"Results 1 - 10 of about 11,800 for "Cheetah Woods". (0.29 seconds"
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=%22Cheetah+Woods%22&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
- That number drops to 9 when searching Google News, a better filter of reliable sources. --NeilN 23:27, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Then your point would be Google News also confirms "Cheetah" is Woods' new nickname? Thanks. BTW - it's 10 now, and here's the new Google count: "Results 1 - 10 of about 12,700 for "Cheetah Woods". (0.30 seconds). 12,700 and going up like a rocket - 10% increase in less than a day! Wow! Ane here is Bing.com's count: "ALL RESULTS1-10 of 6,810,000 results." Double Wow! Could 6,810,000 hits be wrong? --DaleEastman (talk) 15:35, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- No, 10 sources (many of them blogs/gossip sites) out of the many thousands of newspapers Google indexes does not make it a common nickname. What's your agenda here? Have you read WP:BLP? "Biographies of living persons must be written conservatively, with regard for the subject's privacy. Misplaced Pages is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid paper; it is not our job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people's lives." --NeilN 16:39, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Are you going to reinsert this when the block on your account expires?--Chaser (talk) 16:51, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Highly suggest a review of WP:BLP, WP:GHITS and WP:CRYSTAL as a start as to why the unblock request was denied and for why there's continued concern shown here. Search hit results are an almost meaningless statistic, especially for anything pop-culture related. Misplaced Pages doesn't predict the future, and nicknames are personal monikers that form and become "the norm" over time. We have no idea if it'll actually stick. Since the article, for unknown reasons, somehow allowed the National Enquirer to be a source when it entirely contradicted the AP and Reuters a few days ago? I'll never know, and that's all the more reason to be VERY careful about every last word of information here and why the article has been of focus on the. The traffic count is extremely high and has even topped the 1-day peak of Fort Hood shootings last month. Don't be terribly surprised if your actions are followed very closely after your block expires, though I'd suggest you think more about why it was that you were blocked before it ends. Hint: it wasn't because 1 source was suspicious or because of a search result hit number. ♪ daTheisen(talk) 00:48, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
Here we are 2 months later and and a search for "Cheetah Woods" still gets 6,790,000 results on Bing.com. Looks like the new nickname has clearly "stuck." How embarrassing for you that you were so wrong for so long. --DaleEastman (talk) 02:40, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
