Indefinite full protection, shortly after the article left temporary full protection, Abd, immediately began reinserting the same sections that he and I edit warred over him previously inserting (the section referencing "Storms" and the section on multi-body fusion). At no point during the protection did Abd bring his proposed changes to the talk page - in fact, the only proposed change made on the talk page is still under discussion. This article should remain fully protected in the most recent stable version until such time as the talk page can come to a full and complete consensus on changes. Question: Who are the IPs? Could they be sanctioned instead? I hesitate to indefinitely semi-protect a user talk page because you never know what IP user will need to leave legitimate comments at some point, albeit months, in the future. If you are improperly flagging edits as vandalism and receiving complaints, you are only making the situation considerably worse by removing the ability of those you flag to point out the flag was unjustified. Furthermore, "I get a lot of stuff and I'm sick of it" has never struck me as a valid reason for protection on Misplaced Pages. That is close to giving yourself special treatment and one of WPs core tenets is that people don't get special treatments and even being an admin is no big deal.

Actually, from looking at PXK's user talk history, he does not get a lot of anything from any IPs and this entire protection is completely ridiculous. I will leave him alone but I would like to strongly request that this is investigated further; there is no evidence of recent harassment besides my incredibly mild comments. 69.105.172.180 (talk) 17:38, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Do not ever respond to trolls, since it just feeds them. If an IP is vandalizing your userspace pages in a harassing manner, someone at WP:AIV should be willing to block them without warning. I often figure it better to not notify the drive-by vandals that they've been reverted prompting them to return (though he should've definitely gotten a warning now but I forgot while going through my watchlist -_-) . Please do warn them, each and every time. As SoWhy (talk · contribs) suggested, this will make most sysops (including myself) more willing to block in the future if they have been adequately warned. Note: Non-static...That is not the editor's only IP, and his other (User:207.134.0.130) is dynamically allotted. Hence merely blocking one IP does not solve the problem. Look at the history and you'll see he jumped right back in with a different IP (going so far as to blank the page). the template:commonwealth military ranks is appropriate for the small percentage of searches and users interested in the commonwealth. the us military ranks are of much greater interest, much greater use (2,843,612 american service men vs. 590,160 in commonwealth). the ratio is even more lopsided when with us troops in combat vs. commonwealth troops in combat. the info box provides better info, in the fromat consistent with military navboxes, particularly the us. diremarc (talk) 23:55, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

This has lead to edit wars and is likely to continue until the programme finishes (late August/early September). The article was protected for a month - this finished a few days ago and ALREADY the problems have re-started.
