Platelets

Thanks for the question. A platelet is a very, very small plate, typically 4-7cm in diameter, with a slight rim called a thrombrim. It was a popular member of household China collections in the period of 1736-1742, when a particular style of dessert-dining was in vogue, called "peu gormand." Peu gormand were typically small desserts, typically a sweet dough that was soaked in rum and doused with syrup. Peu gormand parties were popular all over Europe, but were particularly popular in Strassbourg and neighbouring regions during this time, and, along with copious quantities of red wine, party-goers would consume many as many as 150-400 peu gormand in one sitting. At one time, the peu gormand craze was so prevalent that it was estimated that 1X10 platelets were being produced in Europe in one single day!

Many potters soon began to solely produce only platelets. These potters were called Marrowers, after a fashionable London socialite named Emily Marrow, who, whilst very tipsy at a dinner party, untied her bodice, threw it upon the table, decried her host's platelets as being substandard, and declared that she would only buy her platelets from potters who made nothing else! What wonderful drama!

Marrowers were able to profit greatly, and because so many platelets were required for a single household, it became fashionable to produce themed sets of platelets, in numbers of up to 150! Popular themes were farmyard montages, political caricatures, and - although only available through the table china blackmarket - young lasses in various states of undress.

Of course, such ballooning fads are prone to haemorrhage suddenly and violently, and as tastes in dinner-parties changed, platelets dwindled to a passing memory. These days, a full set of platelets is worth a pretty penny at reputable antique dealers.

Your message on Gogo's talk page

That would be improper use of userspace, and as the page would still put a drain on WP servers, and it wouldn't be contributing constructively to WP, then you would not be able to keep such a page. Please see WP:USER for what you may add.— Dædαlus /_Improve 06:02, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Re your messages: The header that I have in my talk page is at User talk:Gogo Dodo/Header. You would need to make a copy in your userspace like at User talk:De Mattia/Header and then include it into the top of your user talk page. If you look at the code for mine, there is a line at the very top that says {{/Header}}. This transcludes the header into my user talk page.

I don't have any ideas for creating new pages, but there are many requests out there. You can look at Misplaced Pages:Requested articles to see what people have requested. One of the requested pages might interest you and then you can create it. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 17:14, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Re your message: First off, while you work on the user box, I moved it into your user space at User:De Mattia/Pagescreated since it is not working. Please see Misplaced Pages:Userboxes#Creating a new userbox about what you need to do when creating new userboxes.

Going back to your original question, the reason that "6" comes up when you try to use "7" in the userbox is because you hard coded the "6" into the userbox you created by setting the id= parameter to 6. What you really want to do is set id={{{1}}} so that any parameter you pass to the template will substitute into the correct spot. So you would use the userbox like {{User:De Mattia/Pagescreated|7}}. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 01:20, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Re your message: You have already done most of the work that you need to do get the userboxes to work. The only changes you need to make are the one that I listed above. You need to change the following lines:

|id=6
|info=This user has created pages

to:

|id={{{1}}}
|info=This user has created {{{1}}} pages

You can duplicate the first userbox once you get it working properly to make your second userbox.

If you want your new userboxes to look like a userbox that somebody else already created, you can duplicate the code from that original userbox into your new userbox. That's probably the simplest way to create a new userbox. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:31, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Re your message: I'm glad that you figured it out on your own. One thing is that you won't be able to use the image that you would because the image is tagged as a fair use image and can only be used in certain situations. Re your messages: You would use Template:Infobox Stadium as Lapstone Oval is primarily a sporting venue. Template:Infobox Venue is for non-sports venues like theaters.

Re your message: I made some changes to the article to clean it up. I added the stub for it, though you could have added it yourself. I would recommend adding an Infobox and expanding the article further. Right now it is very short. I can not guarantee that the article will not get deleted. That is something that I can not offer. Re your message: I deleted the portions I did because school articles should not contain lists of teachers (see WP:WPSCHOOLS/AG#WNTI). I removed the History section because you copied most of it from the external link that you have at the bottom of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

On an unrelated note, when you reply to me (or anybody or on an article talk page), it is normal practice to keep subsequent comments on the same topic in original section you used instead of making an entirely new section (see Misplaced Pages:Talk page).
