Welcome!
Welcome to Misplaced Pages, ItsLassieTime! I am Collectonian and have been editing Misplaced Pages for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Misplaced Pages! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:- Introduction
- The five pillars of Misplaced Pages
- How to edit a page
- Help pages
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Misplaced Pages:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!
I just wanted to say that you did some great work in cleaning up the plot section of Lassie (1954 TV series)! It really needed (much as I love the series). I've removed the plot tag for the article. I noticed you are also working on the character list and giving them some much needed descriptions. Thanks again :) Collectonian (talk) 15:46, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Character articles
You might find WP:WAF helpful when dealing with character articles. Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style (anime- and manga-related articles)#Characters is also a good source for getting a general idea of how a character article should be formatted (as the TV project has no such page). You may also want to look at current featured character articles for guidance. Collectonian (talk) 11:20, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
MoS
I've pointed you to this before, I'm sure, but if you are going to continue working on character articles, then PLEASE read the Television Manual of Style, particularly the section on character articles and follow it. I have reformatted the Timmy Martin (television character) article to follow that MoS and I will trust that you will allow those edits to stand as per your earlier notes that you wish to improve the article. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 05:03, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- Why must you argue with everything? This is not your personal playground and you don't get to just ignore the MoS just because you don't particularly like it. Please stop being so contrary and actually follow Misplaced Pages's guidelines for a change. If, as you claim, you actually want to improve the article, it MUST follow the MoS to be considered any kind of quality. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 05:15, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- Please use a civil tone and do not launch personal attacks. The MOS indicates the section headers are not MANDATORY and to use what "works for you". I am using what works for me. ItsLassieTime (talk) 05:20, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- Please stop edit warring, you two. Lassie; if somebody doesn't like one of your edits and reverts it, just seek consensus on the talk page. Don't just blindly revert. Collectonian; next time, don't revert Lassie until you're done discussing this subject. If you two go at it again, you'll both be blocked. Thanks, Master of Puppets Call me MoP! :) 05:27, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
