Phineas Flynn (]) and |
] (]) and ] (]) are two digitally mastered stepbrothers who live with their older sister Hannah Montana (]) and their parents Linda Flynn (]) and Lawrence Fletcher (]) in the town of Disney Channelville. The brothers find themselves dissatisfied just spending their summer vacation outside of school, so they pull off unbelievable and often outlandish stunts (i.e. watching a movie, getting a band back together, racing cars, making a space observatory, constructing a giant Paramount Pictures logo, just to name some), in order to make summer more exciting. Their sister, Hananh Montana, is aware of their unusual activities and tries to play spoil-sport by telling their mom, so that the adventures of Phineas and Doug could be put to an end. Hannah's actions emerge mostly out of jealousy because she would not be able to get away with the same acts. Oddly, the brothers show no fear of being punished and usually take no actions to hide their activities, an exception being the episode "We're Getting The Band Back Together" where they actually have Hannah's help because they are trying to surprise their parents.

Phineas and |
Phineas and Doug's pet, Perry the Platypus (voiced by ]), is actually a secret agent named "Agent P". Normally, Perry's first appearance in a story is after someone (usually Phineas) notices his absence, and asks "Hey, where's Perry?". After the question is asked, the scene usually changes right to Perry entering secret chutes or entrances that bring him to some underground headquarters where he receives instructions, via a monitor, from his boss Major Monogram (]). Major Monogram then assigns Perry some mission that generally involves Dr. Mitchell Douggenshmirtz (]), and his nefarious plans to wreak havoc on the tristate area (though this is not always the case).
A majority of the Perry subplot involves him battling Dr. |
A majority of the Perry subplot involves him battling Dr. Douggenshmirtz in knowingly hackneyed fashion (such as Douggenshmirtz's long monologues about his plans to Perry). Inevitably, these battles are brought very near where Phineas and Doug are doing whatever plan they had for the day, and generally aid in the removal of all evidence related to what they were doing before Hannah Montana can show her mother what Phineas and Doug have been up to.
⚫ | ===Candace Sub-Plot===
This subplot is always in an episode, and it always ends with Perry showing up, and someone (usually Phineas) using the line "Oh, there you are, Perry."
⚫ | Occasionally, there are subplots relating to Hannah Montana during the stories. They generally involve either Candace chatting or hanging out with her friend Stacy (voiced by ]), or attempting to get the attention of her crush, Jeremy (voiced by ]). These subplots commonly weave in with Hannah Montana's many attempts to bust Phineas and Doug but she always fails.

=== Minor Candace Sub-Plot ===
More often, Jeremy makes an apperance in an episode(Often causing Candace to rethink calling mom), or Candace is shown Chatting to her freinds on the Phone(Often while their Parents are away or unable to be Authority Figures).
⚫ | * '''Phineas Flynn''' - Phineas is an intelligent, creative boy inspired to make the summer as great as it can be by coming up with ideas for unusual, exciting, and sometimes impossible activities. He is a very kind and polite child and is never selfish or rude to anyone. He includes every friend of his in the fun. Phineas is also shown to have a wide array of musical abilities and can play many different instruments. His stepbrother Doug Funnie is his best friend and partner in their activities. He loves his sister Hannah Montana, and often tries to please or help her, as in putting her face on Mount Stoinkmore for her birthday, making her treehouse better, or helping her learn how to drive. However, he usually and accidently upsets her with his schemes. He has a normal relationship with his mom and his step-dad. He often wonders about the whereabouts of his pet ] Perry. A current theme is when people ask if he is too young to be working on his current project to which he almost always responds, "Yes, yes I am". In the original pitch for the Paramount Pictures logo episode on the Phineas and Doug: The Fast and the Phineas DVD, it is revealed Phineas is 9 years old. Phineas just wants to have a good summer and he won't put up with being bored all summer.
This Sub-Plot is Often in an Episode
⚫ | * '''Doug Funnie''' - Doug is Phineas's intelligent but ] stepbrother. Doug is a very quiet boy, but he is not exactly shy. He is incredibly brilliant and has a great sense of mechanics & electronics. He almost single-handedly built a Paramount Pictures logo with a rollercoaster in it and a giant track, a real radio-controlled race car, several arenas and stadiums, a space ray (which was supposed to be an ice cream maker but the blueprints got confused with Dr. Douggenshmirtz), a monster truck, and a time machine. He doesn't say much, but is always willing to help Phineas in his incredible plans, no matter what are the circumstances. In the series, Doug almost always speaks at the end of each episode for a few seconds. Whenever the usually reticent Doug Funnie talks, he speaks in a British accent, thus confirming that he and his father are of English origin (this also goes in accordance with the fact that Doug's grandparents, live in London, England, as shown in "A Hard Day's Knight" Doug is talented at changing his voice. When he sings, he usually uses a deep, T-Pain voice instead. He is also seen as having a knack for roller-skating. In the episode "I Scream, You Scream," he is shown to have a crush on Vanessa Douggenshmirtz, The daughter of Dr. Mitchell Douggenshmirtz, then grabs the wrong blueprints. Like Phineas, Doug is also talented and can play a large variety of instruments, including the Jamaican drums. He only has two to three sentences per episode. Nobody knows what happened to Doug's mom or Phineas's dad.
"S'winter" and "Lawn Gnome Beach party of Terror" have Minor Candace Sub-Plots.
⚫ | * '''annah Doug Montana''' - Hannah Montana is a 15-year-old girl. She is always aware of the boys' plans. She is generally a spoil-sport and always attempts to get the boys in trouble with their mom. But when she finally gets her mother's attention to see what they are doing they always look perfectly innocent and normal on account of the unaccounted doings of Perry the Platypus and Dr. Mitchell Douggenshmirtz. Hannah Montana nurtures a permanent crush on Jeremy. She often uses her camera phone and acts much like a teenager when not trying to stop her brothers' antics. In a sense, she is the exact opposite of her brothers, being terribly afraid of heights and easily getting sick or dizzy. She has a "Panic Room" in their garden to hide in when she freaks out on account of her brothers’ tricks. While Hannah Montana is constantly angry at her brothers, there are indications that underneath she loves them. In "Traffic Cam Caper" she saves Phineas at the expense of losing the evidence, and in the episode "Dude, We're Getting the Band Back Together" she gives Phineas a big smile and a hug. In "It's A Mud, Mud, Mud, Mud World" she fails to tell on her brothers, presumably because they were helping her, maybe because her step-father was present. Hannah works for the Har D Har toystore in the Disney Channelville mall. Hannah Montana is good at singing (even when her voice changes due to an allergic reaction to wild parsnips) and can play a number of instruments, all of which begin with the letter "B". Nobody knows what happend to Hannah's and Phineas's dad.
⚫ | == Characters == | ||
⚫ | * '''Perry the Platypus''' – Perry is Phineas's pet platypus, who talks and also lives a parallel life as a secret agent. He has a lair under the Flynn-Funnie's house that can be entered through various passages around the house. His nemesis is the evil scientist Dr. Mitchell Douggenshmirtz, and Perry always accomplishes his missions to stop the doctor's evil designs and plans. A running theme in the show is that his missions end up covering up evidence of Phineas and Doug's activities by accident, therefore the boys’ mom never finds out about their schemes and antics. While Perry says anything throughout the show, he can make a growling and blubbering noise or teeth chattering that he uses at significant times. Perry works for his boss Major Monogram - who appears to be a stern, hard-boiled spy master. Perry is equipped with many hi-tech gadgets and instruments, including whistles that call certain animals, a grappling hook gun, a parachute, several guns, a pocket helicopter, a jet-pack etc. He also can drive a scooter and has his own flying car and jet pack. Perry wears a little brown fedora while he goes on his missions. Perry has his own theme song called "Perry the Platypus" (also performed by Kevin Manthei featuring Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana, Demi Lovato, Adrienne Bailon and the Adrienne Bailon-ettes) which first appeared in the ending of the Phineas and Doug episode "Paramount Pictures Logo". In "Ready for the Cheetah Girls!", the boys stumble on to Perry’s headquarters and his missions by accident, but they do not discover his secret identity. This is evident since after this episode, they never mention again the existence of the secret hideout. Usually, whenever Phineas says, "Hey, where's Perry?", Perry changes from pet into a secret agent and starts his mission. At the end of the mission he returns to his normal identity at which time Phineas says, "Oh, there you are, Perry." The most witty recurring gag of the show is the oft-repeated remark about Phineas saying “He's a platypus, they don't do much”. This remark looks extremely counter-factual and hilarious in view of Perry’s incredible spy adventures involving Dr. Douggenshmirtz. There is also an episode of Phineas and Doug called "Toy to the World" which Phineas and Doug make a toy of perry but it doesn't do anything, referring to the quote "He's a platypus, they don't do much." Also, Perry the Platypus never shows feelings on his face when he isn't on duty.
His stepbrother |
||
⚫ | * '''Dr. Mitchell Douggenshmirtz''' - He is a mad scientist . His ultimate plight leads the viewers to empathize with him. He is the head of his own single-person company, The New Disney Channel Original Movies. His lair appears to be a standard major corporation, and even has its own company's theme song also performed by the Adrienne Bailon Brothers. All his evil but ridiculous plans tend to be thwarted by Perry the Platypus. The Doctor has turned evil because of his unhappy, unprovided and sad childhood in an unknown European town named "Gimmelstump," and also references Brusselstein, perhaps the state he lived in, where his family were poor farmers and he was forced to be a lawn gnome. Douggenshmirtz was born in the month of June, as his birthday occurs in the episode "Raging Bully", and his parents failed to show up for his birth. Coming from this background, presently he attempts to wreak havoc across "the entire tri-state area," but it is unknown how he became a corporate billionaire or why he seeks revenge in the United States, instead of his own country. He is divorced and his ex-wife, Charlene, actually pays him alimony. He has a teenage daughter named Vanessa who is less-than-thrilled with him or his schemes. His eldest brother Roger -- and the favorite of their mother -- is a respected politician in Disney Channelville and holds the mayoral post. He is not really a doctor, as pointed out by his daughter, as his Doctorate Degree has a $15 price tag on it. Douggenshmirtz seems to have an active love life, since in "I, Brobot," he has relationship problems with his "new" girlfriend, and leaves a ton of pathetic messages on her answering machine. In "Get These Nick Toons Outta My Face!," he has a date with a woman he met online, but Perry gets caught in the middle of it and ends up stealing all of the attention away from Douggenshmirtz. In the same episode, he mentions that wasn't his worst date, because there was one who kept stabbing him with a fork sometime ago. He also has the weird habit of adding "-inator" at the end of most of his evil invention's names -- with the exception of "Shrinkspheria" as seen in ''Mom's Birthday''. But the strangest of his habits is the building in of the undo or self-destruct button in most of his inventions, which Perry usually eventually finds and uses to defeat Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Often he practically tells Perry what button to hit, which leads to the possibility that he only wants attention, not so much as something to happen.

||
⚫ | * '''Isabella Garcia-Shapiro''' - Best friend of Phineas and Doug. She's also the leader of the Fireside Girls. She can variate her voice as Doug can, and often assists the boys in their plans, enlisting the whole troop of girls in the process (often to obtain new badges or other credits related to the scouts). She is also a big fan of the boys and their plots, particularly Phineas, whom she has a crush on. She always enters into the scene with Adrienne Bailon's new catchphrase, "What'cha doin'?" and usually offers help from the Fireside Girls. However, it is unclear whether or not Phineas is aware of her crush and may likely be avoiding that. While Hannah Montana makes any possible and ridiculous effort to be the focus of Jeremy's attention, Isabella makes little effort to get Phineas's attention except to help him in the organization of his schemes. In the episode to cure her hiccups, she is very pleased about being able to spend the whole day with Phineas. She sings well, as demonstrated in the episodes "Flop Starz" and "Hannah Montana Previews". She has a pet chihuahua named Pinky (from Walt Disney Pictures' Beverly Hills Chihuahua) who is prone to spaz out and will eat anything but dog food. A curious detail to note, is despite the fact she's the leader of the Scout troop, she rarely wears uniform even when commanding the troop.
⚫ | * '''Perry the Platypus''' – Perry is Phineas's pet |
||
⚫ | * '''Linda Flynn-Fletcher''' - Mother to Phineas and Hannah, stepmother to Doug. She is married to Lawrence Fletcher, but she seems not to use his last name as most other characters called her "Ms. Flynn" except was once called Mrs. Fletcher. Linda is portrayed as a regular American mother, although she plays in a free form jazz band with Isabella and Jeremy's mothers, and was once a one hit wonder pop star under the name 'Lindana' in the 80's. She is generally busy or trying to relax when her daughter tries to get her to see that the boys are up to some crazy plan. Linda seems to think Hannah Montana is crazy and needs professional help. When the boys reveal their schemes and accomplishments she thinks they have an "overactive" yet "adorable" imagination. She can play the keyboard, the triangle, and the guitar. Her favorite band is Love Handel. She has her hair styled by one of the band's former members, Bobby Fabulous. She also seems to hide all traces of the fact that she was Lindana from her kids. Nobody knows what happend to Linda's first husband.
⚫ | * '''Dr. |
||
⚫ | * '''Lawrence Fletcher''' - Lawrence is an archaeologist from the United Kingdom. He keeps his treasured memories in a toolbox. His anniversary with Linda Flynn is June 15th. It is not clear if he is or is not aware of the kids schemes. In at least two different episodes, he agrees to follow Phineas instructions and even forces Candace to cooperate. In the episode "It's a Mud, Mud, Mud, Mud World" he convinces her to participate in a monster truck rally organized by Phineas. He doesn't says a single word about the large battle arena constructed on his own backyard for the rally, and encourages Candace to drive one of the monster trucks, with him as a copilot. In "Dude, We're Getting The Band Back Together!" he thanks Phineas for organizing a massive concert on his house for his wedding anniversary, and in "Mom's Birthday" he participates in a live web broadcast. In other episodes, he seems to be completely ignorant of any unusual behavior. Isabella has only once called him "Mr. Flynn". He is a kind, gentle, accepting parent, if perhaps a bit clueless. Nobody knows what happened to Lawrence's first wife.
⚫ | * '''Isabella Garcia-Shapiro''' - |
||
⚫ | * '''Vanessa Douggenshmirtz''' - Dr. Douggenshmirtz's 16 year old teenage daughter. She is very sarcastic and mild mannered. Her dad and mom are divorced, yet her mother still has a good relationship with him. Vanessa is aware that he is an evil scientist and knows her father's enemy, Perry The Platypus. Her character's relationship to Dr. Doofenshmirtz is like that of Hannah Montana's relationship to Phineas and Doug as they both want to show their mothers what they are up to. A curious detail to note about her, is that Perry and Vanessa seem to be completely invisible to each other, despite the fact that Dr. Douggenshmirtz constantly introduces her as his "evil assistant". For Vanessa's sweet 16 party, Perry outwits Dr. Doofenshmirtz and accidentally improves Vanessa's party, in which Vanessa calls as Perry jets off, "Thank you, Perry the Platypus!" Danny Antonucci as Douggenshmirtz also says "Help me, Perry the Platypus!" when Douggenshmirtz gets stoinked with Adrienne Bailon. Or only one time: "Help me, Perry The Cheetah Girl!". Vanessa does not care for Perry's presence in any way. She doesn't hurt him, but doesn't help him either, even when she has the opportunity she simply turns away instead. In return, most of the time Perry simply ignores her. She appears to be part of a Goth group and is dating a boy named Johnny. and we find that out because her father "saw hearts around his name and he thinks he knows what that means." By coincidence, Hannah often crashes, lands, yells or even travels next to Vanessa, but have only met once. Though she does try to reveal her father, she still loves him deep down.
⚫ | * '''Linda Flynn-Fletcher''' - Mother to Phineas and |
||
⚫ | * '''Jeremy Johnson''' - Jeremy is the love interest of Hannah Montana. Whenever activities are going on in the Fletcher-Funnie house, he goes to visit just to enjoy the activity. In several incredible coincidences, whenever Hannah Montana moves from one location to another, he gets a new job near her, so he can always be around to witness Hannah worry. Jeremy works for Mr. Slushy Dawg. Jeremy has a band, "Jeremy and the Incidentals", as seen in the episode "The Best Lazy Day Ever". In an interview with Mitchel Musso, the artist who does Jeremy's voice in the English version of the show, he revealed that Jeremy returns Candace's feelings for him, but in the series the only hints about it are his constant presence around her and a few minimal details that manifest a personal interest in Candace. He asks her to join him on the ferris wheel in "Bowl-R-Rama Drama", and to sit by him at the circus in "Jerk De Soleil", and also, in one episode, tells Candace that his favorite display at a museum was the one that Hannah had made when she went back in time Jeremy is unware of this which read 'C+J'. He has also asked Hannah to go on walks or to the park unfortunately with his little sister Suzy.
In "Dude, We're Getting The Band Back Together!" he thanks Phineas for organizing a massive concert on his house for his wedding anniversary, and in "Mom's |
||
⚫ | * '''Suzy Johnson''' - Jeremy's little sister. She refers to herself as Jeremy's "favorite girl" and resents his relationship with Hannah Montana. She goes out of her way, as long as Jeremy isn't looking, to make Candace miserable. Apparently while Jeremy is oblivious to this side of his sister's character others, beside Hannah Montana, have seen it, most notably Buford in "One Good Scare Ought to Do It". She hasn't really appeared much though. Deep down Suzy is jealous of Hannah Montana and she doesn't like to share Jeremy with anybody else.
⚫ | * '''Vanessa |
||
⚫ | * '''Major Monogram''' - He is Perry the Platypus's boss, who always gives him missions to stop Dr. Heinz Douggenshmirtz's endless reign of terror upon the Tri-state area. Major Monogram usually appears on a giant screen giving Perry instructions for his next mission. A curious thing to note is that both Monogram and Douggenshmirtz often mentions personal details about each other. The doctor even asks for Monogram's budgets, aides, health and sends him personal letters to inform him about his vacations, so Perry doesn't need to bother at those times. All this suggests they have a close personal relationship yet to be revealed is that or Douggenshmirtz is really dumber than he looks like, since he informs his worst enemy of his personal activities. He plays the guitar, as seen in the episode "Traffic Cam-Caper". In the American version of the show, Major Monogram is voiced by Gabor Csupo who, in addition to voicing him, is one of the show creators and writers.
⚫ | * '''Jeremy Johnson''' - Jeremy is the love interest of |
||
⚫ | * '''Karl the Intern''' - The person who operates the camera for Major Monogram's secret hideout. He is a bit forgetful and sometimes fails to focus the camera, so we can see Monogram is secretly doing something humiliating that he's not supposed to do, after which he immediately says "Karl, cut to close up". In an episode in particular, Karl points the camera to the floor by mistake, revealing Monogram is not wearing pants while giving instructions to Perry. Karl usually is in the back, out of sight, so most of the time you can only hear his voice while discussing or being scolded by Monogram, but from time to time, he makes brief appearances interrupting Monogram's speeches. He occasionally goes undercover, posing as a lady store clerk in the episode "I Scream, You Scream". In "Does This Demi Lovato Make Me Look Fat?", it is suggested that he is near desperate for a girlfriend. In the episode "Unfair Science Fair, the Return" he is seen with Major Monogram in the mall when Douggenshmirtz and Perry were looking for suplays.
⚫ | * '''Suzy Johnson''' - Jeremy's little sister. She refers to herself as Jeremy's "favorite girl" and resents his relationship with |
||
⚫ | * '''Stacy Hirano''' - Hannah's very enthusiastic best friend. She rarely appears in person in the series, since most of the time she's talking by phone, but is usually in Hannah's companion when something very exciting happens. She is one of the few persons who knows the truth about the boys. She witnessed the backyard beach, the Paramount Pictures logo, the runway, the mini golf court and the giant battle-tree-bots, but doesn't seems to be concerned about it. In fact, she usually convinces Hannah to participate and enjoy the moment instead of trying to bust them. She also tells Hannah Montana not to be so uptight about her dealing with her brothers. She figures prominently in "Tree to Get Ready", "Put That Putter Away", and "The Best Lazy Day Ever".
⚫ | * '''Major Monogram''' - He is Perry the Platypus's boss, who always gives him missions to stop Dr. Heinz |
||
⚫ | * '''The Fireside Girls Troop 46231''' - They are the local girl scout group guided by Isabella. They like music and never have been seen without a smile on their faces. They usually count on Phineas and Doug to help get their badges. Very little is known about them though. They are mostly little helpers or supportive characters. In the episode ''"The Fast and the Phineas"'' Isabella thanks one of the girls calling her "Gretchen," but since she's talking with all at once, nobody can tell for sure who's Gretchen. It could be the sandy-haired girl wearing glasses. Besides this, no other personal information is known about the troop.
He occasionally goes undercover, posing as a lady store clerk in the episode "I Scream, You Scream". |
||
⚫ | * '''Buford Van Stomp''' - The neighborhood bully. At first he looks very tough and dangerous, but he is mostly an inoffensive but rude big boy. He likes tough stuff, but is afraid of the most trivial things, as shown in "Raging Bully," in which ice-cream falls on his pants and he screams. Although there's no real violence in the show among the kids, it is frequently mentioned that everybody is afraid of him, but he really does not hurt anyone on-screen. When he challenges Phineas to a physical confrontation, they thumb wrestle instead, and at the end of the "fight" Buford is the one who proposes to Phineas that they be friends. However he got "all up into Ferb's face" when he thought Ferb insulted him, at which Ferb promptly knocked him out with a "Vulcan nerve pinch." He is constantly present as a good guy more than a bully, and for this reason receives frequent invitations from Phineas to join them in the fun. Buford owns a fish named Biff, after his mother. He plays the concertina and trumpet. He is also afraid of Suzy.
⚫ | * '''Stacy Hirano''' - |
||
⚫ | * '''Baljeet Patel''' - He is most likely from India's Punjab region, judging by his name. He is often portrayed as an insecure kid, especially around Buford. For some reason, he usually ends teaming with him, which increases his constant nervous shakes. He's very smart, but most of his personality is eclipsed by the extreme terror he feels when Buford stays around, so we haven't really gotten to know him- it's guessed that possibly like with the rest of the minor characters there will be an episode where we learn a lot more about him- after these the minor characters became more regulars. A recurring theme is his missing underpants. Even though Buford usually bullies him they usually end up working together as in "Greece Lightning" and "The Flying Fishmonger" In the episode "Unfair Science Fair" he made the blueprints for a teleporter to Mars but lacked the skills to build it. Also in the same episode it's revealed that Baljeet want's to have good grades because of his ancestors who exceled in everything.
⚫ | * '''The Fireside Girls Troop 46231''' - They are the local girl scout group guided by Isabella. They like music and never have been seen without a smile on their faces. They usually count on Phineas and |
||
⚫ | * '''Charlene Douggenshmirtz''' - is Douggenshmirtz's ex-wife. She still has a good relationship with him, thinking he is just a bit eccentric. She is in the same cooking class as Linda Flynn. Charlene is friends with Linda, and like her, seems to think that her daughter is crazy and needs professional help.
⚫ | * '''Buford Van |
||
⚫ | * '''Grandma Betty Jo Flynn and Grandpa Clyde Flynn''' - They are the Flynn-Funnie kids' maternal grandparents and they invite them, along with the neighborhood kids, to a lake house every summer. Their names come from the creator "Swampy"'s great Aunt & Uncle. Though they are old, they sometimes like to get the best of the kids and often participate in their capers. Betty Jo has an identical twin sister.
⚫ | * '''Charlene |
||
⚫ | * '''Roger Doofenshmirtz''' - He is Dr. Dougenshmirtz's "Goodie two shoes brother." He is Dr. Mitchell Douggenshmirtz' brother. He is Vanessa Doofenshmirtz's Uncle. He is Charlene Doofenshmirtz's brother-in-law. He first appeared in the episode "tree to get ready" Oddly enough, he dosn't appear in any of Doofenshmirtz's flashbacks and lacks an accent. In "The Monster of Phineas-n-Douggenstein" there was someone very similar to him in Douggenshmirtz story, but he acted like a butler and it wasn't mentioned that he and Douggenshmirtz ancestor were related.

Phineas and Doug! is an Emmy-nominated Disney Channel animated musical television series that targets between 2-10 age group centers on two stepbrothers and their beyond-the-impossible adventures in their backyard during summer vacation. The series premiered worldwide on February 1, 2008. It is the first Disney Channel Original Series (DCOS) to premiere simultaneously worldwide. The show's official U.S. premiere was marketed as Phineas and Doug-uary, due to new episodes being shown every day during the month of February.
Scenario
Each of the Phineas & Ferb episodes consist of three different scenarios. The main scenario focusing on Phineas and Doug, a minor scenario involving Candace and her friends, and lastly one involving Agent P (Perry the Platypus) and Dr. Douggenshmirtz.
Phineas and Ferb Scenario
Phineas Flynn (Vincent Martella) and Doug Funnie (Thomas Sangster) are two digitally mastered stepbrothers who live with their older sister Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus) and their parents Linda Flynn (Caroline Rhea) and Lawrence Fletcher (Richard O'Brien) in the town of Disney Channelville.
This scenario is always in an episode.
Agent P Sub-Plot
Phineas and Doug's pet, Perry the Platypus (voiced by Tim Allen), is actually a secret agent named "Agent P". Normally, Perry's first appearance in a story is after someone (usually Phineas) notices his absence, and asks "Hey, where's Perry?". After the question is asked, the scene usually changes right to Perry entering secret chutes or entrances that bring him to some underground headquarters where he receives instructions, via a monitor, from his boss Major Monogram (Gabor Csupo). Major Monogram then assigns Perry some mission that generally involves Dr. Mitchell Douggenshmirtz (Danny Antonucci), and his nefarious plans to wreak havoc on the tristate area (though this is not always the case).
Candace Sub-Plot
Occasionally, there are subplots relating to Hannah Montana during the stories. They generally involve either Candace chatting or hanging out with her friend Stacy (voiced by Demi Lovato), or attempting to get the attention of her crush, Jeremy (voiced by Mitchel Musso). These subplots commonly weave in with Hannah Montana's many attempts to bust Phineas and Doug but she always fails.
This sub-plot is not often in an episode.
"Comet Kermilian" and "One Good Scare Ought to Do It!" have all three of these plots.
Characters
- Phineas Flynn - Phineas is an intelligent, creative boy inspired to make the summer as great as it can be by coming up with ideas for unusual, exciting, and sometimes impossible activities. He often wonders about the whereabouts of his pet platypus Perry.
- Doug Funnie - Doug is Phineas's intelligent but laconic stepbrother.
- annah Doug Montana - Hannah Montana is a 15-year-old girl.
- Perry the Platypus – Perry is Phineas's pet platypus, who talks and also lives a parallel life as a secret agent.
- Dr. Mitchell Douggenshmirtz - He is a mad scientist . He also has the weird habit of adding "-inator" at the end of most of his evil invention's names -- with the exception of "Shrinkspheria" as seen in Mom's Birthday.
- Isabella Garcia-Shapiro - Best friend of Phineas and Doug.
- Linda Flynn-Fletcher - Mother to Phineas and Hannah, stepmother to Doug.
- Lawrence Fletcher - Lawrence is an archaeologist from the United Kingdom.
- Vanessa Douggenshmirtz - Dr.
- Jeremy Johnson - Jeremy is the love interest of Hannah Montana.
- Suzy Johnson - Jeremy's little sister.
- Major Monogram - He is Perry the Platypus's boss, who always gives him missions to stop Dr.
- Karl the Intern - The person who operates the camera for Major Monogram's secret hideout.
- Stacy Hirano - Hannah's very enthusiastic best friend.
- The Fireside Girls Troop 46231 - They are the local girl scout group guided by Isabella. They like music and never have been seen without a smile on their faces. They usually count on Phineas and Doug to help get their badges. Very little is known about them though. They are mostly little helpers or supportive characters. In the episode "The Fast and the Phineas" Isabella thanks one of the girls calling her "Gretchen," but since she's talking with all at once, nobody can tell for sure who's Gretchen. It could be the sandy-haired girl wearing glasses. Besides this, no other personal information is known about the troop.
- Buford Van Stomp - The neighborhood bully.
- Baljeet Patel - He is most likely from India's Punjab region, judging by his name.
- Charlene Douggenshmirtz - is Douggenshmirtz's ex-wife. She still has a good relationship with him, thinking he is just a bit eccentric. She is in the same cooking class as Linda Flynn. Charlene is friends with Linda, and like her, seems to think that her daughter is crazy and needs professional help.
- Grandma Betty Jo Flynn and Grandpa Clyde Flynn - They are the Flynn-Funnie kids' maternal grandparents and they invite them, along with the neighborhood kids, to a lake house every summer. Their names come from the creator "Swampy"'s great Aunt & Uncle. Though they are old, they sometimes like to get the best of the kids and often participate in their capers. Betty Jo has an identical twin sister.
- Roger Doofenshmirtz - He is Dr.
