:Chiming in, when you refer to "Azkals," it certainly refers to the football team (this is outright obvious when used as a written word; no one refers to the dog as an "azkal"). When used as a spoken word, a harder /z/ sound refers to the football team, while the /s/ sound refers to the dog. | |||

Azkals
Hi Banana Fingers - I noticed you are involved in a content dispute at Azkals. Since the content dispute began again basically as soon as protection was removed, I have re-protected the article, so there is a chance to gain consensus on the nickname issue. Single-handedly and repeatedly changing the target of the redirect (or edit-warring in the article) will not lead to the result you want here, and unfortunately you may end up being blocked for edit warring.
It appears that you believe that the nickname "Azkals" should not feature in the article because it is not official or widely used. It does seem, however, that the name is being used in some news sources, and their are references in the article which support this. There has already been a third opinion, which has been in favour of mentioning the name in the article. If you feel strongly about this issue, the way to change the article is via the talk page. Do you think it would be useful to ask editors from WP:FOOTBALL for their thoughts? --Kateshortforbob talk 14:46, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- "Azkals" redirecting to Askal. I don't see what's wrong with that. It's also more appropriate. Banana Fingers (talk) 15:40, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- The problem is that there is obviously some disagreement about whether Azkals should redirect to Askal or to the football team article. The page was originally an article about the football team, and has been a redirect to that article since 2006, which indicates, if not consensus, that is hasn't been something that has caused concern until now. It would be simple to add hatnotes to both articles to avoid confusion, but the redirect needs to be stable, one way or another. Protection is forcing stability at the moment, but I would prefer not to do that in the long run. --Kateshortforbob talk 16:34, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
