::Kittens! Yes, I'm a cat person. Don't have any now unfortunately, but had a bunch when I lived in Göteborg. Four. Then the 2 females got kittens, and suddenly we had twelve cats... then they all got cat fleas. Owww... it took forever! Bathing them one by one every third day for 6 weeks - there's nothing that can look as miserable as a wet cat... imagine 12 of them.. Thanks for your comment on my talk page. It was greatly appreciated. You know that if you walk away from this whole thing right now, you "win," right? (I remember giving this exact advice to DreamGuy about 4 days ago.) ] - ] 20:11, 1 February 2006 (UTC) |

Current status
For anyone reading this page who is curious about the situation:
- On Sunday, I was blocked by Admin David Gerard for "not being here to create an encyclopedia", despite the fact that I had created dozens of articles and been a civil and constructive Wikipedian with over a thousand edits. The block was removed less than 24 hours later, though with the ominous comment "for now".
- The core issue was another user who was issuing personal attacks, accusing me of perpetrating a scam, accusing me of lying, and accusing me of not being who I say I am. I therefore created a webpage to clarify things, which can be seen here: http://www.elonka.com/wikipedia
- I have been making good faith efforts to work through the Misplaced Pages dispute resolution process to get the series of personal attacks against me to be removed. At the moment it looks like I have permission to Refactor the related pages, which I will be doing in a few hours, with an admin's assistance. If I am allowed to remove the attacks, and they stay removed, then this will be over. My messages here will be going away, the webpage will be going away, and the information at User:Elonka/DreamGuy dispute will go away. It'll be "move along, nothing to see here" time. ;)
- There is a discussion about the matter going on at the Administrators' noticeboard (Older messages are at AN/I Archive70). Interested parties are welcome to comment. Elonka 04:05, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Locations
Would it be possible for you to list here the locations of the personnal attacks that you would like removed? Tom Harrison 15:31, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
- Sure, it's at User:Elonka/DreamGuy dispute, but here's a quickref: Pages in process of being refactored - this list is going to be shrinking:
- There are plenty more personal attacks in history and via edit summaries (another violation of Misplaced Pages policy), but I don't care as much about those. I do want the public ones removed though. Thanks, Elonka 15:58, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
- While I do think it's weird you got blocked and yet not DreamGuy (I have been following this somewhat just not getting involved because of the constant "puppetery" accussions being leveled against me and Englishrose) he has posted an apology ironically right after you were blocked (niche!). Still, now the apology is given and once the public stuff has been cleared as per Hipocrite, maybe it's best to try and forget about the whole snafu and just get back to contributing to Misplaced Pages? I know my opinion probably counts for jack all here but I get the feeling that no offence intended but a full blown attempt on the block being inappropiete along with more compiling of evidence against DreamGuy would probably annoy the admins into reverting back to a full block. Like I said though, it's up to you I'm just putting out a thought you might want to take up later. --RBlowes 17:52, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
- I've now changed the archive format on my page listed above. Petros471 09:35, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks Petros, looks good! Thanks also for linking Misplaced Pages:How to archive talk pages, I hadn't read that one recently, and it was a good refresher course. Elonka 16:04, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Articles I have created
For anyone interested in reviewing whether or not I am "here to make an encyclopedia", these are articles I am particularly proud of:
And though I didn't create it, I've been substantially expanding the article on bestselling author Dan Brown.
- scratches head* Very odd situation indeed. I quickly went over your last 500 edits or so, and it looks ok from here. You did collide with dreamguy, but that's about it. I suppose bishonen is looking into the latter part. Terribly inconvenient this. Kim Bruning 09:43, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. :) Elonka 14:10, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

People are watching. You have thoroughly documented a clear-cut case of a long history of harassment and abuse. Since you have chosen to use your real name, and since you live in the United States, I recommend you secure a good attorney in your area. Have him send an amicable letter to James Wales. If you do not get immediate results to include permanent removal of the offending party(ies) from this site/message board, I strongly recommend that you have your attorney file a writ of mandamus. Misplaced Pages has a long history of abuse. You are not alone. Do take this seriously. Do not let it grow bigger. You have monetary damages. -Anonymous *Note: This comment was signed by: 172.128.212.148. A similar IP address (172.148.115.108) has also made similar edits towards Elonka related issues. - Thank you for the support, but I am not a litigious person. In my opinion (and keep in mind that I used to be a legal secretary), when the situation gets so bad that the lawyers get involved, that's when everybody loses. Elonka 14:10, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- Please look at those contributions. The second IP had also tried to delete the aladin article. Englishrose 19:22, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
D.G. is on you case too?
Elonka: When I was using my "Fplay" account, I AfD'ed your article, just to put it through its paces since it was on "Misplaced Pages:Wikipedians_with_articles". I see that Mr. Gerard also gave you a hard time. Now I feel bad. Sorry! -- Pinktulip 15:28, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks Fplay, I appreciate your apology, and I did notice that you voluntarily retracted the AfD. No hard feelings! :) Elonka 17:05, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- Interesting. Telsa Gwynn managed to get her article deleted, while poor Angela Beesley failed. Sorry to see the AFD failed! (For context: Telsa was asking me if she should offer to help AFD your article the other day :-) ) Kim Bruning 18:27, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- Heh. No, I don't mind having an article here. I actually (call me crazy) trust the Misplaced Pages community to do a fair job on it. I like the consensus process. The group mind may not make good decisions in the short-term sometimes, but in the longterm, things seem to work out pretty well. Course corrections are of course needed every so often, and those are a painful process (see Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Misplaced Pages), but I still have faith in the overall effort. ;) One thing I really would like to see though, is some better writing in the Elonka Dunin article. If that were anybody else's bio, I would have gone in already and fixed it, but as it is I'm trying to be patient and hopeful, and hope that someone else goes in and rewrites it before I defy Misplaced Pages convention and go in and fix it myself! DreamGuy
I got your message about DreamGuy He seems to think himself in charge of all of the boards or something of that nature. I posted an update to a link on a couple of highly relevant pages; a link which had been on those pages for several months. After my posts DREAMguy went to all of the pages and removed them.
For the several months that the links were on those pages; never once did anyone remove them. Now DREAMguy goes to all of those pages and takes them out; he also stubbornly removes them again after they are added back.
He is acting as if he is somehow above the other users and this is not helping this encyclopedia; a resource which should be controlled by no-one. I would like to see something done about this so that we can return to some level of normalcy.
Please inform me of anything that I can do to help the investigation.
Fun things that makes me really happy! :-)
I have no idea what to write here - it just seemed it was time for a title like that on your page. :-) --TStone 21:36, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- LOL! Yes! And, um, kittens! Chocolate ice cream! Hopefully not at the same time! :) Elonka 21:46, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- Heh, something tells me you know about the other .cx site too. Damn! That one made my eyes shrivel up into dust. But it was quite fun hitting other unsuspecting people with that one. A few faces I wished I had photos of, :-)
- I don't know if you follow my adventures here. Strange really, because I have no idea what it is all about. People who should be happy to know the real world seems upset. Oh well.. if you haven't followed it, then these comments must be really cryptic. Good thing that's your area :-)
