reading your talk page.
  • Add your comments to the bottom of the page.
  • If you don't agree with a change that I've made to an article, please let me know nicely and I will address the issue.

Hello

This is in response to your question. Things are going pretty well, I'm trying to pass the time, thinking of not sleeping in an attempt to sleep early monday night to reset the 'ol biological clock. A mug of coke and 3 of coffee brewing and so forth. I've been checking out the different parts of Misplaced Pages and all the projects and I think if I get involved in them it'll feel like I'm doing something more productive and suited to the way I think and like to address many things. I really like your userpage, it is set up much neater and more concisely than mine. If I can ever figure out coding and graphics interfaces for wikilanguage then I might try something like that sometime. I just noticed that you got the disclaimer for talk page from me, thanks for listing and all that. It makes me wonder, I never asked but that Ardenn guy might have gotten it elsewhere too, it is like some sort of induction chain. Tyciol (talk) 02:53, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Nipissing University

I am GREATLY offended by your edit summary that said "re-established pre-vandalised version" when I did NOT vandalise anything. I have half a mind to report this to WP:ANI. GreenJoe 00:59, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

I never said that you vandalised anything. I said "re-established pre-vandalised version". The content "The Nipissing University Student Union Council comprises mainly of two parts: the powerful executive council and the largely uninfluential student representatives. They function in much the same way the Galactic Senate and Chancellor Palpatine co-existed, with each having incredible regard for the other's concerns. Chancellor Palpatine was a jolly sith lord and he would never have done anything to jeopardize the establishment." is plainly vandalism and the editor who inserted it will be in the history. List of highways in Warren County NY FLC

Hey, is there any chance you could look this over? Things have been changed when it comes to references and it would help if you could. Thanks.32 14:41, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

KillAllSpammers/TeerGrub block

Holy cow, GreenJoe, I just noticed your request for checkuser on KillAllSpammers/TeerGrub ... and that it checked out positive and has resulted in a block. Very much appreciate your help. Also appreciate knowing ... suspected but glad to know for sure. Thirdbeach (talk) 17:52, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Advice please: What's the etiquette/advisability around actually creating the page below Category:Suspected_Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_KillAllSpammers? It currently exists as an empty link. I realize there's always a workaround and this editor is determined, but would at least be a starting point. Thanks. Thirdbeach (talk) 20:46, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

University of Victoria Students' Society

I was a little frustrated to discover that the entire history section I added was removed. I understand the concerns about a lack of citations, but this could have been requested, or at the very least questionable sections deleted rather than the entire thing. Personally I don't think that a few controversies from the last 10 years constitutes a rigorous history of a society with over 40 years of history, but perhaps we can compromise? I am happy to put in the work of inserting varifiable references for my entire section, but I would like to know before I start the work that we are operating in good faith with one another.Jgroves (talk) 21:23, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

Centre for Distance Education

Hi there, I don't know if I can email it to you but I can certainly move it to a safe place for you. I've put it here. Thanks, Mallanox 19:53, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Evan M. Whidden

I added categories and two books to Evan M. Whidden You may want to revisit Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Evan M. Whidden. --Eastmain (talk) 15:45, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

NWT

No problem; I just wanted to rescue it, because it had been nominated for a speedy as empty and the article, while a stub, was not a good candidate for speedy. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:05, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Algoma University

Thanks for the redirect. Funny, I have been editing articles for 2 years and still cannot for the life of me figure out how to rename pages and do redirects... Dbrodbeck (talk) 22:40, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Federal presence in higher education in Canada

Hi GreenJoe! I was tempted to remove the prod on Federal presence in higher education in Canada and Higher education in the Yukon but wondered first why you consider it original research. Perhaps you saw something that I missed. Thanks, DoubleBlue (Talk) 23:26, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. I'll have another closer read before I decide and I'll let you know, if you like. Cheers! DoubleBlue (Talk) 01:02, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
I see that you noticed that I decided to deny these prods. The Fed presence is best part of Higher Ed in Canada and I don't think it's completely covered there now. I agree there are sections of OR in the Yukon article but I think it's salvageable. Cheers! DoubleBlue (Talk) 02:07, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Category:Higher education in Canada

I made two claims in my edit comment:

When you say to me "You're wrong" - which one of the above is wrong? Education in Canada consists of

  • Higher education in Canada
  • Post-secondary education in Canada
  • Primary education in Canada

These should be grouped together in one category, which captures all elements of education in the country. This is the standard practice for categorisation throughout Misplaced Pages. If you don't agree with this practice, then by all means, propose changes to the policy and reach consensus for it. Telling other editors that they're wrong simply because you disagree with them is never an effective approach. Anyway, since we disagree, I'll take this to the CWNB to get input from other editors. (Please reply here, I'll watch your talk page.) Mindmatrix 01:24, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Speedy tag on Mapleview Heights Elementary School

please note A7 specifically says schools are not eligible for speedy TravellingCari 16:08, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

and the same applies to Prince of Wales Public School (Barrie) TravellingCari 16:13, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
AFDs would be fine. Most of the schools from Template:SCDSBSchools seems non notable. Cenarium 16:21, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
To be totally honest, AfDs are also a waste of time. 99% of time elementary and middle schools are merged to the district and high schools are kept except in extenuating circumstances such as copyvios, vandalism and special awards. Just do the merge, there's no need to do an AfD. TravellingCari 16:30, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
ETA, the archives show what tends to happen: Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Schools/archive TravellingCari 16:30, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I concur. But there's not really much to merge here, so a proposed deletion should be okay. Cenarium 16:38, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Not going to contest because I don't care enough, but I can virtually guaratee you that someone will. People are passionate about schools TravellingCari 16:59, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
