Ehm, that wasn't me... I just approved it for DYK, let's honour User:Arsenikk instead, who did the work on this article. Lampman (talk) 09:46, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Some questions
Thanks for that welcoming post.Glad to know Misplaced Pages still welcomes new blood.I've got some questions: 1]How exactly do I create a new page? The following is about the Mulund article, suburb of Mumbai. 2]How do I ask for someone to check whether articles marked for cleanup are good enough to be removed from the "requiring cleanup" list? 3]After the article is removed, can I ask for a rating from the same persons or is there some other group which does the rating stuff?
And after all that,is top posting on someone's talk page considered bad, like the protocol in mailing lists?

- Great work with these AP DYKs. I was excited to see articles on some of the places I visited on my last trip to India! Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 20:03, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
- My extended family is split between Hyderabad and Hanamakonda. What about you? Speaking of Hanamakonda, that article is in pretty poor shape. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 02:54, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's unfortunate that none of the regional papers are available on the Internet. Yes, I visited Thousand Pillars Temple multiple times during my visit. It was about 10-20 minutes away from my relatives' homes. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 17:09, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
- Ticket 2008070510003273 was set to be handled by Riana, but there's no internal comment regarding the copyright status of the image. Since Riana is no longer active, I'd recommend you contact ask another OTRS volunteer (I'm an OTRS volunteer, but I haven't handled any requests before) to process the request. I'd recommend Nihiltres (talk · contribs) or Howcheng (talk · contribs) to help you. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 17:30, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Update
Thanks for your reply.I removed the cleanup tag on the Mulund article and added a B rating and mid-importance to it.Both the importance and rating may be a bit exaggerated in experienced Wikipedians' eyes, but I'm still learning what qualifies for what grade. Also added a request for assessment in the ratings section.I still didn't get how to create a new page, however,so I created an internal link and followed it to a disambiguation page, wherein I'm stuck, since the Disambiguation page doesn't allow an internal link to point to a non-existent location. :P :( EaswarH (talk) 14:56, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Re
I am not doing too bad buddy!! Just busy enjoying my summer these days!! :)) Just to let you know that we still have to send e-mails seeking permission for images from Indiafm.com. User:Riana added this part of the step so users wouldn't violate the licence and cause a huge mess like in the case of the "Bollywoodblog.com" images. Furthermore, while both of us were in talks with the people of Indiafm.com, they also agreed to this step thus we cannot just change the procedure just like that. As for the response to your other question: Yes!! This permission is still valid for the older images and new images can be uploaded from the "Bollywoodhungama.com" web domain. The founders of the site are still the same; they just happened to change the site's name from "Indiafm.com" to "Bollywoodhungama.com". On the official site, it says "Bollywoodhungama.com aka Indiafm.com". Hope this answers all your questions. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me! -- Bollywood Dreamz 17:00, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I wouldn't say it was inappropriate!! As a matter of fact, like you said, User:Riana might have incorporated this new detail. However, it is best if we stick with the original uploading procedure. Apart from Riana, I was the only one that was in talks with the people of Indiafm.com. We agreed to this licencing by going through every single detail as well as verifying the uploading procedures. Read the bottom part of the licencing under the "Template documentation", which in my opinion is very important. Best Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz 17:16, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- The "template documentation" is added by the user who uploads the image. Like I told you before, when an image is uploaded, it has to look like this. When an OTRS volunteer finds your e-mail, he or she will remove the "OTRS pending" tag and replace it with the "OTRS permission tag, including the ticket number, which contains the date the e-mail was sent to the OTRS system. When I uploaded all the previous images, User:Lucasbfr was the one who replaced the "OTRS pending" tag with the OTRS permission tag. Right now, I think the best thing to do would be to upload images according to the original uploading procedure and see what the response is from the OTRS. What do you say?? -- Bollywood Dreamz 17:37, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- It is normal as User:Riana told me before that sometimes it does take really long for the OTRS members to get back at you. After all, they are normal people just like you and I; they are busy too!! Try getting in touch with other OTRS members and see what they say. -- Bollywood Dreamz 18:02, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Hey!
How are you?? Happy to see you. Many things keep me busy these days. Unfortunately, I'm soon leaveing WP. Circumstances force me to. On the whole, everything is fine, I just have no time to commit as much as I did back in time, and I miss that at times. All my firends, User:Zora, User:Plumcouch, User:Pa7 are no longer active on here, and it saddens me. Nonetheless, I'm happy we have editors like you editing our articles and improving them. I'm sure this project will only evolve. How're you and what are you doing nowadays? Shahid • 10:51, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the kind words. Well yes I've already heard that this movie is a piece of nonsense, LOL. It's great that depite this you're trying to improve it. I'm not leaving now, but in a month or two, so I still have time to contribute as much as I can. I hope to give my utmost. Regards, Shahid • 11:19, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, dear friend, for addressing all the image notices so brilliantly. So kind of you, I'm really grateful. Shahid • 17:28, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Nepali Indian
Hi, apologies for the slow reply. I removed the speedy deletion tag from the above article as it does not meet the A7 criterion of "an article about a real person or organisation". The fact that there are notable members of that community, are 60,000 strong, and have an external reference are assertions of notability, enough to avoid a speedy deletion under the policy. A lack of notability itself is not a speedy deletion criterion; provided there is at least an assertion of notability disqualifies the article from speedy deletion. Feel free to nominate the article at AfD. Regards, EJF (talk) 16:25, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- If that reference is wrong (my Excel isn't working so I can't check it) then an AfD would probably be a good idea. Cheers, EJF (talk) 16:41, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Kosi river
Hi! Msprvaveen, Thanks for assessing most of my articles.
I have to lodge a complaint. The article on Kosi river was substantially expanded by me but some one has vandalised it and merged it with Koshi River (Nepal article) without any intimation and also added some text on a controversial subject of the present (2008) Kosi floods in India (see the discussion page also). The history sheet does not even recognise the contributions made by me in the past one year. Can you do anything to prevent such gross vanadalsim and rectify it. The Kosi river article belongs to the Indian geography section and to Bihar.
Can you give some information about the film Kapalakundala (1936)?
I have added lots of pictures and a map in the Narmada article.--Nvvchar (talk) 17:15, 30 August 2008 (UTC) Regards
Indian cinema proposal
Praveen, I am not sure how we currently handle creating movie articles. I think it would be cool if we apply About.com's approach of a theatrical release calendar on Misplaced Pages. We can start with the audio release of the movie and get the cast and crew updated. Cricket project does this well. They create place-holder articles for future cricket events, as the events unfold, they get constantly update them. This will create base stub articles for editors to come and expand in the future. We can have tamil and telugu cinema portals that show the current theatrical list and links to archive pages. We will need to find a credible source for this information to constantly flow. I am not sure IMdb is the right fit for this and whether they include information about upcoming releases. This kind of database will be really useful and get many interested in this project. I personally would be end-user of such good information if it is available for tamil movies. Currently I am having to use song websites such Raaga.com and Musicindiaonline.com to keep track of new releases. I would like to know your thoughts on this. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 17:19, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Replies:
- Article assessment: A bot can do the following to speed things up. 1. If another project has already made an assessment, the bot can update the class on the Indian banner. Tinu has a open BRFA for this task. 2. A bot can run through Indian film stubs and it's sub-categories, and auto-assess the articles as stubs. It will mark the class with "stub" and add a parameter, auto=yes. This auto paramter can be later removed by a human assessment.
- Wikimedia India: m:Wikimedia India had some activity some time back. Now it has slowed down. Until someone puts in a lot of work in it, it will just be a proposal. It takes a lot of time and effort to setup something like that. There are legal issues to sort out. I am glad that we are atleast discussing it. There are very few countries like us. Yes, I was at Wikicamp at Chennai a couple of years back and was lucky to have met Jimbo and a few wikipedians.
- Wikimania India: Why not? :) It would be cool if it happened. It will need a large cheerleading team to make it happen. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 03:53, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
:))
Thanks for your kind words buddy!! It feels really good when you work is being appreciated by your peers :)) I don't mind you fixing and making the article better. After all, you are improving the article. As for the images, i think the article can do without these 2 images (Image:Kareena & Shahid in JWM.jpg and Image:Jab We Met DVD Cover.jpg) The other four images are important. Image:Jab We Met Poster.jpg & Image:JWM CD Cover.jpg show the film's poster and CD Cover respectively. I feel that these two images (Image:Shahid in JWM.jpg & Image:Kareena in JWM.jpg are very important as they give the readers a visual presentation of the characters the actors played in the film. BTW, I think the "synopsis" section needs to be copyedited. If you can take a look at it when you have time, I would really appreciate it. Let me know what you think about the images and I'll try getting back to you as soon as I can. I have become really busy these days as University will be starting again for me in 3 more days :(( Regards -- Bollywood Dreamz 22:24, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

I usually update the page, but haven't been on it as much as in prior months. I never really kept up with the DKYs but will add the ones you listed on my talk page. If you get any in the future, feel free to update it yourself or remind me and I'll add them. Good work and happy editing! --Nehrams2020 (talk) 04:21, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
WikiProject Films roll call and coordinator elections
Roll call and Coordinator nominationsIt's that time of year again – we're wiping everyone's name off of the active members list and doing a project roll call. Your username is listed on the WikiProject Films participants list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active on the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:FILM editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. You can also add your name to any of our many task forces!
It's also time to start the WikiProject Films coordinator selection process! We are aiming to elect seven coordinators to serve for the next six months; if you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 (UTC) on September 14!Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 05:01, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Re my block on User:Deepaksubramaniyan
Thanks for your note. Firstly, I welcome second opinions on any of my actions, admin or otherwise, so nothing said by an editor in good standing will cause offence ;) You're right to raise any concerns you have - in fact, anything that prevents that would be very harmful to our encyclopedia.
Secondly, from WP:BLOCK#Duration of blocks, "accounts used primarily for disruption are blocked indefinitely". This is standard practice, although the benchmark for deciding exactly what is a 'disruptive account' can vary between administrators. The editor had 20 edits, which started off reasonably promisingly, but quickly degenerated into unexplained content removal. Appropriate warnings had been left on the user page, but the disruption continued... hence the indef block. I agree that education is better than blocking, but an editor needs to demonstrate a willingness to be educated (ie by stopping problematic editing once they've been notified about it). Since the editor had shown no sign of either heeding the warnings, or attempting to communicate either in edit summaries or on their talk page, I felt I had to issue a preventative block. It's also worth noting that an indef block is just that - it has no set expiry limit. We often think of these as permanent blocks (perhaps because they often are); however, indef blocks can be shorter than 'short' blocks. If on finding they can no longer edit, the editor starts paying attention and indicates they will try to edit within policy, I'll quite happily unblock (and so, I think, would any admin). If you want to leave something on their talk page, feel free - they can still edit that, and if you can get them talking and get their education underway I'd be happy to undo my block. Regards, EyeSerene 09:07, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- You're welcome, and your diligence does you much credit. I see too many editors, especially on vandalism patrol, who think that templated warnings are a suitable way of educating new editors. Unfortunately they can sometimes be counter-productive, and are far less effective than a friendly welcome message. I understand why they get used (and we all use them!), but unfortunately the first time someone takes a personal interest in a new editor, it's often because they've been reported at somewhere like WP:AIV, and it's too late to do anything other than issue a block. If they'd been educated instead, we might have gained an editor instead of losing one. With that in mind, I think you deserve one of these:
