Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.
    Shortcuts

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    2000–2009 in fashion (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Indefinite semi-protection, This page has become a haven from massive amounts of spam and original research. The contributing editors that I have seen that understand spam, unreliable sources (random blogs), and OR have left and I can only imagine it's because they feel overwhelmed.

I've cut out several sources to blogspot and wordpress blogs, links to places to buy products, and a good amount of OR but there's still a good amount of work to be done but I feel that working on the article would be fruitless without a semi-protect as it would be overrun with more spam, OR, and unreliable sources very quickly. OlYeller 18:15, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

The problems are exemplified by the fact that almost every one of the 51 sections on the talk page discuss, in some form, how bad the article is. OlYeller 18:20, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Semi-protect. 1-year of semi-protection expired yesterday, and edit-warring and disruption from IPs immediately resumed. Repeated requests to discuss changes on the talk page have been ignored. IllaZilla (talk) 18:02, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

    A Thousand Suns (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Semi-protection. A recent history of persistent vandalism and edit-warring from multiple anonymous users. The page has been protected multiple times before, and it looks like it needs to be again. Thank you. Friginator (talk) 02:55, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 3 months, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Airplaneman 03:49, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

    Current requests for unprotection

    Shortcuts

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

    Shortcut

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Indefinite full protection dispute, Author with apparent conflict of interest editing against consensus and against WP:NOTDIRECTORY and WP:RS. Wknight94 17:15, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Semi-protected for a period of 3 days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Semi-protection is sufficient for now as the editor is not autoconfirmed yet. We can raise the level if necessary later. Dabomb87 (talk) 17:19, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

    Tsitsernavank Monastery (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Full protection Seemingly always updated only partially, despite many comments on talk page to try and ensure citations are also updated as well as mere numbers

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Dabomb87 (talk) 17:03, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Dragon Age II (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection. The page is under heavy siege from IP vandalists, once again. I suggest giving it at least 2-4 weeks, until the dust after its release last month has settled. Rogington (talk) 16:46, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Temporary semi-protection, Need SEMI-protect. New editor does not understand nor cooperate with WP:NOTIMAGE. A week would be helpful. Student7 (talk) 13:51, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Semi-protection would be useless since the other editor is autoconfirmed, and full protection would be too heavy-handed. Dabomb87 (talk) 17:09, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

    Bob's Burgers (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

    Magrudergrind (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Unprotect. This band has became notable after the protection of the page in 2008. In 2009 they have released an album under the Willowtip Records label. In 2010 they have released an EP under the Scion Audio/Visual label. Back in 2006 they released an album under Robotic Empire. Please see http://www.discogs.com/artist/Magrudergrind for confirmation. The WP:BAND criteria states that being signed to two major labels is enough to the notability standards of the Wiki. Thisistimothy (talk) 15:41, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

    Unprotected Dabomb87 (talk) 17:10, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

National Democratic Party (Egypt) (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

Long semi-protection - Random IP addresses (131.96.213.95, 131.96.210.124, 208.74.90.12, 131.96.208.38) likely originating from the same author have been making similarly-worded reverts to unsourced material, and have refused to discuss said edits on the talk page, despite violating consensus. I am requesting a long semi-protection so this can stop and so the user(s) controlling these accounts will have to discuss these changes on the talk page. Toa Nidhiki05 20:45, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Fully protected for a period of 1 week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Dabomb87 (talk) 17:07, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
