WP:TROUT
{{trout}}
This was one of the most blatant assumptions of bad faith that I have seen on Misplaced Pages. I'm sorry, but you left me no choice. Swarm 03:41, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hahahaha! Wow. All right, fair enough, fair enough. You turned out to be right. I can't say it changes my message; I thought they just as well could've been a new, confused user (as such instances seem to happen occasionally). I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt. Anyway, that certainly is an interesting twist, though. Swarm 08:27, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- The trout came before they were blocked. At that point, their history was irrelevant. They had 50 edits. There's no way I or anyone would've supported them. I saw no behavior that was unbelievable for a newbie. All that aside, I hope you didn't take the trout personally, it's supposed to be more of a lighthearted jest than an admonishment, and I was just being sarcastic when I said "you left me no choice". So yeah, don't take it as a big deal -- it just seemed like you were bitin' a newcomer at the time. Since they turned out to not to be a newcomer, there's no worries :D...right? Swarm 10:05, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, yes, of course. People receive trouts differently, I guess. I swear, I would be the one to send a trout for assuming bad faith the one time someone's actually acting in bad faith. :P Anyway, no hard feelings, of course. Regards, Swarm 10:25, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

WikiCup 2010 July newsletter
We are half-way through our penultimate round, and nothing is yet certain. Pool A, currently led by Sasata (submissions) has ended up the more competitive, with three contestants ( Sasata (submissions), Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) and TonyTheTiger (submissions)) scoring over 500 points already. Pool B is led by Casliber (submissions), who has also scored well over 500. The top two from each pool, as well as the next four highest scorers regardless of pool, will make it through to our final eight. As ever, anything you worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page.
Planning has begun for the 2011 WikiCup, with open discussions concerning scoring and flags for next year's competition. Contributions to those discussions would be appreciated, especially concerning the flags, as next year's signups cannot begin until the flag issue has been resolved. Signups will hopefully open at some point in this round, with discussion about possible changing in the scoring/process opening some time afterwards.
Earlier this round, we said goodbye to Hunter Kahn (submissions), who has bowed out to spend more time on the book he is authoring with his wife. We wish him all the best. In other news, the start of this round also saw some WikiCup awards sent out by Suomi Finland 2009 (submissions). We appreciate his enthusiasm, and contestants are of course welcome to award each other prizes as they see fit, but rest assured that we will be sending out "official" awards at the end of the competition. If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Misplaced Pages:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. GOCE Backlog Elimination Drive Wrap-up
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. Thanks to all who participated in the drive! Over 100 editors—including Jimbo Wales—signed up this time (nearly triple the participants of the May drive). This benefited the Guild as well as the articles in need of copy editing. You can see from the comparison graphs that we increased the number of completed copyedits substantially. Unfortunately, we were not able to meet our goal of completely wiping out 2008 from the queue. We also were not able to reduce the backlog to less than 6,000 articles. We suspect people were busy with real life summertime things, at least in the northern hemisphere! We were able to remove the months of January, February, March, April, and May from the backlog, and we almost wiped out the month of June. We reduced the backlog by 1,289 articles (17%), so all in all it was a very successful drive, and we will be holding another event soon. We'll come up with some new ideas to try to keep things fresh and interesting. Keep up the good work, everybody!

You have made an error
You allowed the recreation of an article that was deleted via a recent AfD. The IPW New Zealand Heavyweight Championship has an existing consensus that it is not notable due to a complete lack of independent third party sources to prove notability. The article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Thank you. !! Justa Punk !! 23:12, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
- I did not make an error. The speedy deletion tag has been removed. Please check the previous deleted version. The new version is different and therefore, the repost deletion tag should not be used in this case. Bejinhan talks 04:45, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- It is NOT different. It is substantially the same and was ruled not notable via an AfD. It doesn't have to be exactly the same to fall under a speedy deletion. !! Justa Punk !! 06:11, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- I did not say that it has to be exactly the same. Prove that it is substantially different. You wouldn't know whether it is different or not seeing that you can't view the deleted version. Bejinhan talks 06:16, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- I remember the deleted version because I nominated it previously and VERY recently. It has the same issues of notability and this has not been addressed. Anyway - to avoid an argument, I've re-nominated it for deletion. I challenge you and the other article supporters to verify it's notability when you didn't previously. !! Justa Punk !! 06:24, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
- I've checked with an admin and have my evidence. See you at the AfD. Bejinhan talks 06:29, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for helping out at WP:FEED as more is always needed. Just letting you know, you should try to notify users with {{feedbackreply}}, {{feedbackreply-sm}}, or {{feedbackreply-alt}} when you give them feedback as many don't know how to get back or that they should read and respond to feedback. Additionally, if the article is a draft, you might offer to move it to mainspace for non-confirmed users and remove the "new unreviewed article" tag from ones already in the mainspace. :) ~ QwerpQwertus Talk ツ 02:31, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi
I'm wondering if you could copy-edit Manufacturing in Hong Kong. As you are the only contributor in the last section of WP:PRV who speaks Chinese (or claims to speak Chinese in the userboxen), I think I've come to the right person for help. :P
I know my prose needs a bit of improvement before it will ever pass GAN. BTW this is not a rush and I've read the message on top, so feel free to (checking the thesaurus for another word that means procrastinate but in a more positive light) take your time. Thanks a million. Kayau Voting IS evil 04:20, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll do it after my Wikibreak. I can speak Chinese but it's not very good.... let's say that it suffice for a broken conversation. ;) I might copy the whole article into a sandbox and then merge it after I've completed or I'll just do it on the article itself. You're welcome. Bejinhan talks 13:55, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

- Hi, sure. I've done a little bit with the lead. By when does it have to be ready? I've promised Kayau that I will work on Manufacturing in Hong Kong after my Wikibreak. I can do yours simultaneously(it will be slow) or after I finish the HK article. Bejinhan talks 05:56, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
- Don't worry there's no rush currently, so you can do it after your current article. Also thanks for the help.KiasuKiasiMan 15:12, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

We also say goodbye to Ian Rose (submissions), who withdrew earlier this month after spending six weeks overseas. Anyone interested in this round's results can see them here and here. Thank you to Stone (submissions) for these.
