:::::No, quite serious. Where does it say that if somebody is Armenian, he or she cannot be a contributor to a non-Armenian culture? I find it amusing, Vartan, that you become equally concerned when ethnic Armenians are not given credit for their contributions to Azerbaijani history , and when they are (such as in this article). And I actually thought you were joking when you mentioned that he "fled Baku." How does that even affect him having worked with the Azerbaijani Philharmonic Society for years? We have people like ] who was not an ethnic Russian and who had fled the Soviet Union as a result of persecutions, but who would not consider him a Russian novelist? I think you have got yourself a little confused in your quest to remove as many references to Azerbaijan on Misplaced Pages, as possible. :) ] (]) 10:18, 8 July 2008 (UTC) :::::No, quite serious. ::::::I think you need a take a look at ]. Contributing to ones culture doesn't make you a national of that culture. Especially when that nation tries to kill you and your family. As for your childish claim that I'm trying to delete references to Azerbaijan, you need to pay close attention to my first comment on this page. On a side note, I feel pity for the Great nation of Azerbaijan that it has no violinists of its own and must steal Armenian ones. :) ] (]) 20:26, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Category

I removed the Azeri violinist category because it was miscategorized. I would have no problems having a Category:Violinists from Baku. Having a category Azerbaijani violinist and then putting the same category under violinists by nationality is misleading. VartanM (talk) 10:24, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

He qualifies for an Azerbaijani violinist as he was directly involved in Azerbaijani music industry from 1977 to 1989. Parishan (talk) 07:41, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Parishan, the category Azerbaijani violinists is nested under Violinists by nationality. Are you claiming that his an Azerbaijani? Also you're probably forgetting the fact, that he and his family fled Baku. And try to have a little sense of humor, your life will turn to better, trust me. VartanM (talk) 06:53, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Yes, nationality. Not ethnicity. As for fleeing, Siavash Ghomayshi fled Iran in 1979 too, but he is still an Iranian singer. Parishan (talk) 07:21, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
LOL, was that a joke? VartanM (talk) 07:35, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
No, quite serious. We have people like Sergei Dovlatov who was not an ethnic Russian and who had fled the Soviet Union as a result of persecutions, but who would not consider him a Russian novelist? I think you have got yourself a little confused in your quest to remove as many references to Azerbaijan on Misplaced Pages, as possible. :) Parishan (talk) 10:18, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
I think you need a take a look at WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. :) VartanM (talk) 20:26, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
