Ecoletage's RfA
I removed your refactoring of my comment, and came up with a much simpler implementation. The bolding and insertion of your signature just made the whole thing look choppy and added emphasis I didn't intend. Your formatting was also off as you didn't complete the bracketed wiki-markup and instead inserted an extra set of parenthesis. I understand why you did this, but don't appreciate not having the chance to do so myself. I'm a fairly active user, and if you feel something I've said needs refactoring or clarification, I'd appreciate the courtesy of at least a note on my talk page telling me you've changed my comments. Thanks. AniMate 19:29, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Civic Solidarity victory candle!
That's another reason why we use Google translations to assert the quality of foreign language articles. While babel fish is horrid, I've seen more than a handful of Google machine translations, even from Chinese, that made a lot of sense. Also, there's no corresponding entry on the Korean Wiki. Anyhow, I've put this up at Pages needing translation, let's see what comes out of it. De728631 (talk) 09:14, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Eccentric Flamingoes
Can you tell me why you deleted the entry for my cricket club the Eccentric Flamingoes?
The reason given was Patent Nonsense!
Are you trying to suggest we don't exist?
Here's our homepage on the net http://www.geocities.com/hitoutgetout/
A reference to a match reports from one of our regular opponents http://www.woodcutterscc.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogsection&id=5&Itemid=33
2 mentions on the fixture list of another Edinburgh Club http://www.geocities.com/stucampbell_uk/mortonfxitures2m.htm
Another match report http://infcricket.inf.ed.ac.uk/2006/2006MatchReports.htm
Hope we can clear this up amicably

- No but the article was nonsensical and made no assertion of notability. It will need a total rewrite in any event. Look at WP:MOS, wp:v and WP:N. These will guide you in your editing. I will restore the article, based on Google book hits. Looking at the sources you quote, geocities and blogs don't count as reliable sources. Mentions on your webpage or your opponents do not. Mere existence does not suffice for an encyclopedia article-- subjects must meet notability requirements. The paucity of google news hits argues against notability based on significant coverage by third party sources. Google books hits argue for it. Cheers, and happy editing. My RFA
Thanks for voting on my RFA, although it was unsuccessful, I do appreciate the feedback; my lowered activity since my last RFA was certainly a valid concern. You’re also right in saying that policy has changed; I think I’m up-to-date, so hopefully I can see you around Misplaced Pages and perhaps sway you :D. Thanks again for the vote regardless of what it was, and I truly hope that I’ll see you around.--danielfolsom 03:19, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Question
Hi, just need to know what makes my deleted article "Carpool One" more unsuitable than articles such as eMusic. I'd like to provide information about this free service in Misplaced Pages in the correct format, so it is not treated as spam but rather as a useful information about the service. Super Mario for MegaZeux
Hello there editor. I was wondering how contributors can improve on a page after it has been flagged for deletion. A lot of programmers have been talking about this simple fan-made game, in chats and forums and it received a bit of popularity for a while for its use of ASCII graphics to achieve the look it has. However there is no real place to find complete information about the game. More contributors I'm sure will make their edits but not if it has been deleted.
Thanks a lot and any help you can offer would be fantastic. I'd like to contribute to other articles in the future too. Editing articles is a lot more easier than creating one I've discovered.

I'm kinda new to Misplaced Pages,
but is it not enough that I stay away from the articles and article dicussions until I learn some stuff:
I also have to keep away from user's talk pages,
and/or that you savants are permitted to edit other peoples user talk pages?
As for spam, the sites I cited are MediaWiki types, a few that have interests not too unlike Misplaced Pages's.
So I guess the Sarah Palin Barack Obama John McCain pages will remained locked,
perhaps un-editted until after the election when a few of them won't matter a fraction as much.
Today, I was going to spend a few hours working on a catagory for Misplaced Pages,
but with guys like you around, why bother?
Seems like it's not a lot of things.
Might I add user friendly?
What other ways do you kill people's interest in Misplaced Pages?
Hope the both of you have a far more pleasant day than I'm having.

About my 16th articale
I believe you where asking about this "16. The administration has favored me, much more then the rest of you have. If they wanted to they could have banned you all for life just for messing around with me or they could have banned me long ago. Since administration have shown me good courtesy, then even if you guys still have problems with me, then go to my talk page and tell me all about it."
That part of my comment was directed at the lower ranking editors if you didn't notice. Gnfnrf responded to the entire articale.
I got just one simple question, do you know the user who originally authored The SNES game maker? I think he or she might be able to get me in contact with Mr. Johnson. The guy who is said to be incharge of developing the software. If you don't know who the original author is then can you aquire the information for me because I still need to talk to this person no matter what your desision will be. The rules of wikipedia don't have to read as if they came out of pages of college books, I heard somewhere that a law was being preposed that would require credit card companies to re-write their terms and conditions to where they could be understood on an 8th grade reading level. I didn't have time to read over all the rules, my real problems was trying to format the articals correctly because I'm so use to basic html code. Besides the question that I have for the original author is if I can be given a way to contact Mr. Johnson myself and convince him to provide more information about his software so that software can be posted on wikipedia. If I where to contact him then I could request that he set up a website to give more details about the software and post beta versons of the software.
I would also like to know how the rules here can be written and re-written officially.

- thanks for your note. I'm really frustrated by trying to determine notability with Indian subjects. The further from sleepy li'l ol' Largo a subject is, the harder it is. I once ran into some real trouble when I nominated a Russian pol article for deletion. If sources are in Cyrillic or Hindi, I'm lost. Then you have people contributing who speak a different dialect of English. A lot can get lost. BTW, the blog referenced the character she plays rather than the subject. Cheers, and happy editing. - Even if you are notable per WP:BIO, which I doubt, you should not write about yourself per WP:COI. So Dlohcierekim did just fine. Cheers. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:22, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- As a matter of fact I did. In no way did I see any assertion of the subject meeting WP:BIO. Candidates for state office are not notable inherently. I also went to the subject's campaign page. There I found no indication that of him meet WP:BIO. Then I did a Google News search, in which I found surprisingly little media coverage. The lack of assertion of notability in he article was sufficient to speedily delete under WP:CSD.
- Now we come to the matters of conflict of interest and autobiography. Writing a Misplaced Pages article about oneself creates a clear potential for conflict of interest, especially during the run-up to an election. Autobiography is generally discouraged, though if one can remain a neutral point of view and carefully cite reliable sources from third parties unconnected with the subject with verifiable information, it can work out. One must also remember that Misplaced Pages is not a sopabox or a stump. Certainly, if you review WP:BIO and feel that your subject mets it meet it, and if you can provide reliable, verifiable sources you can recreate the article.
- My advice would be to create a test page at User:Heneghan/test to work on the thing. However, bear in mind that Misplaced Pages is not a webhost, and if it appears you are using Misplaced Pages for promotional purposes, even in your user space, the content will likely be removed. If you wish to appeal the deletion, leave message on my talk page. i will restore the article and send if for discussion at WP:AFD.
- I should have left you a welcome and a deletion notice at the time I deleted your article. Must have been getting sleepy. Please see the links in the welcome above, as they are helpful. Cheers, and happy editing. Dlohcierekim 15:33, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

RfA comments
I hope you didn't misinterpret what I was trying to say before. My point was that it doesn't really matter if one's standard at RFA is for the candidate to have a hundred FAs, unless they 1.)Don't meet that requirement themselves and 2.)have attempted to pursue adminship. That would certainly nullify their oppose. Anyway, cheers dude. Wisdom89 (T / ) 01:23, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
