Naming convention discussion

Hello Panonian. This message is just to alert you that a discussion on translations for non-Slavic persons from Yugoslavia and successor states is set to take place. There is a reason I am informing you. The disputes where I have been involved have concerned editors removing Slavic (mainly Cyrillic) translations from persons born on the territory; this has now happened so many times that the matter is expected to be dealt by mediation. Now it will not surprise you to know that opponents to this practice are the ethnic Albanian editors who somehow feel that when a subject of theirs be born in or will have lived on any former Yugoslav territory, the Cyrillic/Slavic variation is not relevant. To that end, you would think that opponents of the Slavic language translations would be presenting a case whereby they believe the ethnic Albanian nation to be exempt from such presentations. However, judging by the title Misplaced Pages:Requests for mediation/Naming conventions of non-Slavic personalities that were born or lived in former Yugoslavia, it would appear that all non-Slavic subjects are the topic to the debate and the region in question is all of the former Yugoslavia. In other words, this will affect Vojvodina as well. At present, all Hungarian, Romanian, Roma and other non-Slavic subjects have a Serbian or Serbo-Croat name form. If the outcome be to have translations removed, it will become procedure to remove translations on everyone from Janika Balázs to Sándor Páll. As you watch many of the pages close to Vojvodina, I thought you may be interested. If you'd like to join the debate, just add your name to the request for mediation link posted above. Thanks. Religion in Serbia bar box

PANONIAN, you asked me not to change the numbers in table, which is OK if you though rounding the numbers up (like from 84.98), but what about undeclared, irreligious and others? They are clearly included in Serbian census from 2002, as seen in Book 3: "Confession, Mother Tongue and National Identity or Ethnicity According to Age and Gender – Data by Municipalities", which can be read on . In the case you did not noticed, your addition of this data was not visible in the table in your article version: (and why including into article something that is not visible?). If you want to include this data into article, please do it correctly. PANONIAN 17:31, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
