Iain Lee (born 9 June 1973) is a British comedian and radio and television presenter, who has appeared on The 11 O'Clock Show, video game review show Thumb Bandits and the ill-fated Channel 4 breakfast show RI:SE. He also presented the documentary Thumb Candy and appears regularly on Channel 4's "Top 100" series of programmes. Most recently he has presented Celebrity Soup for E! Entertainment Television taking a wry look at the weeks celebrity news. He is known to have a penchant for the band KISS, as well as various video games, and regularly refers to them all (and anything else he approves of) as "briwwiant". He started off his career in radio by phoning up Clive Bull and trying (sometimes successfully) to be funny.
Iain was brought up in Slough and attended Herschel Grammar School. He is engaged to be married to his long term girlfriend who is known as 'Fifi' on the show.
LBC 97.3 Radio Show
Iain Lee is a radio presenter on London radio station LBC 97.3 FM. When he joined in January 2005, Iain Lee hosted the 10pm-1am night slot over the weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The later months of 2005 saw his position moving to the afternoon slot, where he aired from between 4pm-7pm, in a show called "The 3 Hour 4 'Till 7 Iain Lee Afternoon Wireless Show". This shift was seen as highly controversial as many liked Iain being on at the weekends, but the shift meant people will hear more of Iain. At the beginning of 2006, his hours were shifted slightly (to make room for the returning Anna Raeburn and 'The Big Quiz', hosted by Gary King). The new name for his new time slot reflects the hours he is now on the air, hosting his phone-in talk show - "The 3 and a Half Hour 3 'Till 6:30 Iain Lee Afternoon Wireless Show formerly The 3 Hour 4 'Till 7 Iain Lee Afternoon Wireless Show".
Iain originally joined the station to present the night slot on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, and his style is less political or serious and much more irreverent than other daytime presenters. He is good friends with LBC evening presenter Clive Bull with whom he has in the past had a running feud involving practical jokes such as substituting a picture of Phil Collins for the picture of Clive Bull on the official LBC 97.3 website. Iain & Clive have now buried the hatchet to become "Radio Friends"; however a new feud started with former friend James O'Brien, Iain calling James a 'Moonface'. So James O'Brien challenged Iain to a race around a football pitch. Iain was very confident by saying "He would moonwalk the finish line", and won against James O'Brien on 12 December 2005 in a race held at Westway Sports Centre.
Iain has a number of correspondents, who are regular listeners, appointed by him to report on subjects such as 'Podcast', 'Video Games', 'London Underground', 'Misplaced Pages', and 'The Platypus'. There is a Wikipedian who is also a Correspondent. The opportunity to become a correspondent is a rare one and much valued by his fans. To celebrate his birthday, a small number of correspondents have been favoured with the even more prestigious title of "Uber-Correspondent" but the one which the biggest prestigious title was Vatsal from India with "Web Uber Veteran 5 Star Correspondent". This hallowed status can only be dreamt of by most. On 23 September 2005 a major shakeup of the correspondent list occurred. Some lost their jobs, but others joined the line-up to bring listeners updates on even more varied subjects. However, a special "Diagnosis Murder" correspondent was elected on the 15 November. Another shakeup happened on 27 December 2005, when some new correspondents were instantly promoted to "Uber Correspondent", (quite a few cuts were made and about 20 new correspondents appointed). The next correspondent update is expected in April. On 25 January 2006, Iain Lee sacked the International Hockey Correspondent & Wallington County Grammar School Correspondent.
The following correspondents were sacked by Iain up to 9th March 2006
- Diagnosis Murder Correspondent – Francesca in The Croydon

- Fitness in Rap Correspondent – Colin in The Fulham
- General Fashion Correspondent - Neelima
- Green Day Correspondent – Megan

New correspondents will be announced on April 7th.
Iain has his own master of sound effects known only as Wisdom Jones, renowned for his sound effects. Wisdom Jones visited the studio on the 28th of August and treated the listeners to yet more live sound effects.
Iain's show is one of the list of LBC programmes which are subscription podcast via the internet, as well as a free podcast available through iTunes.
Iain Lee has also been known to reward his regular listeners. His Knight Rider correspondent was recently sent to see the car KITT featured in the show, thanks to Iain.
In January 2006, Iain Lee admitted on air to having been suspended for a day (Friday 6 January) for calling a caller a dickhead on air. This explains his absence and a recorded show being broadcast on that day. Iain holds a session where callers go straight to air between 6pm to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. It is extremely popular and many people do a mixture of things such as playing pieces of music, swearing, making disusting sounds or other comedic pieces. Others do impressions, or 'take the mick'; for example, one caller said "Iain Lee was in the same league as Mike Mendoza".
Some callers also like to do impersonations of other talk radio presenters, such as Clive Bull, talkSPORT's Mike Mendoza, Charlie Wolf and Mike Dickin.
On Wednesday 1st March 2006, Iain's producer, Agent Chris took over and presented the day's edition of Triple M, or Mick's Mental Mayhem. It is unknown whether this will be continued in future editions of this show.
