Personal life

He is a four-time Camden-Rockport High School State Champion from Camden, Maine and wrestled at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice.

He was formerly a social worker with adolescents prior to pursuing his MMA career. In 2004 Tim married Jade and in 2007 his son Christian was born.
