If you would like a list of books to read in english-- i assume you cannot read arabic or greek, or even Latin (of course, from your pleadings, you don't comprehend english well either!) -- then let me know, and I will send you a list on this subject,so you can discuss it intelligently, instead of playing (lousy) comic. does the Esq mean attorney? if so, I cannot wait for Dr, Blair, also an attorney, to read your rather moronic postings. She says attorneys are trainable if you catch them before they suffer too much temporal fugue from court. So perhaps you are trainable. Try to at least learn a little about the subject before attacking those who have been studying it longer than you have been alive. ] If you would like a list of books to read in english-- i assume you cannot read arabic or greek, or even Latin (of course, from your pleadings, you don't comprehend english well either!) -- then let me know, and I will send you a list on this subject,so you can discuss it intelligently, instead of playing (lousy) comic. does the Esq mean attorney? if so, I cannot wait for Dr, Blair, also an attorney, to read your rather odd postings. OOPS, Make that '''j1994r89@hotmail.com'''. I prefer personal disagreements to be off this site. This should be reserved for putting together the best encyclopedia we can, for those who can benefit from it. Obviously, that has not been your interest. Your interest, in th past, when you cannot argue facts with those who have forgotten more than you ever knew, is to mock them, which I suppose is all one can do absent knowledge. The great attorney Clarance Darrow once said, "if you have the law, cite it. If you have the facts, recite them. If you have neither, shout, pound the rostrum, and call names." You are pounding the rostrum, shouting, and calling names. But your apology is accepted, and the first step to self enlightenment is the recognition one has faults. I intend to keep this within the wikipedia context on a wikipedia site, and since you recognize your failings, will gladly work with you: First, present me with FACTS that are incorrect in that article -- and cite sources. Don't speak about minority views. I read the history written during the time in question in Arabic in the extensive record kept by the Caliphate. Cite facts! If you can SHOW ONE FACT which is unfairly or incorrectly presented, I will gladly correct it at once. If instead, you cannot cite facts, but merely object to the writing due to your political correctness ideals, put it up for review. I have 2 degrees in history, have done extensive research on the area, lived in the area, speak and write arabic, and believe the facts back the article. You claimed the history of the era hinged on the exhaustion of the expansion efforts of the Caliphate, and yet have obviously not read a single book on the era, subject, or indivdiduals involved. Let us rectify that! I tried to explain to you that your theory was simply wrong historically, which I will gladly refer you to varioius references so proving. First, you need to read the seven original volumes of "The Dcline and Fall of the Roman Empire, especially book six, "Mohammad and the Araabs." If you cannot find an original copy, let me know, I have friends in book stores who will send you one. Then you need to read "The history of Byzantium" by Norwich -- that has a one volume summnation to start with, but you should soon advance, to the full 3 volumes. Another vital book I think you are capable of reading, once you have read the foregoing, is "Barbarians, Marauders, and Infidels" by Antonio Santosuosso, Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Ontario, and considered an expert historian in the era in dispute in this article. It was published in 2004, and has quite an interesting modern expert's opinion on Charles Martel, Tours, and the subsequent campaigns against Rahman's successor in 736-737, in that he makes a compelling case that these defeats of invading Muslim Armies, were at least as important as Tours in their defense of western Christianity, and the preservation of those Christian monestaries and centers of learning which led ultimately led Europe out of the dark ages. Don't worry, now that you have recognized that insults and mockery don't contribute a thign to knowledge, and have humbly apologized, Dr. Blair and I will work with you to try to help you learn the basics of the historical period in question. JOHN MCGLOTHLIN, ]

Dr. Blair, Doug has recognized that calling me an ass was wrong, and has humbly apologized, so we should work with him, which I have attempted to do, to give him a basic knowledge of the period in question. Any help from you is ALWAYS appreciated, you are far brighter than I am,dedicated to try to make this a valuable site for students, and others dedicatd to learning. JOHN ]
