::::: Yes, I want to see FAC improved, ''changed''. The FA process should not have "delegates". It's an imperial power being passed to a chosen few. The place needs openness not rulers-for-life, not rulers passing sceptres along. They want control of the "FA process" because they've structured the door to appearances on the main page as having to go through their process. Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Titania, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted (undone) by ClueBot NG.- Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Misplaced Pages articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
- ClueBot NG produces very few false positives, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been detected as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
- The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Titania was changed by Alarbus (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.899497 on 2011-11-01T09:41:00+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 09:41, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
That wasn't vandalism. I'm putting it back. Alarbus (talk) 09:44, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Hey there...
I'm glad to see you're still around. If you ever want to go back to OMT, you'll be welcome. Happy New Year! Buggie111 (talk) 21:28, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
- WP:Off-My-Turf? I think not. I have been working on a bunch of the battleship articles, though. Most of the BBs are wrecks or broken up for scrap... which is the fate of most things people build. Alarbus (talk) 09:06, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Thank you
I see the work you're doing on the FAs I've worked on, and I appreciate it. I don't know how I am going to replace that Erste ref, I'll search for an archived version.--Wehwalt (talk) 12:53, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- I'm in the middle of a note on your talk... Alarbus (talk) 12:55, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
all Brazilian lawyers so insightful?
Sorry for having not answered earlier, Alarbus. Nice to meet you. Although I appreciate your interest, i won't be able to help, since I'm leaving Misplaced Pages. Once I'm done with my latest FAC (Luís Alves de Lima e Silva, Duke of Caxias), I'll be out of here. I've waisted too much time for too litle. I'm fed up with the people at the FAC. Everytime I'm there, it's nothing more than a huge headache. This is just not worth it anymore. However, I wish you good luck. Kind regards, --Lecen (talk) 22:27, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- What's the rush? WT:FAC#FAC 2012 FA-Cabal Elections are on the table. I agree that there are problems over there; I believe the close mindedness is apparent to many and that if wider input is sought, a wider range of opinions and participation will restart the moribund process. The power structure is a relic from the early days of wp. Raul is FA Director simply because Jimmy said so about seven years ago. Did you happen to read wmf:Resolution:Openness? The WMF wants greater openness in all of their wikis; the yknow all about the hostility that the communities have developed. wp is crawling with information about American Television, World War II, European history, but coverage of people such Teresa Cristina of the Two Sicilies and Princess Maria Amélia of Brazil is important, too. See the drama at the Arbitration board? The civility, hostility and agressive behaviours are being looked at. It isn't about sharp words, it's about wiki-warfare approaches. - Do you think I'm the only veteran editor who is leaving or has left? There is one group who has taken charge of the FAC and rules it according to their will, regardless of common sense. Why there are fewer and fewer editors there? Tkae a look: it's always the same editors who nominate articles or review nominations. There is an editor over there called Malleus Factuorum who calls people "arses", tell them to "fuck themselves" and is treated as a god because, I don't know why, he is the greatest copy editor on Earth. It's easy to treat others bad when you're protected by a nickname. If someone complains such behavior, you'll see SandyGeorgia (a FAC delegate) and Nikkimaria (a kind of unnofficial FAC delegate) protecting him at all cost. Who wants to work on such a hostile environment, where the basic rules of civility aren't respected? I asked on the FAC talk page to keep Malleus Factuorum away from my nomination. People there (read: his friends) said that I couldn't accept critisms and that even though Mallesu Factuorum and I can't stand each other, he would still be able to be "neutral" when reviewing my article. Is that a joke? Contributing for Misplaced Pages isn't fun anymore, at least not to me. Again, I wish you all luck. You're going to need it. And you're going to need a lot of work to bring more editors to the FAC process. Regards, --Lecen (talk) 23:16, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- P.S.: Please, if you have time, take a look at Empire of Brazil. You won't find anywhere, not on the internet, not on books, such a comprehensive work about Brazil. We're talking about the 6th largest economy on the world and one of the largest countries by size. Do you have any idea how much work I had to read all the books used as sources, to scan all those very rare photos used on the article, to write the article itself? I didn't get a single "nice work, man". Everytime I nominate an article at the FAC, I have to endure SandyGeorgia treat me with suspicion, or downright contempt. --Lecen (talk) 23:24, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) I will; I'd already seen it via the navbox for it... There's lots of good here. It is not all nasty people. Alarbus (talk) 23:30, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- I know. All of it. There are retired banners all over the place. The Executive Director of WMF is using terms like "Death Spiral". That's what all those people are in full-war mode. See Misplaced Pages:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Civility enforcement/Workshop, Misplaced Pages talk:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Civility enforcement/Evidence, others.
- FA is one of the last power structures that is left over from the Imperial Jimmy era. They are in a rage because the see the writing on the wall: “openness”. The WMF want's to rip off the hide the project has developed that is repelling so many newer users. If you criticise, you get attacked; I have been, other have been, you were.
- There are good people here, but they're harder to find. Don't lose faith. See here: Misplaced Pages:Misplaced Pages Signpost/2012-01-02/Interview.
