Okay, thank you. That helps a lot. Now, I saw your situation and I can sympathize. I first came to Misplaced Pages a long time ago because of someone missattributing a situation. I ran into many of the same problems as you. What I learned is that I took some of the things that were offensive to me or people seeming too cold in too harsh of a manner. Instead of trying to tell them what knowledge I had and trying to work with them to make it "encyclopedic", I berated them and attacked them. I learned since then not to cuss and tried to tone down my yelling. :) Now, don't give out your personal information here, because there are privacy rules that the state of Florida (et al) forces Misplaced Pages to follow. However, I would like to help you with this. Could you link to the original press releases on the matter and other items? That way, we can "reference" them on the page and have direct attributions. Otherwise, people wont realize where we are getting our information from and there could be copyright problems. Sure, if you are around, you could tell them, but if Misplaced Pages should last for decades, you won't always be around, so its best to get that out of the way early. Understand? Plus, we need to tone down the first person language in order to sound more "encyclopedic". I hope you wont mind. ] (]) 18:31, 8 August 2008 (UTC) Okay, thank you. That helps a lot. Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page AMBER Alert do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Misplaced Pages is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Misplaced Pages uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. TerriersFan (talk) 23:11, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

What did I Violate I for 1 am Bruce Seybert and did release the Amber Alert and the Link I Posted was the Facts and History what was wrong?? Please tell! it is My Page! TXBad1 aka Bruce Seybert

Amber Alert

Hi, I saw that you reverted my changes to the history section of AMBER Alert. As you were doing a lot of reversions, I'm unclear whether you meant to do that or not, so I have re-reverted to my version. Just in case you actually meant to do that, let me explain why I made the changes that I did:

a) I removed POV, so that the article would more neutrally reflect the events that occured.
b) I removed excessive detail. This article should not be relating all the details of Amber Hagerman's disappearance and the search for her. Those details belong in the article on Amber Hagerman. Only what is directly relevant to the creation of the AMBER Alert belongs in the article on the AMBER alert.
c) The history section contained uncited quotations. That is a big no-no on Misplaced Pages. Quotations should be attributed to reliable sources, which could include newspaper and magazines. It does not include self-published websites.
d) I rewrote the section so that it had a proper encyclopedic tone.
e) I also wikified the article, so that it now has wikilinks to let people get more information about different people or concepts mentioned.

If you believe any of the information I removed actually does belong in the article, please discuss your changes on the article talk page first. Furthermore, I see that you have self-identified as being someone associated with the AMBER alert. For your own protection, it might be wise to read Misplaced Pages's conflict of interest policy so that you do not inadvertently violate the guideline. Please note that being involved in real-life with the article topic does not make you the owner of the article; on Misplaced Pages everyone is encouraged to edit every article. I released the Amber alerts and the History is reflective and true! so I am reverting back, People need to learn the Facts not fiction!

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Amber Alert. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Wikipidia has been Notified and if the Facts are not stated will be forced to remove anything about the Name Amber Alert from its Pages, this is being trademarked and will be an infringement, the picture of Amber Hagerman has no releases and as the person over this as given rights by Donna Norris Amber's mother this will happen!

Please retract the implicit legal threat contained in the statement above. That can get you blocked. Please also note that no one changed the meaning of the content you are edit-warring over, only the tone in which it is presented. Karanacs (talk) 17:54, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages has been called and we talked!on the phone! and not a threat its facts, thus no violation has been broken! No threat was made to any user on here just facts stated! TXBad1 13:12 august 8, 2008

Blocked

You have been blocked for a period of 24 hours for violating the three reverts rule at AMBER Alert. You may resume editing after the block expires, but continued edit warring may result in longer blocks without further warning. Please discuss your changes instead of reverting, rather than in addition to it.

Also, while you are free to pursue legal remedies through proper channels, bear in mind that discussing those actions on talk pages can be perceived as a legal threat and may result in an indefinite block. You won't win any arguments that way. Base your arguments on their own merits, not on threats of retaliation. Kafziel 18:39, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
