Thanks for everything
Dear Godo Dodo
Thank you for all your help. I will take your advice and will stop my work for Ilovethebeach.com and will start working on some other project. If there are any new reliable sources please feel free to see me. Take care

Friendly question
Hi GD - just wondering why this block was necessary after only 2 edits? Is there a long term abuse pattern with this website that I'm missing? Also - popups is showing the account is both blocked and locked, something I've never seen before... do you know what that is? Thanks 7 07:24, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- I blocked Janicejohnson11 because I ran across two other accounts that were spamming the same thing or similar things: Janicejohnson1 and Liposuctionbeverlyhills. The random first name, lower case last name, with a number and no spaces is a pattern that I've noticed lately with the spammers. Like Scotkaiser95, Stellamercer 9, and Joannawinston919. They do the whole SEO link thing on their talk page right after account creation and make zero other edits.
- As for the LOCKED thing, that would be a global lock in lieu of being globally blocked. See here, too. And the log entry on meta. The domain that were spamming got globally blacklisted, too. So the spammer got noticed by somebody else, too. They also made a mistake and edited while logged out, 202.53.74.2 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:55, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Got it - thanks. 7 09:35, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- No problem. The locked thing confused me when I first saw it, too. I was like "Locked? I didn't lock them out of anything." I had to read the source code to figure out what it meant and even then I was confused. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 17:11, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
External Link Deleted
Hello, I'm new to the author side of Misplaced Pages and I attempted to add an external link to the Wiki page for the game Darkspore. I'm the author of a video game review blog that was created with the sole purpose of providing 'gamers' with information I've collected through playing a particular game. In short, I like to think of my reviews first and foremost as a resource for others to use in order to learn more about a game before they decide whether or not to buy it for themselves. I believe my edit was promptly deleted on the grounds that it was made purely in the spirit of self-promotion, which is certainly not the case as my identity remains on anonymous on my blog as well as on Misplaced Pages. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to clear up the matter or if my personal resource just isn't acceptable. Thank you very much. KodiakNightLight (talk) 05:53, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

What can I do next?
Hi GD,
I noticed you have deleted a Page I created for TodaysDraw.com. I have reviewed the Misplaced Pages policies and I do realize that I was in violation. I was not trying to promote the website but trying to create a buisness page since a lot of our subscribers want simple facts about us.
I have two requests:
1. Can you guied me about how I can go about creating a business page. Just to clarify, I have put a request for an article creation by editors.
2. When people search for todaysdraw, the deleted, Misplaced Pages page is coming up. That is bad for us. Can I redirect the page or request for a userfication?
Please advise. Am really interested in creating a positive experience here at Misplaced Pages and do not want to violate any policies, while providing information baout TodaysDraw.com
Thanks.

Please Restore and Userfy TodaysDraw.com
Hi GD,
Thanks for your response. Have noted ur feedbaack.
Please do restore and userfy the article. I understand that there will be no redirects. As long as we don't feature on a Google search/Deleted Misplaced Pages Page, we are good. Meanwhile, I will review the Business Page policies and only then consider creating a Business Page.
Thank you.

Lirfers
I noticed that User:Lirfers vandalized several UConn-related articles and then you blocked him for multiple accounts. We had an issue a couple months ago with vandalism on those same articles (Ray Reid) in particular. People were just adding nonsense to it. Someone said he was hit by a soccer ball at an Occupy Storrs protest, among other things. One of the members of Goal Patrol (fan group) is also a leader in Occupy Storrs and was really upset. So basically, being an experienced Misplaced Pages editor and a Goal Patrol member myself, I calmed him down and said I would watch the page more closely in the future and undo any changes as soon as I could. But it appears Lirfers vandalized it. I was in class at the time, but I see you managed to undo it pretty quickly. You blocked him, which is good, but I'm wondering if he has any other socks out there, especially since he's editing articles that had previously been targeted. Perhaps it's something to look into... - Was that by any chance User:Larfers and User:Chris Jalled? I found the former while trying similar names to Lirfers to see if any existed. And he apparently edited Bel Air, North Dakota with Chris Jalled. Smartyllama (talk) 15:00, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

MSU Interview
Dear Gogo Dodo,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Misplaced Pages administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
- Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
- Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
- All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
- All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
- The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.
Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.
Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 19:35, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Is there anyway I can retrieve what I previously posted. You've deleted the article therefore I can't even pass the message on. I would appreciate it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KrystalLopez (talk • contribs) 00:19, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Survivor Names
Hello. I noticed you reverted my edits to adding names to Survivor contestants (I apologize for using a random IP address beforehand). The reason you gave was "Rv, names as listed in show". However, I would like to point out that many other contestants didn't use their real names on the show, such as GC, Sugar and Bob in Gabon and I see no reason why Susie's was deleted exclusively. The same applies for all 23 articles I have edited to make better. Regards! ZephyrWind (talk) 03:55, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Truco in Venezuela, speedy deletion
Why is this article set for speedy deletion? It is a local variant of an international game with it's own national history and game structure. Saying this article is unnecessary is like saying that the article on australian football is not necessary because we already have the one on association football. I intended to write a very complete article in the next few days. I will not continue working on this until I know my work will not be "speedy deleted" without the consensus of other authors who are knowledgeable in the topic.
