Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Grief porn
Hi there, just a note to say that the normal thing to do if you are proposing moving an article to a new title in an AfD is to state "Redirect to Target name.." that makes it clearer what you wish to happen. All the best Tim Vickers (talk) 16:10, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks Tim, I'll remember that. I'm still learning this stuff. Teh Crafty One (talk) 21:31, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

It was my mistake. On TW and HG looked like a lot of text deletion on a susceptible article. It appears to be alright now, of course, although this is a difficult diff. Sorry, nonetheless. Shadowjams (talk) 11:01, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. Check the message above this one. I did exactly the same thing yesterday and had to eat the proverbial shit sandwich myself. :) Crafty (talk) 11:07, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Sorry
Sorry but I did not mean for that section itself to cause grief. I was frustrated with my treatment objectively all across Misplaced Pages regarding various independent IPs I edited from and I gave a somewhat irrational response. I ask you to consider the real point I made in my contribution and not consider me a vandal. 66.183.69.201 (talk) 04:11, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Calling people "assholes" will always cause grief. If you find yourself getting that frustrated you need to take some time to cool down or you may well end up being blocked. Better to walk away instead. :) Crafty (talk) 04:17, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
John Carter's talk
Hi, got a message from you on my talk about editing someone else's talk section. Please look at the edits and my comments and tell me if I did okay. I changed my login ID. Someone is speculating there about my old and new logins. My old login was my last name . Problem is other people also have this last name so I changed the log on. However, certain people (not Carter but on his page) are trying to out my last name, inadvertently I think but still carelessly, by linking my old and new ID. Have a look. If this was a no-no, let me know. 209.162.236.195 (talk) 14:19, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you want here. From what I can see you changed other people's comments on that talkpage which is generally not allowed. If you made edits on that page under another ID, you should let those stand and not go back and refactor your edits to match your new ID. Crafty (talk) 14:25, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not changing any of my past edits at all, and letting those stand. There was an explicit sentence that I changed, which said "I think user OLDID is actually user NEWID". The person who said that has made that association in 5 or 6 difference places, and refers to me as OLDID/NEWID. Since OLDID is my last name, that outs me every time I speak. So now I'm not bothering with log ins at all, and where I found those references changed from OLDID/NEWID to XXXXX/NEWID. And I left a comment explaining what I was doing and why. 209.162.236.195 (talk) 14:43, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Refactoring talkpage comments is naughty. You shouldn't do it. That said, I'm not gonna get into a whole thing with you about this stuff. If you have issues about privacy contact an administrator. Crafty (talk) 14:48, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- No problem, crafty. And it's not THAT big a deal for me. One last question then, should I revert my changes? I don't want to cause further trouble.209.162.236.195 (talk) 15:03, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up...
Thanks for the heads-up.
I don't think our paths have crossed before. As you were leaving me the heads-up I was leaving a note on User talk:Iqinn about the WPANI note he left yesterday, suggesting it could be considered form of forum shopping.
I also said that I thought people normally left a heads-up on the other party's talk page when they raised a concern on WPANI. Did I get that right?
Cheers! Geo Swan (talk) 04:55, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
- Not a problem. A chap has a right to know when he's being hauled before the Bench. And yes, it is customary for the snitcher to inform the snitchee of the snitching. Since this didn't happen in your case, I thought it only decent to let you know. :) Crafty (talk) 06:02, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Have a question...
Hi, Crafty, thank you for the welcome. I'm really new to all this. I have to add "hyperlinks" of course to my article entitled "TigerHeat," but the one thing I need first is this. I know that Misplaced Pages is case sensitive. So I need to be able to have both "TigerHeat" and "Tigerheat" (w/the lowercase "h") to both display the same results for the article when one does a search. I've been searching and have not found how to do that. Any thoughts?
DJRhodes (talk) 23:53, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. You will want to create a redirect. <-- Read that to learn more about how to redirect pages. Also you should take note of the Conflict of Interest issues I mentioned on your talkpage. Happy editing! Crafty (talk) 23:56, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

European Business School Brussels
Dear Craftyminion,
I edited my article (http://en.wikipedia.org/European_Business_School_Brussels) to achieve a "neutral" and brief description of EBSB.
Is it ok for you ?
Best regards, —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ebsb (talk • contribs) 07:15, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- I still feel that given your connexion with the organisation and the nature of the article it should be speedily deleted as blatant advertising. Whether or not it is deleted is not up to me, rather a Misplaced Pages Administrator will review the article and my tagging and make a final decision. I appreciate the efforts you've gone to, but perhaps you might benefit from reading about what Wikiepdia is not. Crafty (talk) 07:21, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
First, thanks for your fast answer. To edit my article, I searched Misplaced Pages and found other articles from Business Schools (e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/European_Business_School_Madrid & http://en.wikipedia.org/European_Business_School_Dublin) which are written in the same way. So, I doesn't really understand why those article are accepted and mine is not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ebsb (talk • contribs) 07:33, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- As I said above, an Administrator will review the article and the tagging and make the final decision. In any event you have a conflict of interest in relation to this article and that in itself is problematic. Crafty (talk) 07:38, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
OK, thank you for your time in reviewing my article. Have a nice day.
Re: perhaps this will work . . .
Thanks. But the point was to link to the talk page for the project, and for that, apparently, the shortcut will not work. --Xover (talk) 13:35, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Removal of PROD from Eldon Hentges
Hello Craftyminion, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to Eldon Hentges has been removed. It was removed by Mjhentges with the following edit summary '(deleted the deletion process)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with Mjhentges before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. Thank you, SDPatrolBot (talk) 22:11, 1 August 2009 (UTC) (Learn how to opt out of these messages)
Re: Deletion
That is of course what I've been doing. But just because I can't find sources doesn't mean they don't exist. Noisalt (talk) 23:34, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed. Perhaps then you might word your rationales more precisely. It's just that to me your noms read a little "This looks sus, let's AfD it and see if it is." Alternatively it might just be me. :) Cheers, Crafty (talk) 23:40, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Current Discussion on Sea Shepherd Conservation Society
Thanks for hitting up my page with your concern. I'd like to see more people involved in this discussion and have solicited as much. Regarding the POV of the article, there has been lengthy discussion on the matter of inclusion of the term Eco-terrorism. We have ample sources from the governments of US, Canada, Japan, Norway St.Lucia? and also Greenpeace that state they believe the SSCS to be terroist. The problem then was how do we go about documenting that here while maintaining an NPOV of our own. The answer was found at WP:Terrorist which spells out perfectly how to handle the situaion. About 3/5ths of the editors then try to go with that policy while 2/5 of the editors don't agree with that policy, atating a belief that Eco-Terrorism is a Pseudoscience or that the SSCS are a person protected under WP:BLP. I encourage you to take a looka t those policies, especially WP:Terrorist and you will see that the POV pushing comes from those who are not wishing to follow the policy outlined there but wish to protect the image of the SSCS. Peace and happy editing. --68.41.80.161 (talk) 03:59, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed. I've considered the points you raise and whilst I'm not wholly convinced, I'll not persist with this. You should be mindful of the provisions WP:3RR. Crafty (talk) 04:07, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

WP:OUTING
Hello, Crafyminion. I have removed a recent comment you made regarding the real-life identity of a Misplaced Pages editor. I understand how you feel, but the situation looks like it will resolve itself through normal procedures, and the inappropriate content will be deleted. Please have a read of WP:OUTING and try to keep it in mind in future. Regards, Skomorokh 14:02, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- And I shall restore it. Crafty (talk) 14:06, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- Crafty, regardless of how right you feel you are, this is unneeded harassment of a good-faith contributor to the project. Please remove your comment immediately. Skomorokh 14:10, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- Absolutely not. Benji is in violation of WP:COI. If he doesn't want his stuff revealed around the interwebs, he shouldn't write articles about himself on Misplaced Pages. Crafty (talk) 14:15, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- Crafty, regardless of how right you feel you are, this is unneeded harassment of a good-faith contributor to the project. Please remove your comment immediately. Skomorokh 14:10, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- Your argument has a strong ring of "women who wear revealing clothing and walk down dark alleys at night should expect to be harassed", as if that is a justification for doing the harassing oneself. That comment of yours is ugly and without benefit to the project, no matter how you want to shift the guilt. Skomorokh 14:22, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- And I respectfully acknowledge your comments. Nevertheless my position is unmoved. Crafty (talk) 14:26, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing.
