From the Editors

We apologize for not sending out our August newsletter, we have tried to cover some events of the month in this issue.

The playoffs have started! The Dodgers and Phillies have won their respective Division Series and will face off in the NL Championship Series. Both series in the American League have yet to be finished. Show your support for your favorite teams by keeping up with their season pages!

Zanzibar Revolution

Hi, many thanks for your continued help with some of my attempts at improving articles (and for the support on the Anglo-Zanzibar War FA!). I am trying to get the above article through WP:GA and it has been mentioned that the description of the events during the revolution is lacking. Non of my reliable sources can expand on what is currently there but there maybe something in the New York Times articles which I have cited. As a non-subscriber to their archive I can only access the first paragraph of each article but User:Editorofthewiki mentioned that you may have a subscription and might be able to help expand the article. If you do I would be very grateful if you could quickly check over the half dozen or so NYT cites in the article for any useful info (and perhaps add it in), if not it's no problem it is not desperately needed. Thanks for any help you can offer - Dumelow (talk) 00:15, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Many thanks for the email. Shame about expansion but all the sources seem hazy on the details anyway. Cheers - Dumelow (talk) 18:16, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Jian Li not Chinese American

Living in a country, even as a permanent resident, does not make you a citizen. Jian Li is a citizen of the People's Republic of China; i.e. he is Chinese. Penser (talk) 22:51, 29 October 2008 (UTC)penser

Swamilive

Thanks for uncovering his sockpuppetry and banning User:Swamilive for abusing multiple accounts. He appears to have a new account: Ivan Softblock Can you look into this account as well? Thanks! Cbaer (talk) 18:11, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

84.16.227.231

Good day, Nishkid64. I just wanted to inform you that the ip is an open proxy, which you can use if you use hide my ip software (proxy software). Thought it might be wise to tell you. Best regards, --Kanonkas :  Talk  18:57, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Seems like Rjd0060 informed you about it, so just ignore me :) --Kanonkas :  Talk  18:59, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Well I checked with your block log and checked 204.15.226.197 (talk · contribs) which is also an open proxy, see above. --Kanonkas :  Talk  19:16, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Maybe I should have just checked all the ip's, but here we've got another one. 75.101.235.101 and 75.101.252.225 looks like possible proxies (or some private VPN) but a reverse ip on both will show you can't use the web sites, nor use the http ports. Hope this was helpful info for you! Best regards, --Kanonkas :  Talk  19:53, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Racial insults

Do we need continued racial remarks like this?? --Kansas Bear (talk) 22:38, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Khalistan

Khalistan

The last entry states that the article is run by Hindu Fascists ?

Just wandered if you agree with that or disagree with that input ?

I can't see the connection myself, but feel free to enlighten us (I didn't want to undo it, as I thought it might upset you?)

Blocked without notice or comment?

Hi Nishkid64,
