Riya Sen

I suggest you re-apply for GA status, improvements have been made soundly. Universal Hero (talk) 13:50, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Re: Riya Sen

Hi there! Yes, I've been watching it since I lay my eyes upon it during its last GAN. I will share my comments within the next 6 hours. However, what shocked me is that its talk page says that the article is listed as a part of the Pornography portal. Did you notice that?! :O Mspraveen (talk) 11:19, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Upon my search, this action was performed by User:Arundhati lejeune. I don't quite see sense in doing so. Thoughts? Mspraveen (talk) 11:27, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
I hope you didn't mind me relocating few paragraphs here and there. I did so in order to see some consistency in the sections. Furthermore, I did some copy-editing to my knowledge. But, I know there are far too many editors out there who are better than me in this. I will be seeing this once again to make improvements, particularly in the last section that I haven't seen much as yet. Btw, where are you from? Mspraveen (talk) 05:05, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
Read this. Mspraveen (talk) 16:22, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Sad, but if this were to succeed in its further nominations, say A-class/FA, his arguments are perfect. I saw it with Mr. and Mrs. Iyer FAC. Hence free images are in hot demand! Try and see if you can find someone to release a good modeling image of hers under GFDL. Mspraveen (talk) 16:59, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I'll have a read later. Riya Sen is very hot huh? I can see you are a hot blooded male! lol ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 12:42, 29 March 2008 (UTC) Yes I find her very attractive too. I've had a quick glance and off hand it looks like it needs a good deal of work to become a GA. Some of the more controversial statements will need referencing in places, and some of the wording is clumsy in places and doesn't flow -hence it needs a thorough copy edit. It also looks like in places there are still a few peacock words and POV issues which need to be addressed. I'll read more into it later ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 14:52, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

One of my favourites is Haifa Wehbe a gorgeous Lebanese singer and model. Have a look here ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 15:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

My edit to Thong (clothing)

Hi, I was actually going to do something with that list, and indeed I have added what i consider to be the notable bits in a section on controversy, and have nominated "Thongs in the news" for deletion as it is, as you say, an utter waste of space. -mattbuck (Talk) 21:23, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Riya Sen

No problem. Shahid15:54, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Needs much copyediting, as I see now in other sections. I'll make some improvements and then comment. Shahid15:51, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
I've made major copyediting, grammar correction, etc., and in my opinion it looks better. I'm yet to go through the personal life section. What do you say? Shahid17:10, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

I've looked over it its improved a lot since I last looked and it; I've made some changes including a new image. I think it needs a good bit of copy editing to be honest. Some of the phrases and sentences are quite awkward and will need complete altering. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 18:14, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

"Riya Sen, since joining Bollywood, has become a representative of the aspirations of younger people of India by way of her clothing style, kissing scenes and outgoing manners" -this is far too generalized and POV however much of a model she is. All the stuff on the glitzy parties and bikinis. Much of that reads like blog and will have to be seriously cut and reworded ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 18:23, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello there! I'm just as excited as you are for the Riya Sen's GA nomination. I hope your patient wait will be worth it! How are you, btw? Whats keeping you busy these days? Cheers! Mspraveen (talk) 15:44, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi there. Good to hear from you. I'm doing fine. Thank you. I'm not quite sure about any further failures for the article. I'll be around, so in case you need any assistance while it is being reviewed, you know whom to ping. Btw, I didn't understand your allusion to recession - as in the Bangla's economy? Cheers! Mspraveen (talk) 16:51, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Sex symbol

Avoid the phrase if your only sources are random articles from the cinema section of regional papers, please. The phrase means something specific with sociological connotations, and in other film articles is placed only with care. Remember that some Indian papers tend to use phrases without that much care; for example, I can google pretty much every major female Bollywood star and discover dozens of references calling them a sex symbol. That basically renders it meaningless and unencyclopaedic based on that quality ref.

--Relata refero (disp.) 11:26, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Thong (clothing)

Hi there. In your recent edit to Thong (clothing) , you supplied an edit summary of: "we can't have refs before the copy, wikipedia doesn't work that way." I am rather confused as to what you meant by that. Could you please explain in greater detail? Thanks Seidenstud (talk) 09:11, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

two questions

Isn't it standard procedure to put Template:Delrev on the deleted/deletable page as described by WP:DRV instructions? I found the edit summary a bit derogatory. Are image discussions and actions supposed to be inherently rude? Aditya 01:24, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

{{delrev}} is usually used only for pages which have a keep decision appealed or which are restored during a DRV so that people can see the previous content. Image description pages without an actual image to correspond to them are deleted as a general standard. As for the description, it's taken directly from the deletion dropdown. British Bangladeshi

  • The article British Bangladeshi has a lot of information including the history more importantly, which I have significantly developed, and I think it should be reviewed to see if it can be given a Good article or even a Featured article, because contains large amounts of information than other related article, so please can you review article? Thanks. Moshin (talk) 13:38, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Haha 'Mama Mia guy'. By the way it's not my real name just changed it so I don't get identified by me mates :) Now I will definetly remember, not to copy and paste some of the writing, basicially it's like a coursework right? Where you develop your work, and making sure it is backed by sources, which are not copied, I will keep that in mind for sure, just need a few more adjustments then that's it, but my grammar in English is seriously bad, can't really turn little words into big complexed one's, so I might need some help. Hopefull yeah, I would look onto other stuff, the Hindu population has gone smaller every year hasn't it, facing discrimination and all that heard about it, and the Ahmidiyass and Biharis. Anyways, Thanks a lot for your help. M Miah (talk) 14:16, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey, the article has just been promoted to a GA status, just like to say thanks for your support and everything and helping me out with the article, couldn't have done it without your help, Thanks!!! Mohsin 11:05, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
Another Barnstar? man did I deserve that one? :) hmm an FA would be really great for the article, the problem is mainly the length. I dont know if I should go to that article again, over 500 edits you know, do need a break from that, probably memorized by now :) Thanks a lot for your help, Cheers. Hey if you wanna make it an FA go ahead! Mohsin (talk) 12:00, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Hello, Aditya Kabir. You have new messages at Troy 07's talk page.

Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed

Dear Aditya, Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed was not a chief adviser, he was a president of an interim government of Bangladesh, he was appointed as head of the state and head of the government too. --Anwarul Islam (talk) 04:26, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Jayne Mansfield

I would suggest either a block, or a semi-protection for the article. The only serious contributors to the article recently seemed to have been registered users. The IP is only interested in pushing one point. A semi-protect might lead to the person getting bored and moving on. Rossrs (talk) 13:21, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Khwaja Salimullah

Hi. I'm an admin working the copyright problems board and just wanted to say good work on catching copyright violations in that article! I've joined you in your effort to address those and believe that I've removed or revised everything that followed too closely still on the sources pasted in. As important a man as he seems to have been, I can see why he attracts outside contributors, but I do wish that they would familiarize themselves with our copyright policies before adding text. Anyway, good job. :) --Moonriddengirl 18:12, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Thank you! That's very kind of you. :) I should have given it to you, though. All I did was follow up on what you were doing. --Moonriddengirl 19:16, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Catsuits and bodysuits in popular media

Please point to the particular scene, line, or critical commentary which says that a particular catsuit was made of lycra, leather, pleather, or whatever. Corvus cornixtalk 06:19, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

If you don't like the material (leather/latex/vinyl) to be there without a citation, then remove them I thought about that but figured I'd get reverted. Corvus cornixtalk 17:53, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

wardrobe malfunction

I'll give you Social aspects of clothing and to a lesser extent Voyeurism (though I highly disagree with this one as well), but how do you explain Wedgie, Whale tail, Downblouse and Upskirt, when none of these subjects involve a "defect" in an article of clothing or accidental exposure of one's body part? These all imply either a deliberate exposure or simply the visual effect of an article of clothing - not a result in an exposure due to a defect. The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 08:47, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

In context, now I can see how those terms apply with the expansion you've given to the article. Though on a personal level I still disagree. There is obviously a big difference in a defect in an article of clothing and an intentional display, but ...whatever. Nice job so far. The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 19:50, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Sounds good. :) The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 01:49, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Biman Bangladesh Airlines on MainPage

Hi Aditya,

Hope you are well. Been a while since I did any real stuff here on WP due to other commitments but noticed that Biman Bangladesh Airlines is scheduled for the mainpage on Sunday, 28th September. It's been a while since it became FA and there have been major changes to the organisation since then. I'll try and spare some time to brush it up a bit. Please take a look and keep an eye during its mainpage debut. Thanks. → AA11:19, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

String bikini

Dear AK, don't you think we need a separate article on string bikini? I also feel that we can make our Bikini article a "good article". I also started the bio of Louis Réard, who invented bikini in 1946. Your help will be useful. Have a nice day! :-) AdjustShift (talk) 07:16, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. I'll do my best for the betterment of bikini-related articles. Have a nice day! :-) AdjustShift (talk) 13:27, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Take a look

Please take a look to the newly created article Bangladesh University of Professionals. I think the hole article should be rewritten. Thank you. Tanvir che (talk) 06:49, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Now the article got a shape. Thank you. Tanvir che (talk) 05:37, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

New problem

After adding the Bangladesh University of Professionals in List of universities in Bangladesh, we have got only 28 public universities. But according to daily star reporting Bangladesh University of Professionals is the 29th public university in Bangladesh. We have lost one, which one? Tanvir che (talk) 05:45, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

List of Prime Ministers of Bangladesh

Dear Aditya, we can write another article titled head of the government of Bangladesh. The history of the government of Bangladesh is not straight, some times it was under presidential and some times it was under the parliamentary system. So, we can start an individual article on the Head of the Government of Bangladesh. We will contribute as our capacity. --Anwarul Islam (talk) 15:49, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Whale Tail

You may want to look at Template:Cite book, which gives a better description of how to cite books. They are not cited with a weblink they are usually cited then added to the notes section. But citing Book Name (Page 20) in the middle of a sentence is wrong. And you can't violate 3RR if you are adding and citing material. So you are fine on that count, I was trying to remove the information while I found the right page to refer you to. Darrenhusted (talk) 13:51, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

For your reference here is how to list books. Darrenhusted (talk) 14:14, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Forks

Let's get the British Raj/India thing resolved first. That will cut down the list a bit. Indies should be a dab page IMO. =Nichalp «Talk»= 13:38, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

What's the final status?

What is the final status of Wikiproject Bangladesh Universities? Thank you. Tanvir che (talk) 10:03, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Public universities

I've found all 30 public universities. Other two were Rangpur University and Jessore Science and Technology University. And updated these two on List of universities in Bangladesh. You can take a look. Thank you. Tanvir che (talk) 06:31, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

I've changed my user name.

Bikini and world heritage site

Dear Aditya Kabir, please explain your revert of my edit on the Bikini article. My goal was to copyedit the section to reduce the detail not directly linked with Bikini. It contains a lot of detail about the mosaics in general. Unless there is a link between fact that the mosaics are a world heritage site and that they depict bikinis, there is no benefit mentioning it in this article. Inwind (talk) 08:35, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Generally the earliest finds of anything which has a old enough story to tell does it in as much details as possible in the early part, and gradually become more constrained. That's how encyclopedias, academic journals, magazines and newspapers go in style of writing. The article is very much in under construction, and it would be greatly beneficial if we stop removing stuff, rather than strengthening the weak spots. I perfectly appreciate your concern, but method-wise, I guess, we need to keep it for now. Since the article is being worked on, very much, just have a bit ore patient. You'll have ample time to remove almost anything you don't like later. Aditya 09:30, 15 December 2008 (UTC)(copied from User talk:Inwind#Re: Bikini)
Everyone should win since there is no loss of information. I enjoy working interactively with other people, sometimes on whole articles, sometimes only on certain aspects. I believe in continuous improvement, i.e. people do not edit without reason. If more contributers are working on an article more views can be included.Inwind (talk) 10:04, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

HI ADitya via

How's it going man? I hope you are fine. It has been a long time since I've seen you. Missing you a lot. I hope I would finally get a chance to meet you. Hope you're fine. If you have sometime, please have a look at the article 2009 Bangladesh Rifles revolt. Keep it up! Regards --Tarif from Bangladesh (talk) 20:39, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Dude, your article totally rocks. I am sorry for the violence, but it seems as if you have captured the incident with journalistic skill. Have a great day!Jarhed (talk) 02:26, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Howdy Aditya

You know that I am from Dallas, right? Like I said, I admire the work you did on the Bikini article, and I will work on it as I have time. Have a great day, and I will talk to you soon.Jarhed (talk) 02:21, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Like I said, I will help as I can. Unfortunately, everytime I start doing research, I get distracted. :) Jarhed (talk) 18:08, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Jayne Mansfield rumours (again)

I really don't think this belongs here; for one thing it was inserted, IIRC, by banned sockpuppeteer User:Harvey Carter whose attitude to reliable sources was always suspect. Looking at the cited sources, the first cannot be regarded as a third-party source, and the second looks like a tabloid-writer's hatchet-job. Per WP:REDFLAG, I've deleted this section pending proper sourcing, which I will look into. Although it's not a WP:BLP issue, we still have a responsibility to report relevant and reliably-sourced material. --Rodhullandemu 19:21, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Dhaka article

I am kind of busy right now, I am wondering if you can do it. Someone need to fix the citations in Dhaka's article. Most of the citations are messed up. All the citations need to be in the same format (I recommend making all the citations in APA format WP:Citing_sources/example_style since most of the article already is in the APA format) and all the citations need the required informations such as author, date of the article, retrieved date, format and etc as recommended by wikipedia (WP:CITE). For example, "Town planning for Bangladesh : Vision 2020". The Daily Star. 2008-11-08. http://www.thedailystar.net/story.php?nid=62337. Retrieved on 2008-12-15." is missing the author and is cited in MLA format (in APA format, the date should be after the author NOT near the end). Tarikur (talk) 16:51, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Cryptic Fate

An editor has nominated Cryptic Fate, an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Cryptic Fate and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Jezhotwells (talk) 23:03, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

It doesn't look too bad to me now, but I may have missed the odd slip-up, and might have misinterpreted first/last names and initials, so please give it a once-over to see if I've messed up anywhere! :-) --Red Sunset 22:42, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Greater India

It would be better if you could discuss and go through the concerned article's history () before making such edits. Thanks --Nosedown (talk) 23:18, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

I clearly mentioned in the edit summary that the gallery was imported to, and not from, Indianized kingdom. The gallery should be removed from the article on Indianized kingdom since not all images in this gallery are linked to the concerned topic. In other words, these images are more relevant to the Greater India article. And I apologize for the removal of the "Evolution of the term". That was done by mistake. --Nosedown (talk) 17:15, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Good job. The article is in much better shape now. Cheers --Nosedown (talk) 17:25, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Your signature

Hello, I noticed your signature is Aditya, even though your username is Aditya Kabir. As this is potentially confusing for other people (since my username is Aditya) could you please change your signature, or expand it to Aditya Kabir? Thanks. Aditya ß 14:38, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

I assure you when I changed my username I had no idea anyone else would have "Aditya" as their signature. It's all right I suppose, as long as we stay out of each other's way. Aditya ß 13:46, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

South Asia

My political affiliations, grudges etc are not relenvant here, it's just a matter of simple english reading skills:

this is what the sentence reads:

"It also encompasses the 562 protected princely states that became integral parts of the Union of India, but was not directly ruled by the Raj, including Hyderabad State, Kingdom of Mysore, State of Jammu and Kashmir, Baroda, and Gwalior. Sikkim joined India in 1975"

The sentence is constructed (assuming good faith) so as to imply that Jammu and kashmir is an integral part of India along with the other mentioned states, this is obviously not true, so the sentence needs to be correctly rephrased. Khokhar (talk) 21:15, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments on my talk page, I would be happy to lend a hand, but I am not always very active so will try to help whenever possible. Regards. Khokhar (talk) 19:59, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

An/I

Hello, Aditya Kabir. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

Thong (clothing)

1. Please stop adding empty sections to an article. The "Further Versions" section which says nothing more than "There are other versions that are necessarily not regarded as thongs" is completely pointless. You've added it twice now.

2. A dance belt is specifically a type of men's dancewear. That is why that section was under the "Men's Thongs" heading. You have twice now moved it below another section specifically addressing a style of WOMEN'S thongs.

3. Do not remove an image simply because you don't like it. The image "mensthong.jpg" clearly illustrates the vertical seam often found in thongs specifically cut for men. It is completely relevant to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.147.57.213 (talk) 20:04, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Category:Chowdhury family

Hi! You proposed speedy deletion of Category:Chowdhury family. I've nominated it at CfD instead, because it doesn't match any of the speedy deletion criteria. I've copied your rationale to the nomination, which is located here. Feel free to participate on the discussion on that page. Regards, Jafeluv (talk) 10:43, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Dwight Hooker

The article Dwight Hooker has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references to support claims. Only ref is to playboy

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. mark nutley (talk) 13:28, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Articles for deletion nomination of Dwight Hooker

I have nominated Dwight Hooker, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Dwight Hooker. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. CIreland (talk) 16:30, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Autopatrolled

Hello, this is just to let you know that I have granted you the "autopatrolled" permission. This won't affect your editing, it just automatically marks any page you create as patrolled, benefiting new page patrollers. Please remember:

  • This permission does not give you any special status or authority
  • Submission of inappropriate material may lead to its removal
  • You may wish to display the {{Autopatrolled}} top icon and/or the {{User wikipedia/autopatrolled}} userbox on your user page

If you have any questions about the permission, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, happy editing!--HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:16, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

Whale tail

You restored all the irrelevant material about "Other whale tails", which is disappointing to see. Misplaced Pages articles are about single topics (in this case a type of visible underwear), not topics that happen to share a name. That is not an article on the phrase "whale tail". Surely you understand this?

I merged the material on the spoiler to Spoiler (automotive)#Whale tail, and added entries to wiktionary:whale tail and wiktionary:whale's tail (where they could be supported). I've restored the material about the car spoiler to the Spoiler (automotive) article - please don't revert. Removing it from that article and adding it back to an article on visible underwear was a poor editing decision, because the content is about spoilers, not visible underwear. The cobbled together section remaining on various obscure uses of the term "whale tail" that uses some fairly unreliable sources definitely detracts from this article, and I don't see why you're defending its inclusion. review request

Hi - I know we were in firm disagreement over Greater Bangladesh and things got testy, but I will greatly appreciate your feedback on how I can improve myself. I just opened an editor review. Please do spare a moment and let me know if I said or did anything questionable. I especially request if you can point out the parts of our notability/reliable sources policies you feel I need to improve my understanding. I am interested in adminship, and I request you for some advice on how I can prepare myself. Shiva (Visnu) 15:20, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

You stole my thoughts :) - I had actually decided to start work on resolving all the outstanding problems on the article. The AfD ended in no consensus, not a clear keep, which means the article needs substantial improvement. We can't leave it like it is. I'm currently looking for a few more reliable sources. I'll list my proposed changes on the talkpage first, to get your agreement before I make them. Shiva (Visnu) 21:56, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Anandabhadram

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am glad to be reviewing the article Anandabhadram you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. Hello. Although I will address questions on the review page, I am curious if the editorial concerns raised during the 2009 GA reassessment were met. Viriditas (talk) 08:49, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
FYI...the correct procedure for adding archival links is to retain the old links in the url field, but to add two new fields "archiveurl" and "archivedate". See the documentation at Template:Cite web for info. Viriditas (talk) 10:41, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Personal attacks

Regarding your comment: "Cresix and Nightscream, please, discuss on the discussion page, no need to form a tagteam". First, we HAVE discussed on the talk page. Secondly, two editors can disagree with you without it being "tagteam". That is assuming bad faith and a personal attack. Accordingly:
Please do not attack other editors. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Cresix (talk) 15:54, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. My apologies. No need to template a regular, though. Would you, please, take part in the discussion or address the issues raised in the discussion now? Aditya 15:58, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Apology accepted. Yes, for personal attacks, regulars should be templated. Personal attacks are never a minor issue. If you didn't deserve a template, you wouldn't have made the attack to begin with, especially since both editors that you attacked had already contributed to the discussion. Now, I have in fact responded to the latest discussion. You and I have a disagreement about whether a source is reliable. Your opinion is no better than mine on that issue. So seek resolution instead of constantly reverting. Thank you. Cresix (talk) 16:01, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
That exactly is my recommendation regarding reverting. But, as for reliability of a source, I think Misplaced Pages has policies and practices quite firmly in place, no matter what you or I believe. And, I would rather follow that. And, I am happy that templating have served some purpose for you. Aditya 16:07, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Cite the policy that specifically states that the source cited is unreliable. Not your opinion; the policy. Thanks. Cresix (talk) 16:13, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Better source request for File:K 0261A.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:K 0261A.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 02:20, 25 December 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your forbearance. I am please to tell you that I have implemented the changes to Bangladesh banner. Your project is now the third project with this cutting-edge banner that controls part of the A-Class review process! Please let me know if there are any problem with any (old or new) functions of the banner.

I have added a note to this page and your project member can now --if this is desired -- begin to tailor the review process as outlined here to your needs, by modifying individual steps as necessary. I would be delighted to provided an opinion if necessary. I hope you find this a valuable addition to your project for quality assessment.

Bambusa vulgaris

Hi Aditya Kabir, I have not forgotten about helping with the B. vulgaris article. I am currently working on a large list of disambiguations and when I am finished will take another look at it. It does need some work, but can see you have striven mightily to be thorough. As for rating it a "B", I would leave that to members of WikiProject Plants, although there is no prohibition from you rating it yourself, as far as I know. After all, WP is the encyclopedia anyone can edit.

One tip: all mentions of species' scientific names in the article should be in italics, without exception; this includes the genus and the specific epithet, whether written out completely, or abbreviated. To whit: B. vulgaris, Bambusa vulgaris. All levels above the level of genus are never italicized, so they can always be left alone.

I promise to get back to it, but it may be some time late this coming week. In the interim, if you want you can post to the WikiProject talk page, and see if a botanist will also lend some expert help. Thanks, Hamamelis (talk) 09:17, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I made some edits to the article, see what you think - you have been doing a great job with it! I like it a lot, and it was most needed (common bamboo without an article for this long? Amazing!). One thing, I put in a lot of synonyms, but you show B. surinamensis as a synon. If it is indeed a synon, we need to place it in its proper place in the taxobox, and it needs to have a ref placed in the synonyms_ref entry section of the taxobox. I imagine it is one of the books you have cited where you found it. Forget that last part, I see it was one of the ones I added from Tropicos :) Thanks! Hamamelis (talk) 18:21, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

WikiProject Wikify Discussion Invitation

Hi there! You are receiving this message because you are a participant of WikiProject Wikify. After the retirements of our first two executive coordinators, Mono and Guoguo12, WikiProject Wikify is undergoing a period of transition. We are currently holding a discussion to create a plan for the future, find volunteers to help fill our many administrative positions, collect any feedback about what has happened in the last six months, propose some new guidelines, and see if there are any creative ideas to increase participation. We appreciate your input!

File:Kiki Håkansson in Miss World 1951.jpg listed for deletion

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Kiki Håkansson in Miss World 1951.jpg, has been listed at Misplaced Pages:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Non-free rationale for File:Sharmila tagore in bikini.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Sharmila tagore in bikini.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. damiens.rf 13:43, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Sharmila tagore in bikini.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Sharmila tagore in bikini.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Misplaced Pages may not meet the criteria required by Misplaced Pages:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Misplaced Pages:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. damiens.rf 04:21, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

File:FourFavorites3101.jpg

It's not an "Archie comic" (which is why I didn't understand your question the first time you asked). It's just evidence that the bikini was known about in the U.S. in 1947, and it wasn't considered inconceivable that high-school girls there would sometimes wear it. This is also a free image... Removal of maintenance tags / restoration of unsourced material in Thong (clothing)

Your edit summary said "way too many banners screaming the same message, removed some of the redundant" - in that case, you should remove the improperly sourced / unsourced material rather than only what you perceive to be exraneous maintenance tags.

Under no circumstances should you ever restore unsourced material that has been removed unless you are supplying citations from reliable sources. I'm sure you know our policies around those areas, and your edits appear to be in conflict with them. The threshold for inclusion in Misplaced Pages is verifiability. December 2011

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Bikini. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Misplaced Pages's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Toddst1 (talk) 14:09, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

I posted for a discussion User talk:Beyond My Ken, Talk:Bikini and Misplaced Pages talk:Manual of Style/Images. and I did request for discussions every time I reverted, which didn't happen. I did post my concerns before reverting, while the other party went on to revert my other edits without participating in the discussion. It was natural to assume that the other party isn't interested in discussion, and okay to make another revert. The other party's answer to his talk page, which ended in - "I'm not interested in hearing from you, since your interest seems entirely selfish and not focused on improving the encyclopedia" - made that assumption even more natural.
You seem to have forgotten the very beginning of the relevant guideline - "An edit war occurs when editors who disagree about the content of a page repeatedly override each other's contributions, rather than trying to resolve the disagreement by discussion." (WP:WAR) I also have noted with some curiosity that while you templated me, you have done no such thing to the other party. I also was quite curious to see that you didn't find - "You've done it to Bikini and Bikini variant and Thong (clothing)-- which I didn't revert because it's already garabage. You apparently think you know what a good image is; you're wrong, but I can't be bothered to spend the time necessary to tutor you about what is a good image and what is bad" - to be a personal attack, especially because the relevant guideline is summarized as - "Comment on the content, not on the contributor". (WP:PERSONAL)
I have posted this to my talk page as well. I'm really surprised at this action. Can you, please, explain where I'm wrong? Aditya 15:54, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
Edit warring is edit warring. Toddst1 (talk) 18:31, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
And, no edit war is no edit war. Aditya 08:55, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Explanation: if you disagree with another editor about something, it should only be reverted once. WP:BRD, while not an official policy is good advice. After the reversion start a discussion on the talk page. If you can't come to agreement and think you're right, try to get more editors to participate using some form of content WP:DR like WP:DRN or WP:RFC. Nobody Ent 13:08, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

hi aditya. toddst1 doesnt think you understand that you were doing edit warring. i think according to wikipedia it counts as edit warring no matter who is right. you didnt actually edit war since you didnt break that 3RR rule but i think its important to him that you understand that you AND beyond my ken were both edit warring or about to edit war or something. even though you were right, the correct procedure is that you get consensus on the talk page and get other people involved, when you have a problematic behavior like beyond my ken did. i think so anyway. Bouket (talk) 19:51, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
Bouket, I' don't think you're helping here and in fact you are dead wrong. From WP:EW

"An edit war occurs when editors who disagree about the content of a page repeatedly override each other's contributions, rather than trying to resolve the disagreement by discussion. Edit warring is unconstructive and creates animosity between editors, making it harder to reach a consensus. Users who engage in edit wars risk being blocked or even banned. ... The three revert rule is a convenient limit for occasions when an edit war is happening fairly quickly, but it is not a definition of what "edit warring" means, and it is perfectly possible to edit war without breaking the three revert rule, or even coming close to doing so."

Toddst1 (talk) 19:56, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
how am i dead wrong? i said its important that he understands that both he and BMK are edit warring. am i not understanding something? Bouket (talk) 20:06, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
Yes. Both parties were edit warring. That's very different from saying "you didnt actually edit war since you didnt break that 3RR rule" as you did above. Toddst1 (talk) 20:37, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
Of course, by repeatedly you mean "more than once"/"twice or more", which renders 3RR quite irrelevant though. And, starting a discussion on the second revert doesn't even count, especially when a "regular" editor decides not to discuss. Warning only one of the parties involved and ignoring the other's personal attack makes it easier to reach a consensus, especially when uninvolved editors agree to the version of the party warned. Yes, yes, I get it. No wonder the number of active Wikipedians are not growing and only a handful of new volunteers are joining in. A brilliant way to nurture a community, I'm sure. Aditya 02:54, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Please notify involved editors that you bring to administrative noticeboards

Apparently you missed the giant orange box at the top of the editing screen for ANI:

Template:Editnotices/You should notify any user that you discuss

Please be more careful. Toddst1 (talk) 18:23, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Are you talking about this page? Where did you find giant orange box? Please, be more civil towards other editors, even when they don't have the blocking right. Aditya 11:48, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Nobody is being the least bit uncivil towards you - the warning(s) above are pretty standard. As per the big orange box on ANI what you see when you try to EDIT that page, and per the notification at the top of the page to begin with, you MUST notify any editor you report. ANY editor, including an admin, would be fully within their right to put the exact same warning on your page. For crying out loud, you've been here over 3 years - you're no newbie, and you've been templated before! (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:03, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
I seriously hope you know what you are doing. Aditya 12:14, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

You should get this: ] when you click the "Edit this Page" tab and the box shown above should be at top. Is that what you're seeing? Nobody Ent 13:22, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Aditya, this is a real issue and yes, we are very serious. We do know what we're doing and as BWilkins said, nobody is being the least bit uncivil towards you.
However you have transgressed a number of policies back to back and the kindest way I can think of to describe your lack of notification here is "very discourteous." I strongly suggest you start looking at your own actions much more closely, stop trying to project these problems onto others and take responsibility for your actions. hi

i tried to help out but i just made the people involved angry with me. i dont know what we can do here, but at least we got toddst1 to admit both of you were edit warring. i still dont know why he thought its ok for an established editor to edit war, but ok. lets move on. sorry i couldnt help more. are you going to continue to edit here? Bouket (talk) 06:32, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Of course, I'll continue. Misplaced Pages foundation owns this encyclopaedia, and then it's owned by us, common editors. We create the articles, we expand them, we cite the information, and we cross-reference the content. It's us, and that is the whole idea of the project. It's the biggest bestest encyclopaedia ever because we don't give up or give in. Looking forward to working with you in a non-conflictive situation. BTW, I have no particular area of interest, and you can ask my participation for any article you are working on. Research and citation is what I do best (though there are awesome editors who surpass me by far in that area). Aditya 06:45, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
i dont edit a lot and i feel like editing less since now i think a user is stalking my edits. this has all been really discouraging. but maybe ill become positive again. i started editing because this site has such a bad reputation but has so much potential i wanted to see if i could help. nice to meet you though. Bouket (talk) 06:47, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
oh and thanks for your kind offer Bouket (talk) 06:55, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
No, dear. Don't be so discouraged. In fact, MBK has been a valiant editor making thousands of edits to improve Misplaced Pages and Toddst1 has been protecting the project from various kinds of maledits for a long time. Both are highly laudable editors. No one is perfect, and both may have been wrong or even abusive here and there without even realizing the mistake. But, Misplaced Pages works. Check this signpost article. And, hey, let's not keep grudges. What's a large community without a few conflicts? It's all part of the process. Cheers, and I mean it. Aditya 06:56, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
i guess but it feels so conrfontational when people should be trying to help each other instead Bouket (talk) 07:22, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Worry not. You'll be really surprised at the amount of help that's available here. Not all the time, not everywhere, but it's there. Misplaced Pages community is like any other big community. I have met the worst of jerks here, including admins getting kicked out of the project, and I have seen the best of golden hearted too, including people who learned a specific subject overnight just to help another editor. Keep faith, dear. Aditya 07:41, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Jayne Mansfield article

I took a close look at the article and made several minor copy edits. The text seems to flow well enough, although there are many run-on sentences. This is due to the small 'edit war' going on, with editors trying to cram a lot of information into a single 'referenced' sentence. I untangled some of those. Let me know if you need further help with the article. Meclee (talk) 19:43, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi Aditya,

I'm really hard pressed for time. Not able to find enough time to address my various arguments, including with you. :) So my contribution to your quest is to provide a section missing vide Plant MOS - Description. However the urls are barebones and you will need to cloak them with cite webs. Ask for help in general WikiProjects Plants and India. You may like to ask User:Shyamal too for his opinion. Sorry cant help more at this stage. Hope it helps. Will pay more attention later when I'm free. AshLin (talk) 14:23, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Perhaps you did not notice in the taxobox that arundinacea is a synonym for vulgaris? See ref three of the article. The redirect "arundinacea" goes to "bambos" which is also without reference. Vide ref 3 both are in fact synonyms of "B. vulgaris". Please restore my description. AshLin (talk) 12:05, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Peer review limits changed

This is a notice to all users who currently have at least one open peer review at Misplaced Pages:Peer review. Because of the large number of peer review requests and relatively low number of reviewers, the backlog of PRs has been at 20 or more almost continually for several months. The backlog is for PR requests which have gone at least four days without comments, and some of these have gone two weeks or longer waiting for a review.

While we have been able to eventually review all PRs that remain on the backlog, something had to change. As a result of the discussion here, the consensus was that all users are now limited to one (1) open peer review request.

If you already have more than one open PR, that is OK in this transition period, but you cannot open any more until all your active PR requests have been closed. If you would like someone to close a PR for you, please ask at Misplaced Pages talk:Peer review. If you want to help with the backlog, please review an article whoe PR request is listed at Misplaced Pages:Peer review/backlog/items. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>° 01:25, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
