Greetings
Nice to see you again! I didn't recognize you under your current moniker, but I think you've picked a good name. --Orlady (talk) 18:38, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks. :-) Hope your RfA goes well. -Atmoz (talk) 23:41, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
GW thinning
any chance you could prune 'climate models' section of GW? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrewjlockley (talk • contribs)
- I'm working on a different section right now, but I imagine I'll get around to working on the models section sooner or later. Do you have any concerns other than it's too long? -Atmoz (talk) 23:41, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, very much so. It needs to inform the reader that the crrent gen. of models are weak on earth system integration, eg. carbon cycle feedbacks (esp. methane) and ice-dymanics. There's a general consensus from senior IPCC scientists that global climate models currently severely underestimate global warming. Andrewjlockley (talk) 08:38, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
- Can you back up that claim about consensus with any reference? --Kim D. Petersen (talk) 09:31, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
- http://news.stanford.edu/news/2009/february18/aaas-field-global-warming-ipcc-021809.html also, Rahmstorff clearly thinks the sea level rise stuff is drivel as he backed a far higher estimate. Andrewjlockley (talk) 01:25, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- And you believe that that article is evidence/backing for a claim of consensus? Hmmmm. --Kim D. Petersen (talk) 21:51, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
- Well it's 2 leading IPCC scientists. I'm sure there will be more, if I searched. By all means make a bet if you think the IPCC is not going to be suggesting more serious and rapid effects than previously estimated! Andrewjlockley (talk) 08:53, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
- Take it elsewhere please. -Atmoz (talk) 08:57, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Long term effects of global warming
Feel free to slap me with a trout (or a sledgehammer) if i'm going to far. (in fact i'd prefer you did). --Kim D. Petersen (talk) 23:45, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
- No trout needed right now (unless it's to eat). The article has many problems, as does his most recent creation. At this point, it may be best to let AJL write the article he wants and then come back later to clean it up. There being no deadline and all that jazz. But I appreciate that someone else is willing to take the time necessary to verify all of this references. It's time consuming, and lately most of my WP time lately has been in trying to write an article on climate feedbacks. User:Atmoz/Climate change feedbacks (There's no point in actually editing that page. I'm doing the writing offline.) The topic is scattered around multiple WP articles right now, isn't covered in much depth, and the situation isn't very satisfying. Anyhoo, carry on. -Atmoz (talk) 00:04, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Cool article, love to help on that in due course. Thanks to all for such careful attention to my improving work Andrewjlockley (talk) 20:29, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- can you pls have a look at my tag/banner comments which are in caps at User:Andrewjlockley_/Long_term_effects_of_global_warming. I'm not goign to de-banner/tag cos I want a 3O on this, or to have KDP do his own removals. Value your opinion. Andrewjlockley (talk) 01:20, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

- Ick means two wrongs don't make a right. -Atmoz (talk) 20:34, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
- OK, sorry I am not trying to game here, I just think that this text has a use and I think Awickert agrees. Im jsut trying not to be seen as badfaith Andrewjlockley (talk) 20:37, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Another St. Paulite, eh? Awickert (talk) 04:14, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
- You betcha. Although they were still in the Northern League last time I saw a game. I'm a few (thousand) miles away now, so it'll be awhile before the next one. :( -Atmoz (talk) 04:17, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
- Me too. Bummah. No - wait - Boston was last year. Need to figure out what people say in CO. Awickert (talk) 05:23, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
