Notability of B'avarija
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on B'avarija, by another Misplaced Pages user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because B'avarija seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting B'avarija, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 00:00, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
The Beatles
Did you even look at what you were editing? Immediately adjacent to where you inserted your edit, there is a clearly written internal comment: "Do not add (deceased) next to certain names, as per Template:Infobox musical artist." Please try to follow Misplaced Pages's editing guidelines, especially when they are immediately in front of you while editing. Ward3001 (talk) 03:00, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:00-Puolet sun auringosta - Front.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:00-Puolet sun auringosta - Front.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 03:31, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to PopMaster, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Misplaced Pages articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Misplaced Pages:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add your reference to the article. Thank you. Mayalld (talk) 20:06, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Popmaster
The contributions that you made had three issues;
- They were unsourced. Yes, they have the advantage that they are not copyright, but the have the disadvantage that nobody else can go to a source to confirm that the information is correct. Misplaced Pages policy requires that facts can be verified from reliable sources, and forbids original research. I'm sorry, but policy simply doesn't allow you to add facts based only on your memory without citing sources.
- Whilst I don't doubt the truth of the facts that you quote, it is questionable as to whether what happened on a week by week basis is actually sufficiently notable for inclusion, and whether it gives undue weight to what happened last week. It would have sufficed to say that whilst the contest runs as normal with guest presenters, this wasn't always the case when the celebrity version ran.
- The additional facts were added as stark disconnected sentences, rather than being worked into the prose of the article. When adding to an article it is important to ensure that the additions seamlessly work in with the article prose.
Mayalld (talk) 20:38, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- original research doesn't mean that you actively went out and researched something. It simply means putting yourself up as the source, and it isn't allowed.
- If we look at the info that you wanted to add;
- Aled Jones ran ordinary Popmaster last week - not necessary. The article already tells the reader that standins sometimes run the quiz in the section above, and adding a fact about the ordinary version to the section on the celebrity version doesn't make sense.
- Standins didn't run the celebrity version. Fine, cite http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0082l1h to prove it.
- First contestants, and Jeremy vine hosting. Again, find a cite to show that it is true.
- The whole idea of CPM - this is just your opinion, unless you have an official BBC source that says this, and can't go in.

AfD nomination of Ba-Ba-Bankrobbery
I have nominated Ba-Ba-Bankrobbery, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Ba-Ba-Bankrobbery. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. ukexpat (talk) 14:16, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message on my talk page. I am afraid that I will not reconsider the Afd nomination. One of the pillars of WP is notability of the subject matter. Articles about non-notable subjects do not belong in an encyclopedia and should be deleted. If you want to argue your case, please do so at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Ba-Ba-Bankrobbery. Finally please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by adding 4 tildes (~) at the end. Thanks. – ukexpat (talk) 14:31, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Krynology and Souvenir (Sestre album) and Samo Ljubezen:Sestre Single
Hi.
- Do you think it might be a good idea to merge the information in Krynology into Global Kryner instead of it's own article, as per Notability (music) -> Albums? Krynology doesn't seem all that notable on it's own.
- Same for Souvenir (Sestre album). If it's the only album to date by Sestre it might be better in the Sestre article.
- Someone has suggested merging Samo Ljubezen:Sestre Single with the article already created for it at Samo_Ljubezen. If you have any thoughts on it you could contribute them on the Talk:Samo_Ljubezen:Sestre_Single page. Ha! (talk)

Problems with upload of Image:Tose.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Tose.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We requires this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Misplaced Pages, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

- Sorry I had to remove that image again. It had no satisfactory copyright declaration on the Macedonian wiki either (in fact, it's listed for deletion even there), so we can't use it, I'm afraid. On the whole, the Macedonian wikipedia is a very unreliable source of images, they have an awful lot of dodgy uploads and false tagging there and hardly any cleanup. Three revert warning
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Limerick (poetry). Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. --McGeddon (talk) 09:01, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
Copyright problem: Rhian Pugh
Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Rhian Pugh, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.british-gym.com/biopugh.htm, and - even though you have rearranged the order of the paragraphs - it is still a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Rhian Pugh and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Misplaced Pages:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Rhian Pugh with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Rhian Pugh.
It is also important that the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and that it follows Misplaced Pages article layout. For more information on Misplaced Pages's policies, see Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at Talk:Rhian Pugh/Temp. Leave a note at Talk:Rhian Pugh saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Misplaced Pages. Happy editing! McGeddon (talk) 09:12, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

Follow template format rules please
Do not add deceased (or any other text) beside band member names in musician infoboxes. Read the template rules for formatting. Band member fields are "name only, no other text." If you see any musician infoboxes with anything other than names in the member fields feel free to correct them. Years, instruments played or life status indicators are never to be placed in those fields. Libs (talk) 22:27, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter what information it adds. It is against the formatting rules of the template. The article body is for fine details. The box formatting is done by consensus. If you put your proposal to the template discussion page and get a consensus to change the rules then that is fine. But for now ignoring the rules isn't an option. Libs (talk) 22:55, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of One-hit wonders of Alternative Guises in the UK
I have nominated One-hit wonders of Alternative Guises in the UK, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/One-hit wonders of Alternative Guises in the UK. Please indent your comments properly in discussions
Your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/One-hit wonders of Alternative Guises in the UK were not indented which made reading the flow of argument difficult. By placing one more colon in front of your response than is in front of the comment you are responding to, you indent it slightly and make reading the flow simpler. Thanks, --Rogerb67 (talk) 12:33, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
AfD nomination
I saw what you did regarding my second entry to this nomination where I had agreed with the previous comment and then you stuck in your comment in between to make it look like I was agreeing with you. Please do not attempt to corrupt what I was saying. I have relocated my post now. After much debate with you on this - I am done with trying to reason with you on this blessed article and so have voted in favour of delete. It seems you will not listen to reason or any other argument - and looking at your talk page it seems that this has been the case in the past as well.--Tuzapicabit (talk) 22:13, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
- OK, I accept that it was a genuine error, so I apologise for that, it just was an unfortunate co-incidence. However, I am not saying delete to get back at you, as you know my feelings on these inclusions only too well and I never thought they had a place really, but was willing to compromise. I left you to the article you created and did not contribute to it once - truth is, I have to agree with the nomination, it's not a noteworthy article in my view. Sorry if this is upsetting after you created it, but I didn't dispute it with you at the time simply because we were never going to agree, so it was pointless to carry on discussing. However, I would be happy to come to a consensus as the main article with other editors, it's no use just having two people arguing each other's side - it needs to have other people's views. I have no problem agreeing to any suggestions, unless I genuinely think something is wrong. --Tuzapicabit (talk) 23:31, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
Revision
OK, I will go through this one more time. Why have you changed it around again? I will go through my misgivings one more time. Since you last worked on the article, I have given citations and references to every entry - I see that yours have none, so unless you provide them your entries will be under scrutiny and as per the rules of Misplaced Pages may be removed.
- Clint Eastwood reached a peak of #18 with the double-A side (as stated on the official charts), so clearly it doesn't belong. Show me the proof that Clint Eastwood reached No.1.
- Tubeway Army was a band (as stated by Misplaced Pages - unless you're going to argue with every editor in that article) - Tubeway Army had one hit - a No.1, they are a genuine one hit wonder. Do not give the argument that the band just happened to contain Gary Numan - this makes no difference - he is not the whole band. And unless you are aware of every member of every group listed (going back to the 1950s) you can't just pick out individual members (and even then it would make no difference) Gary Numan and Tubeway Army are two different charting acts
- The Young Ones are a one hit wonder - they never had another hit
- As per the nomination process - the titling of your section is wrong - "alternate guises" is not accurate
- Your section is still missing many many examples - the argument for 'and' or 'featuring' is invalid unless you check (and give references) as to how these artists pairings were actually credited
- The list should be a list - as it's of lesser importance to the genuinely authentic one hit wonders.
One final point - were you aware that the Guinness Book of doesn't actually list these acts as one hit wonders anymore? They used to have "David Bowie and Mick Jagger" in a separate entry - they don't anymore, so even they have come to realise that there is little validation in calling them one hit wonders. Each of these collaborations are merged into each artists' discography. Although with this in mind, the Guinness Book of is not the ONLY source to be used. It is the basis for the criteria only - it does not cover the entries themselves.
Please also remember that it was me that set these boundaries in the first place, before I came to the article 8 months ago, there was no criteria at all and the article was very different. What you have done is copied my style in your entries, and while the article is open to everybody and is not 'owned' by me, I am in full understanding of what I set out to do and why it was unfeasible to include all entries. You need to take a step back and take your head out of this one book and consider how this article looks to people who come along to read it - it is starting to look very confused and up its own arse on technicalities. I don't mind the collaborations staying in, but they need to be in a list only format and need to be complete.
On a final point - I'm not trying to run roughshod over your work, but it's very frustrating. I do actually understand what you're saying - "David Bowie and Mick Jagger" are indeed a one hit wonder technically - they are two artsts coming together to make a third, so yes, they are perhaps worthy of inclusion - so you've worn me down there, but I would still say this is not the case with Tubeway Army, in the same way that David Bowie formed his own group in the 90s - "Tin Machine" - they are a group in their own right and if they had one hit at No.1, they would be a genuine one hit wonder also. I think it's all in the name really - the fact that "David Bowie and Mick Jagger" are called that is what makes it confusing for people - if they had called themselves something else then it would be a different situation. Actually, they'd be a footnote entry like "Chef" I suppose - probably beacuse people wouldn't be familar with the name, wheras they are with David Bowie's and Mick Jagger's.
Phew! Anyway I'm done, but I will do some work on it tomorrow and see what you think. I will also work on the missing entries.--Tuzapicabit (talk) 02:10, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Cerejota (talk) 04:53, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Hello, I looked on your own page and it looks like you're from Porto Rico, is that right? If so could it be that Memory Banks was not that popular over there? The reason I ask is because the comic and character were quite popular in the UK so you can not really say it's not notable. --Cexycy (talk) 19:13, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
1) Puerto Rico, not Porto Rico.
2) Yes that is correct. In which case, the onus is on editors to provide sources and text that descirbes this. This is a worldwide encyclopedia, not an Anglo-American one.--Cerejota (talk) 19:58, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
I apologise for misspelling your country's name. It is not one I often need to spell.
Thank you for agreeing to withdraw your nomination. I do try my best when creating articles to give as much information as I can. However in the case of Memory Banks, this is very hard as only people in Britian would really stand a chance of remembering it. I created the article for everyone to see, as long as they were interested.
I agree that Misplaced Pages is a worldwide encyclopedia, however it just happens that this article is one only of any use to British people, although people from anywhere in the world are welcome to read it.
If you can do an article for any Puerto Rican comics or comic characters and their strips, please do so. Please create them in Spanish for the main Puerto Rican readers and also in English so people like me can read them too :) --Cexycy (talk) 22:16, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Anne Gadegaard
A tag has been placed on Anne Gadegaard requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Anne Gaddegaard
There seems to be much more in the Spanish Misplaced Pages version at es:Anne Gaddegaard - are you able to translate some of that, it may be more discography. Also the refs I added have more too. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:00, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
Robert McBain
Hello. I noticed that some of Robert McBain is cut and pasted from his site. I suggest that you reword those parts because that is a copyright violation and somebody will zap the article. If you have any questions, please reply here as I am watching your talk page. Thanks. --Anna Frodesiak (talk) 22:14, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks. I believe the site is just a memorial type thing made by friends and family swho wish to keep his memory alive, which was an added bonus for creating the artice. The only problem is, I could not find a great deal of information elsewhere so it pretty much had to come from his site. I did change a few words, but that was about as good as I could do. If you wish to edit it further, please do. I only created it for the same reason as I have created other articles, so people can benefit. It doesn't ALL have to be my work, I just want to make Misplaced Pages a more useful site. --Cexycy (talk) 23:36, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Splendid. Thank you. Keep up the good work. --Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:28, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Categories: Romp.com games
A tag has been placed on Categories: Romp.com games, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

- I have deleted this as a test page. I understand that you intended to create a category, but what you did was to create an article with the word "categories" at the start. Please refer to WP:Category on the requirements for creating categories and going about it. cheers. -SpacemanSpiff 02:51, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

I have tagged File:Gompie_album.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Misplaced Pages, it must be included in at least one article. Otherwise, it will be deleted in seven days. Melesse (talk) 05:19, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to Misplaced Pages. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add content (particularly if you change facts and figures), as you have to the article Living Next Door to Alice, please cite a reliable source for the content you're adding or changing. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Misplaced Pages:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Rapido (talk) 09:39, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
- The note about the source left on Rapido's talk page (the source was the liner notes) is well taken. Still, Cexycy, I'd suggest you'd make this clear in the article; there actually is a template: Template:Cite album-notes. Drmies (talk) 05:06, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

SIT Tones
Hi Cexycy. Your adds to SIT tone are very interesting, but there are a couple of issues I see which I hope you address. I'm really not trying to make this hard, it's just that you're unintentionally breaking some rules. Check it out:
First, it looks like your additions are personal observations as you have no reference other than (I assume) hearing these recordings. Unfortunately, this is considered original research and will eventually be deleted by someone for the same reason I did. What you can do (and I hope you do) is find the BT specification manual which outlines what these recordings say, then you can cite it and you're good. (See the cite at the bottom of the SIT page for example). You might be able to find the manual number through someone at https://www.ckts.info/.
Second, recorded messages really have nothing to do with SIT tones and really deserve their own separate page. I have been considering doing such a thing and have actually found the manuals from AT&T which specify what should be said in the US recordings. It would be great if you could find the BT ones and we could put it up together.
Let me know if you're interested and I will create a "recorded announcements" page and integrate it with the rest of the telecom stuff in the next day or so.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Rapido (talk) 22:41, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
