CastleMiner is a 2011 video game released on Xbox Live Indie Games on July 27, 2011. It is a block-building sandbox game similar to Minecraft. The game uses Xbox Live Avatars as the player-characters.
CastleMiner uses xbox live avatars as their characters. CastleMiner is like FortressCraft creative mode. The major difference with CastleMiner is that you have access to over 200 different blocks.
Gameplay
When a new game is started, players can choose one of six different world types: lagoon, coastal, classic, flatland, desert, and arctic. Once the game loads, they spawn in the middle of the map. From here, they can start exploring the world or build different structures with a variety of blocks already given to them. They can also dig into the ground and build in the caves.

- There are currently over 200 blocks in the game, each with their own unique design.
- Players can teleport to the surface, starting point or another player's location.
- A categorized user-interface when selecting blocks.
- Players can decide who can build in their worlds.
- Players can choose whether or not their online worlds are private or accessible to the public.
- Players have the option to kick or ban people from the server.

CastleMiner Z is an Xbox Live Indie Game that was released on November 9, 2011.
CastleMiner Z is considered an expansion of CastleMiner. In CastleMiner Z, players have to mine for their own minerals instead of being given minerals to them. Players can also craft weapons, such as a rifle or a knife. The other important change is the addition of zombies as enemies.
Awards
CastleMiner Z introduces "Awards", which are awarded for doing different things such as playing online for a certain number of hours, traveling at least a certain distance, crafting various items, and killing several zombies.
