Articles for Creation urgently needs YOUR help!

Articles for Creation is desperately short of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors, in reviewing submissions in the pending submissions queue. Currently there are 1839 submissions waiting to be reviewed and many help requests at our Help Desk.

Do you have what it takes?
  1. Are you familiar with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines?
  2. Do you know what Misplaced Pages is and is not?
  3. Do you have a working knowledge of the Manual of Style, particularly article naming conventions?
  4. Are you autoconfirmed?
  5. Can you review submissions based on their individual merits?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. You might wish to add {{AFC status}} or {{AfC Defcon}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions.

PS: we have a great AFC helper script at User:Timotheus Canens/afchelper4.js which helps in reviewing in just few edits easily!

We would greatly appreciate your help. Currently, only a small handful of users are reviewing articles. Any help, even if it's just 2 or 3 reviews, it would be extremely beneficial.
On behalf of the Articles for Creation project,

Wikiproject Watchlist for Canadianlaw

Sorry for disturbing yo again. Any idea why this s not working: Misplaced Pages:WikiProject_Canadian_law#Wikiproject_Watchlist Ottawahitech (talk) 01:19, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi, no worries. So the reason that doesn't work is because {{WikiProject Canadian law}} doesn't exist. The way to do it in this case, would be to use a category, however Category:WikiProject Canadian law doesn't contain all the articles in the project (like how Category:WikiProject Artemis Fowl does as an example). I could fix this by editing {{WikiProject Canada}} to have all "Canadian law" tagged pages fall into that category, however it would be best to check with the WikiProject if that is ok. why my references are not adequqte?

I did not decline it because of references, but because of its notability. Please see WP:BIO. Legoktm (talk) 08:21, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

A page you started has been reviewed!

Thanks for creating Superpipe skiing, XK8ER!
I'm marking this article as reviewed, however I would appreciate it if you would fix up the references section to use inline references
yes sorry about that, just updated the page can you double check it XK8ER (talk) 18:36, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
I noticed that you moved the (superpipe skiing) page into (halfpipe skiing) both are different sports the halfpipe skiing is usually on a 16ft halfpipe and superpipe is usually on a 24ft halfpipe.. different tricks too since in the small one you cannot go as high.. its a bit like the Mega ramp and the mini mega ramp.. different heights and tricks.. the X Games page shows winter x games only for superpipe and not halfpipe.. XK8ER (talk) 20:51, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
Right. After doing more research on it, I realized that there was more content out there on half-pipe skiing now that it is becoming an olympic sport, and that superpipe skiing is technically a subset of halfpipe skiing (based on the fact that superpipes are a subset of halfpipes). I was planning on splitting it into a "superpipe" section, but I had to go to class and didn't get to finish it. I'll try and work on it (among the 100 other things I have to do) tonight. DYK for Ice Cream (Hyuna song)

Updated DYK queryOn 5 November 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Ice Cream (Hyuna song), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that in "Ice Cream" by Hyuna, Psy makes a cameo appearance and starts the music video eating ice cream cones? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ice Cream (Hyuna song). You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

image policy

What was the policy based argument for removal of the image in cute? Cesiumfrog (talk) 16:04, 27 October 2012 (UTC)

Aye, please elaborate on the policy involved. The lack of consensus is only going to persist so long as the discussion remains a back-and-forth between the two sides, but more voices on the issue itself should help to actually resolve it and you are in a position to contribute. -— Isarra 20:14, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
Sure, it probably would have been better had I given an extended rationale at that time. I'm a bit busy right now, but I will try and leave a note there today evening. Legoktm (talk) 13:53, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
Argh. I never got back to this. Sorry about that. I'll go and do that today evening. Thanks for the reminder. Legoktm (talk) 00:29, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

Ticker symbols in article leads and next steps

Hi. I'm contacting you as you participated in the policy village pump discussion regarding ticker symbols in article leads.

I've posted a section here about next steps to take, specifically examining whether an RFC is needed to reach a clear consensus on this issue. If you have the time and/or inclination to weigh in, please do! --MZMcBride (talk) 18:43, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

The Archive index isn't showing up on this page as "Index", instead it is showing up as Wikilinked "Archive" in that side Archive-box. Is there any way to make it so the Index is the Index rather than appearing as Archive? Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 16:36, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

I think so. Does this do what you wanted? Legoktm (talk) 17:03, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
Actually I just re-read what you wrote. How does this look? Legoktm (talk) 17:09, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
Much better. It just struck me that naming it as 'Archive' won't necessarily point new users to the Index - I think the combined title works better. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 17:33, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks!

Cklenfner (talk) 21:14, 8 November 2012 (UTC)Hi Legoktm, Not sure if you were the editing user on one of the tags on the page, but I'm trying to track down why the tag says: "The specific problem is: Copy and paste erros. (October 2012)" I can't find those errors -- and I've looked through it again and again. Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated. And if it wasn't you and I'm in the wrong place, then I apologize. Thank you for any help you can offer!

Cklenfner (talk) 21:14, 8 November 2012 (UTC)cklenfner

Doesn't look like it was me who added those tags, I believe it was Kurepalaku. I looked over the article, and I'm not specifically sure what they're referring to. Good luck, and let me know if you need any more help! Legoktm (talk) 21:16, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Cheek pouch

Updated DYK queryOn 9 November 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Cheek pouch, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that some hamsters hide their young in their cheek pouches to carry them when they fear danger? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Cheek pouch. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Alex Prescott

I'm confused. If I'm writing about an author, and the only thing I can find on the author is the author's work in unrelated third party sources, does that not count? In my case, I've referenced both wildside press and paradox magazine, both have wikipedia pages, but an author published by said sources cannot have a wiki page? Please explain. What am I doing wrong? I've referenced the author's work. What more do I need? And yes, I've read the Wiki stuff for beginners. I believe I've followed this, and have yet to be shown how I'm not. I've referenced the author's work. References are verifiable.Alex Prescott (talk) 16:05, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
