Egyptian Geological Museum

Thank you for rescuing the Egyptian Geological Museum article. Matthew Glennon —Preceding undated comment was added at 14:50, 3 October 2008 (UTC).

It's amazing what you can find when you do a little research. I'd love to visit the museum and see the collection. Alansohn (talk) 15:25, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
:) Very True, very true.  Done Matthew Glennon

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Misplaced Pages pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 19:09, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Template:Rescue

Yo Crazysance, I'm not sure what you meant here, but articles only need {{rescue}} when they are nominated for deletion. If you just want to draw attention to an article needing serious improvement, you might want to use WP:ICU instead. Regards, the skomorokh 18:59, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. Sorry for the mix up.  Done

Can you please give me some input as to how to add sources to the article. I have just been watching the show and adding info as I go along and that is where I get my information from. Thank You 131.247.244.191 (talk) 16:44, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

While I gave good advice, after further consideration, I nominated this article for AfD. -- Matthew Glennon 19:48, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: Reasons for deletion

Hey, thanks for the complement and I'm glad you liked the page. I don't mind at all if you use it/modify it/plagarize it.... Thingg 00:24, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Dams

Hi. Thanks for the praise. Yes covering rural Japan in such a way is highly attractive I think rather than the usual city basis we seme to have. Fascinating country. If I understood Japanese I would try to expand some of the them. I actually came across them by accident when I was stub sorting Category:Asian dam building and structure stubs and saw the huge content that was missing from Japan with only 12 dams. So I created a stub category for Japanese dams and filled it over 60 and it went from there. I've now worked out neough to add some basic facts from ajapanese wiki which should be of some initial use. Just getting started though see Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Japan/Dam templates. Will get them all up and running in a few weeks I guess. Regards The Bald One 13:18, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Just a heads up. My articles are usually automatically patrolled by JVBot within a minute or two of creating it as I am on the "elite" list of articles creators which don't need the usual patorlling. Leave them a minute or two and there should be marked off by the bot. The Bald One 13:59, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Good to know. Thx. -- Matthew Glennon 14:07, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Small world. I;ve just noticed that you were going to delete the awfully short original Egyptian Geological Museum currently on main page. Sorry that was sub stubbed during one of my BlofeldBot sessions and given my committements hadn't got around to expanding them, only one of two. They should be notable but just need expansion! I was hoping WP:Egypt would take them on board The Bald One 14:00, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes as you can see I'm all over wikipedia trying to improve coverage. If there wasn't so much missing or so many incredibly under developed areas in comparison to other areas, I would concentrate on writing articles to GA standard. However "planting seeds" is a very productive way at developing wikipedia and encouraging other users to help build the articles I create, with quite some success so far. I;ve always thought that "if you build they come" and that goes for attracting google users to wikipedia and joinning in the building. An example of this diversity is anything from Agriculture in Mongolia or Yak racing to articles as diverse as Oruro Symphony Orchestra and Zayouna today!! I'm back on the Jap dams again for the mo, probably will stub some 1965 Italian films or the Chihuahua municipalities later. The Bald One 14:21, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: Speedy Deletion Count

Sorry to say I'm not an admin, nor is there any way I know of to double-check on that, except for putting marked pages on your watchlist and keeping track of whether or not they disappear. Sorry! - Vianello (talk) 23:06, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

  • No, he didn't. Anyone can post the unblock template, but that's just a NOTICE for when somebody has been unblocked, intended to be posted by an unblocking admin. It doesn't mean they actually are. - Vianello (talk) 23:11, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Rm994

In response to my user page, it was vandalized by an IP, I think a sock of Phenomenon8980, regarding an inappropriate email sent to him by a fellow editor regarding a previous conflict. I haven't had any contact with Phenom in a while, mostly because the administrators were handling the conflict. While I appreciated the concern, I reminded the other editor that harrassing emails were inappropriate. Hope that clears it up :) Rm994 (talk) 16:37, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Mathew, Our article has been targeted for deletion, we understand that you cannot have pages out there without foundation.

However WE DO have the expertise and foundation to make a strong and comparative case for this topic. both of us TSquark and I have over 50 years combined experience in the technical analysis of the financial markets.

We currently appear to be locked out or do not understand the process for uploading images- a major part of our case. We have tried countless times to do so, but the upload appears to do nothing and returns no error message.

Our own images and those in which we have permission to republish are not being uploaded.

i.e. (Above). gives you permission to re-publish the charts shown below, subject to the following conditions. If these conditions prove to onerous for your purposes, please contact us to discuss other options. …… cont.

We are not opposed to having this wiki page hidden until it is crafted correctly. But again the learning curve is holding us back from figuring it out.

WE NEED HELP ON THIS. Who do we communicate with in order to have assistance?

We are hoping that you will take several moments to point us in the correct direction. Many of the wiki instruction page suffer from too much detail that is not obvious to the novice wiki page maker..

On the St. Vincent de Paul School page, there is no green neon sign. It's not supposed to be there.

Your NPWatcher application

Dear Crazysane,

Thank you for applying for NPWatcher! You've been approved to use it. Before you run the program, please check the changelog on the application page to see if there is a newer release (or just add the main page (here) to your watchlist). Report any bugs or feature suggestion here. If you need help, feel free to contact me or join NPWatcher.

Hi. Regarding this edit, which edit are you referring to? Is it this one?

If so, it's good of you to be polite and WP:AGF, but on the other hand, if it was a genuine attempt by that editor to be a useful edit, the fact that it has a spelling error in it is probably the least important problem. If this editor wants to be helped, it would be more useful to point out the major problems (and there are several) with the edit; to mention only one minor problem may mislead them into thinking that otherwise, the edit is OK. Also, reminding them to check their "spelling and grammer before updateing a page" is somewhat counterproductive, given that you don't seem to have checked yours.

That all sounds terribly negative. Sorry, that's not my intention. Perhaps I can soften it by saying, good work with spotting the bad edit and and commenting on it so diplomatically. Best wishes, Pdfpdf (talk) 02:40, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
