(This is the same copy to another ArbCom clerk for Tang Dynasty, Sam Korn) I'm seriously asking you to stop Tenmei continuing disruptive behaviors until the ArbCom case is closed. It is extremely frustrating that ArbCom clerks and Arbitrators just let Tenmei harass me. Tenmei has called me "toxic long-tern edit warrior" more than 10 times during the ArbCom case and attacked me with vicious verbal abuses. I can't imagine this kind of abuses has been condoned for two months, and if Tenmei were in other ArbCom cases like Macedonian or Obama case, he would have been already blocked for such behaviors. Since you're a ArbCom clerk, I'm asking you to warn him or impose an appropriate sanction to him. Thanks.--] 17:06, 2 June 2009 (UTC) |

Happy New Year!
Dear Mailer diablo,
Wishing you a happy new year, and very best wishes for 2009. Whether we were friends or not in the past year, I hope 2009 will be better for us both.

Picture?
Not to question every single picture that makes it into the Gaza conflict article, but I am trying to come up with an explanation as to how a 16-year-old living in Saudi Arabia made his way into Gaza to take that picture. This would have required him using the Rafah crossing in Egypt, which has been effectively closed for many months. -- tariqabjotu 04:04, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Bliss point
Almost two years ago you were the admin who closed the deletion discussion for the bliss point article. I am wondering if you can userfy it to my user space so I can try working on it and see if I can't make it into a notable article. I want to see if there was any usable content, as it would be nice not to have to start from scratch. Rest assured the article will be referenced and well put together if and when it is ready for prime time; if not, at least I tried. Thank you :) -FrankTobia (talk) 00:54, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Vision Forum
Hey, I know it was a long time ago, but I was wondering if you could give me the content of Vision Forum? That is, if there was any good content in it. If so, please paste it here. If not, that is fine, I will write from scratch. Thanks. TheAE talk/sign 06:24, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- No, I'd prefer to have it in my userspace, so I don't have to worry about it being deleted while I work on it. (It may take several days to do so with good content). Is that alright? TheAE talk/sign 19:39, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- Woah, I was a bit careless. There is currently an article on it, Vision Forum Ministries. ;) I missed that. But thank you for the content, I did merge some of it. I may also be using some things from the history to add to the new article. But, I can't do it now, my computer won't let me at the moment. Vision Forum now redirects to Vision Forum Ministries. Thank you. :) TheAE talk/sign 21:39, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Deletion of The_Mafia_Network
Mailer_diablo,
I fully understand why the article on The_Mafia_Network was deleted a few years back, even without seeing it myself. Recently I've been looking for it, as I actually expected an article on it, to find all the reasons behind it.
Although I do understand it, I would like to see an article on this subject on the English wikipedia. I know creating such article myself would result in (probably instant) deletion of it, as it'd be recreation of a deleted article, and I have a Conflict Of Interest. Because of that Conflict Of Interest, I am also aware that I can't ask others to write it. Besides all that, it is very hard to find external references, except for some blog posts I've posted myself since October 2008, some generated stats, or things like that. In the deletion log I noticed someone had been looking through these MMORPG "top 2000" lists, concluding we weren't on it. The person who wrote that was correct, we've only participated in those lists back in 2005 (and I think we made 1st position on one of them too). The 25,000 players number was a genuine one, we're at about 9,000 accounts since October 15th, where about 400-800 are active players online daily.
So, my question: What should I do? Leave it and give up? Write a short article and let others go on with it? Ask players to write it (and encourage them to read the rules)?
TheMafiaNetwork is a game a guy from Canada launched in 2004 (August 3rd if I'm correct). It's been online ever since, and has had many (addicted) players, who formed quite a community. It has a nice history, that (in my opinion) should be written on a wikipedia page for reference and instruction. I'm administrator on the game, and have been since the start.
A few links to verify the age, traffic, daily unique visitors (not sure how that's calculated!): themafianetwork staff blog whois information domain information
Thanks for reading, I look forward to your reply.

List of ship launches in 1946
You deleted this list as a result of an AfD discussion. There are many lists of ship launches which haven't been AfD'd (see Category:Lists of ship launches). A comment was made in the discussion that this matter should be referred to WP:SHIPS. A search of WT:SHIPS Archive 3 (covering the period when AfD was current) fails to show any such referral. Would you be willing to restore the article, as I have another ship to add to the list. I would have no objection to the restored article being relisted at AfD to establish consensus if that is the correct proceedure in these cases. Mjroots (talk) 10:25, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

- Thanks (I'm going to restore shortly), we've got about ten ships to go on the list so I don't think the AFD argument will fly this time. -MBK004 19:44, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Deletion
Hi Diablo, I made a post on your main page regarding the deletion of Scholar360. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to contact you here or on the main page. I'll check both places for a response. This is what I wrote on the main page:
Hello, we tried to post our page here in the past and noticed that you deleted it. I understand your concerns, but would appreciate it if you applied your standards evenly across the board. There are several commercial LMS pages in wikipedia (just see the learning management system page), with very little significance, outside references etc. If you do not delete these pages, then I would like you to allow us to add our page. If you do delete these pages, then I'll feel you are being fair. Please advise. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.241.7.66 (talk) 19:51, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
Also, I'll be happy to add external references and a dialog as to why this product is indeed significant. Briefly, it was the first product to take a relational approach to elearning -- blending social network and LMS technology. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.241.7.66 (talk) 19:54, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
- Reply : If you can rewrite the article substantially addressing the concerns (mainly, the text sounds like an advertisement) and assert its notability with the use of reliable secondary sources, the rewritten article has much more chance of being likely to stay. - Mailer Diablo 01:41, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Don't you hate it when people only come around when they want something?
Hello MD;
I was scrolling around looking for someone whose opinion I respected to review some actions of mine, and saw you name. I opened a thread on ANI asking for this same things, but I'm feeling pretty bruised by the results, which included suggesting that I be blocked for "a day or two."
To my mind, only the most careless of five-second reviews of the interactions took place. But, of course I could be wrong about that which would mean I was wrong about how I edited. I'd let it go, but my current fear is that I'm out of touch with what's considered appropiate behaviour, and that I'll thusly make a really bad call as an admin.
Because, had I been someone else and stumbled into the Tori Amos article I'd have blocked Phil with "three reverts isn't an entitlement, much less twelve." I might have given myself a mild warning about poking a hornet's nest, but I don't think "normal" editors should be penalised when trying to deal (totally within policy) with someone obstreperous. Ahhh, but I'm advocating my own position now, aren't I?
Anyway, if you're too busy (or think it's daft) I'll understand.
As always, respect, brenneman 05:57, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

AfD problems
Hello. I was wondering if you can with a problem that has arisen with some articles I have nominated for deletion. All of the articles relate to the music of ABBA, and one user Axmann8 has posted the following comment on all the AfD pages: Keep, per nominating user paul75's obvious prejudice toward the band ABBA, based on the fact that he nominated 4 ABBA-related articles for deletion consecutively. This, of course is entirely not related to the deletion discuss and in turn could prejudice the outcome of the AfD. While I feel I shouldn't have to justify myself for operating within Misplaced Pages guidelines, I have no prejudice against ABBA at all, I am in fact a huge fan. Misplaced Pages, however is not an ABBA fansite! I don't know if it is possible to remove his remarks for the AfD, but you are able to have a word with him, and any other advice you can give me, would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks! The articles in question are:

Talk:Ayn Rand
Yo, thanks for clerking the Rand case. I'm just wondering if the templates at Talk:Ayn Rand are really necessary – any ban-contravening editing by the named editors will be quickly reverted anyway, and the page suffers from a surfeit of templates already. Perhaps a small notice to the effect of "An Arbitration Committee ruling on this issue was passed in March 2009; the decision may be read here" might be more appropriate? - The JazzFan's one year banning from Misplaced Pages seems to be missing from the Ayn Rand talk page template. Was that intentional? J Readings (talk) 14:57, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry to pile on, but the talkpage template reads "Stevewunder is banned from editing the Ayn Rand article, for a period ending 1 year (inc. talkpage).", but when expanded for User:Stevewunder, reads "Whilst the user is not prohibited from discussing or proposing changes to the article, on this talk page, they may not edit the article itself". This would seem to contradict Misplaced Pages:Requests_for_arbitration/Ayn_Rand#Stevewunder_topic_banned_and_warned; the editor has been posting to the talkpage , and seems to be confused as to whether this is okay. If you could clear things up, it would be appreciated (if you're otherwise engaged, just let me know and I'll ask another clerk, no problem). Regards, Skomorokh 03:06, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

How come you deleted the article about milani? whats wrong with having the article? and why do articles get deleted anyways? is there no space for them, does wikipedia have a set maximum of articles it can hold? I think shes pretty notable, seeing as shes pretty hot and has huge tits. Is there anyway it could be recreated? I think enough people have heard of her. Im sure there are hundreds of people who have pages that are far less important than milani. Just sayin.

RFAR question
Hi Mailer diablo, now that the Aitias RFAR is over, would it be okay for me to delete User:Acalamari/RFC now? Unless I have to keep it, I don't particularly want an "evidence page" against a user hanging around my userspace (that's against policy anyway). Can the evidence be copied to the talk page of Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/Aitias for transparency and then deleted, can I go ahead and just delete it, or is it best for it to remain? I'm asking because it was used on the RFAR as evidence, and quoted by at least two users. Thanks. Acalamari 16:05, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
- I've copied the evidence to the talk page of the ArbCom case and will delete my userspace page as soon as I've posted this. One person did edit the userspace page to certify the RFC, and it was that combined with the fact that the RFC had been linked to and used as evidence on RFAR that I felt it was best to ask someone with experience on ArbCom precedures before taking any action on the page. Thank you for your help. Acalamari 16:53, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Too long for a motion in this venue?
Mailer diablo -- I had questions about a a draft motion which I posted on the Workshop talk page. In the absence of a response, I moved the draft to the Clerk's talk page; and then I saw a note at the top of that page which led me here.
There are two plausible formatting difficulties which may need to be addressed:
- 1. It has more words than the motions I studied in other cases -- perhaps too many words?
- 2. It presents diffs in a format which is unlike other cases -- perhaps configured poorly?
Please assist me in working through these format issues.
If I have posed this query in a fashion that makes it impossible to answer, please help me formulate a question you can answer within the scope of your ArbCom clerk's role.
If this question should have been posted somewhere else, please help me identify the proper venue. --Tenmei (talk) 00:49, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Avoiding unintended consequences
Mailer diablo -- I have adopted a tentative evidence strategy which would seem to be non-standard. It appears to me that the evidence templates presume a punitive outcome which I am unwilling to accept a priori.
Can you help me locate or access archived ArbCom cases in which a party's presentation of evidence abandoned the presumptive punitive objectives which I perceive in these models?
If the way I've posed questions here seems too pointed, then I still need help accessing archives of ArbCom cases beyond the ones listed on the project page. What procedure shall I follow in asking more appropriate questions?
Please assist me in working through these format issues. If I have posed this query in a fashion that makes it impossible to answer, please help me formulate a question you can answer within the scope of your ArbCom clerk's role.

In the context created by the following, I have no objection to deleting the evidence offered by Bueller 007, which -- for whatever reason -- seems to be what he/she wants.
The following shows that Bueller 007 reconsidered what was initially added to the Evidence page, deciding instead to add a comment on the Workshop page. Then, Teeninvestor reverted that change. When Bueller 007 tried to correct what Teeninvestor had done, it seems to have caught the attention of Coldmachine.

- 1. (diff) 01:40, 9 April 2009 Bueller 007 (talk | contribs) (55,415 bytes) (→Evidence presented by {your user name})
- 2. (diff) 01:49, 9 April 2009 Bueller 007 (talk | contribs) (53,605 bytes) (i'm moving this to workshop, because i don't have the time to root up all the links that would make for actual "evidence")
- Workshop page edit history
- 3. (diff) 01:51, 9 April 2009 Bueller 007 (talk | contribs) (41,241 bytes) (→{topic})
- 4. (diff) 12:16, 9 April 2009 Teeninvestor (talk | contribs) (39,452 bytes) (Removed the comments of Bueller007. Workshop page is for discussing & talking proposals)
- Evidence page edit history
- 5. (diff) 12:15, 9 April 2009 Teeninvestor (talk | contribs) (58,507 bytes) (→Evidence presented by {your user name})
- 6. (diff) 12:17, 9 April 2009 Teeninvestor (talk | contribs) (58,508 bytes) (Added this from workshop. Workshop is for discussing proposals, evidence belongs on evidence page.)
- 7. (diff) 06:03, 10 April 2009 Bueller 007 - (39,226 bytes) (yes, but i have presented no 'evidence', and i don't have time to go looking for the links. i've asked to have this removed. please don't add it back again. you do not have permission to do so)
- 8. (diff) 07:07, 10 April 2009 Coldmachine - (41,003 bytes) (Then strike it out - see WP:TALK which states "It is best to avoid changing your own comments. Other users may have already...responded to your statement" (best to preview beforehand))
In addition to the diffs noted above, Bueller 007 amplifies his/her disinterest in participating further in this ArbCom case -- see short discussion threads here and here.
Since I don't know where this should be posted, I'm posting it on the talk page of both clerks and here. --Tenmei (talk) 17:23, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
RfA
Hi there Mailer. :) Today I was browsing my talkpage archives, and found this from seven months ago. Time seems to have gone by quickly by since that RfA, and I suppose I've gained some further experience since then in a couple of areas. There have been several times when I've really wanted those extra couple of tools to fix something or help a process like DYK when no other admin was available. :) I'm in no hurry, and by no means do I want to press forward with another request for adminship right now; but whenever you have time, I'd appreciate a casual editor review or just getting the ball rolling with some thoughts regarding the "when?" question. Best, JamieS93 01:56, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- This should be fine to use → User:JamieS93/1. Thanks! JamieS93 19:56, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi Mailer
I was wondering if you could explain why the recent revision history of WP:RS/N has been pretty much hidden. Link. There are many different posts relating to different threads, and it just seems like an odd thing to do. ∗ \ / (⁂) 04:09, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- An couple of edits met the Oversight criteria and was supposed to be removed. Unfortunately there was a delay in reverting these edits and when everyone else added on to other discussions, their edits inadvertently contained the "tainted" text. The user is now being investigated by the Arbitration Committee. I hope this explains the situation. - Best regards, Mailer Diablo 04:19, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi Mailer, thanks for the reply. I had thought it would've been something similar to that, just you can imagine my surprise when I first looked at the history! :) ∗ \ / (⁂) 04:26, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
RFA thanks
My RFA passed today at 61/5/4. Thanks for participating in my RFA. I appreciate all the comments I received and will endeavor to justify the trust the WP community has placed in me. Have a nice day. :-) AdjustShift (talk) 21:27, 11 April 2009 (UTC) |
AfD nomination of Waseem Kayani
I have nominated Waseem Kayani, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Waseem Kayani. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. MBisanz 01:49, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Please contribute to our National Day project!
Greetings, Mailer diablo! Since your National Slavery is over and you are waiting to enter university, I hope you have lots of free time. How about using some of your time to contribute to our National Day project? If you bring Singapore in Malaysia to GA status, it will appear in On this day on 9 August every year! For an experienced GA writer like you, that should not be too difficult - just get your hands on several good history books. Alternatively, you could write a DYK or two. (Zscout370 and Jacklee are focusing on bringing Flag of Singapore to FA status, while I am writing two GAs and two DYKs for our project.) Kindly tell me your plans by the end of the month, as we will soon need to move from planning to writing. --J.L.W.S. The Special One (talk) 07:02, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Deleted article
Why did you delete the article on the movie "Never Forget?" It was a great movie and had a nice plot. Can you possibly bring this article back to Misplaced Pages? If you don't I will report you to wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.162.234.221 (talk) 12:52, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

As the ArbCom clerk for the Tang Dynasty case
Hello, Mailer, would you please guide or warn Tenmei not to fill the Workshop with too lengthy and unintelligible arguments any more or lead him to reduce his comments? I've never seen editors use "collapsed boxes" in ArbCom cases because of their too lengthy statement. Those are totally difficult to follow what he is saying. --Caspian blue 20:10, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Is the case "Macedonia case? Well, if so, I have no problem following and reading them even though those are quite lengthy and many editors propose and bicker...., but not unreadable. Anyway, thank you for the kind answer. --Caspian blue 20:50, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks, that is indeed a monster ArbCom case.--Caspian blue 20:55, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Could you restore Heartless Bitches International to my userspace?
I am thinking of writing the article about Heartless Bitches International, as I think it is notable and there are enough sources. It was deleted in 2006 per Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Heartless Bitches International. Could you restore the deleted article to my user space? It might be better to rewrite from scratch, but I cannot know without seeing it. --Apoc2400 (talk) 18:43, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Al Farooj Fresh
Hi, I was wondering if you could comment on the Al Farooj Fresh article which got nominated for deletion. AFF enjoys wide popularity in the UAE (and also was the first restaurant that offered shawerma sandwiches and chicken meals) yet this is the second time it has got nominated for deletion. Thanks. --Roaring Siren (talk) 16:11, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
RfA nom
My RfA passed as you may already know - thank you for the nomination, and the support before and throughout the request! :) It really turned out to be pretty good, and not too stressful. I've just made my first admin action, with a tentative finger. ;) Thanks again, JamieS93 19:33, 12 May 2009 (UTC)http://en.wikipedia.org/File:Clear_background2.gif

ThankSpam
Thank you for participating in my "RecFA", which passed with a final tally of 153/39/22. There were issues raised regarding my adminship that I intend to cogitate upon, but I am grateful for the very many supportive comments I received and for the efforts of certain editors (Ceoil, Noroton and Lar especially) in responding to some issues. I wish to note how humbled I was when I read Buster7's support comment, although a fair majority gave me great pleasure. I would also note those whose opposes or neutral were based in process concerns and who otherwise commented kindly in regard to my record. ~~~~~ |

protest of topic ban
Hello. I haven't logged into my Misplaced Pages account in quite a while, so I was not aware that I had been dragged into Misplaced Pages:Requests for arbitration/Scientology until a friend told me today that I'd been topic banned. I wish to protest this ban as unjustified.
A look at my edit history shows that I have not edited any Scientology-related article since 2007. (Been busy doing other things.) I contributed a few typo/grammar fixes in 2008, but none of those articles were about Scientology. It is unreasonable to topic ban me in 2009 when I've never received any kind of reprimand or caution about any edits I've made, and have done nothing wrong, even when I was editing Scientology articles back in 2007.
Second, the ruling criticizes me for editing the article on Applied Scholastics and for including a link to my StudyTech.org web site. The StudyTech.org web site is the primary reference for anyone who wants a critical look at the subject. That is why the current Applied Scholastics article, which I have not touched since 2007, continues to link to StudyTech.org; any article that did not link to this resource would be incomplete. I don't think it's Wikpedia policy that only non-experts can edit an article. And I reject the view that my edits are self-interested. People write about what they know. Being a Scientology critic shouldn't prohibit me from editing Scientology-related articles any more than being a Scientologist would.
Being topic banned is humiliating and, in my case, unjustified. I'd like to request that this ban be rescinded. -- Touretzky (talk) 16:00, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Tenmei
Thanks.--Caspian blue 17:06, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
