Incorrect Statement:
"Organic foods are those that are produced using environmentally sound methods..." the rest of the sentence is correct, however the use of predators rather than pesticides has its' own significant threats to the environment. Furthermore organic and synthetic pesticides are currently held to the same environmental impact standards, the higher standards for organic insecticides are on its production basis, ie. that it is not synthetic...the fact that something is synthetic does not inherently make it worse for the environment, this is often the case, but for example potato blight in Ireland was a completely organic event, which actually in modern times could likely have been prevented by synthetic compounds.

Many organic farmers do independently adhere to higher environmental safety standards, and because of this they are likely overall less damaging on the environment, however the fact that something is organic or not does not inherently make its production more environmentally sound, if there is tangible scientific evidence of this i would like to see...
thanks

- fun fact organic commercial bananas really should not be considered organic. Bananas naturally have large seeds making them terribly annoying to eat. Genetic modification was done to shrink the seeds to an almost invisible state, how they are now, in fact the seeds don't work, all commercial banana plants (perhaps theres an exception who sells seeded?) are clones.
