Silly Question

Hello, and thanks for the welcome. Silly question from a new user: Where can I find a list of warnings, boilerplates, requests, all the stuff that uses {{}}? I know I found them once, but I can't seem to find them again . . . Thank you very much. -- Ericka Dawn 23:01, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Cheers for the welcome message, Alf. As it happens, I have been wiki-ing for some time and have only really made a flurry of edits in this last week or so. I'm wondering which edit of mine this week has drawn me to your attention? - if it was the Monopoly discussion, then be advised I did make the edit myself which I said I would do but for some reason it has disappeared (and no trace of it on the page history). Hi alf, thanks for the welcome message :) Just a quick note - I filled in a blank page and it doesn't come up when I search for the title of the article. I can only find it via other articles.. is there some time period after which articles become searchable? Thanks mate! Al

Hi Joziboy, it's there - it's at Kenton-on-Sea, the search is not smart so if you type "Kenton on Sea" it won't find it, so I'm going to create a redirect for that one to start with! --Alf 16:49, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Editing

how come i cant edit that page you left me a messgae on?

The IP you are currently using has been used for vandalism in the past to the extent that the talk page was being continually vandalized and had to be protected. --Alf 11:40, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

You can't as it appears you are using a school/college computer, you could create an account, I have now unprotected the talk page as the previous block has expired. --Alf 11:46, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Cute little boxes

Hi again Alf :) Sorry to be a nuisance, but you seem to know what you're doing here! You know those little boxes at the bottom of pages - for example, the one at the end of articles on Italian or German which say 'Official languages of the EU' and have a flag etc... I'd love to create one of those for the official languages of South Africa, but don't know how! Any idea? Joziboy

Depends what you'd like to use it for, one way would be to copy and edit Template:Official EU languages, if that doesn't help, explain what you'd like to do. --Alf 13:21, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Blocking vandal

Hi, Wiki alf. You blocked for a week just after I had blocked for 24 hours. That means that it's only going to be 24 hours, since the shorter block always (as far as I know) overrides the longer one. I support you fully if you want to unblock and then reblock for the longer period, but I just thought I'd let you know. The block log is here. Cheers. AnnH ♫ 14:08, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Comments on page alterations

Alf, why did you altere my inscriptions on the Corinthians page?

And why didn't you leave any comment?

I would apreciate if you did the next time.

Why was 68.96.23.7 blocked? If the block only concerns the vandalism to my user/talk pages, then 7 days is a bit too harsh. I personally don't mind if my user or talk pages are vandalized. If the block is only because this person vandalized my page, then could you shorten it? Of course, if you have other concerns about this person, of course, then do whatever you feel like doing. Deleting Accounts

Hi Wiki Alf, I've been informed by the bureacrats that only admins like you can delete these accounts. Unfortunately, User:Geo Swan has taken control of these accounts and any attempts to clean them up for someone else to use, has been prohibited. Prior to releasing User:Ariele account for others to use, I cleaned it up. But since Geo Swan has taken control, he/she reverted my picture and personal bio for his/her use. This Geo Swan has a vendetta, which is no longer funny. Geo Swan has hidden his/her identity behind this alias, making this person a suspect of very dangerous behavior. I am very concerned about User:Geo Swan self-destructive behavior. Should this issue be brought before Jim Wales?

Again, these were the accounts submitted to the Wiki bureacrats for deletion:

Thank you. Good night. User:Geo Swan left a message stating he/she did not take control. User:Tawker has been very active reverting User:Ariele's user page back after the cleanup. Again, I appreciate your assistance with this matter.
