Notice of Dispute resolution discussion

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Misplaced Pages:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute in which you may have been involved. Content disputes can hold up article development, therefore we are requesting your participation to help find a resolution. The thread is "Juan Manuel de Rosas".

Guide for participants

If you wish to open a DR/N filing, click the "Request dispute resolution" button below this guide or go to Misplaced Pages:Dispute resolution noticeboard/request for an easy to follow, step by step request form.

What this noticeboard is:
  • It is an early step to resolve content disputes after talk page discussions have stalled. If it's something we can't help you with, or is too complex to resolve here, our volunteers will point you in the right direction.
What this noticeboard is not:
  • It is not a place to deal with the behavior of other editors. We deal with disputes about article content, not disputes about user conduct.
  • It is not a place to discuss disputes that are already under discussion at other dispute resolution forums.
  • It is not a substitute for the talk pages: the dispute must have been discussed extensively on a talk page (not just through edit summaries) before resorting to DRN.
  • It is not a court with judges or arbitrators that issue binding decisions: we focus on resolving disputes through consensus, compromise, and explanation of policy.
Things to remember:
  • Discussions should be civil, calm, concise, neutral, and objective. Comment only about the article's content, not the other editors. Participants who go off-topic or become uncivil may be asked to leave the discussion.
  • Let the other editors know about the discussion by posting {{subst:drn-notice}} on their user talk page.
  • Sign and date your posts with four tildes "~~~~".
  • If you ever need any help, ask one of our volunteers, who will help you as best as they can. You may also wish to read through the FAQ page located here and on the DR/N talkpage.

Please take a moment to review the simple guide and join the discussion. Thank you! EarwigBot  20:21, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your review, now I have fulfilled the QPQ requirement, would you check again? (Detrás de Mi Ventana). Jaespinoza (talk) 20:53, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

Formal mediation has been requested

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "Juan Manuel de Rosas". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 22 January 2013.

Discussion relating to the mediation request is welcome at the case talk page. Thank you.
Message delivered by MediationBot (talk) on behalf of the Mediation Committee. 14:37, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

I request that you respond to the request for mediation when you are next online, or at least consider other steps of the dispute resolution process that you can take in order to resolve the disagreement concerning Juan Manuel de Rosas. As you know, editors of Misplaced Pages have a duty to engage in dispute resolution and consensus-building discussion when their edits are challenged. Your edits have been challenged. If there is anything I can do to assist you with responding to the mediation request, please let me know. Regards, AGK 15:56, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
Dear Cambalachero, while I cannot deter you from participating in Lecen's RfM, please take note of my response to kind AGK () prior to making a decision. I firmly believe that Lecen, by this point, is simply WP:GAMING the system to get his way through one form or another. Regards.--MarshalN20 | 21:51, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Greetings fellow "South American Nationalist"

Sorry couldn't resist, I was immensely amused, I may even create a userbox to commemorate the occasion. Regards, fellow conspirator. Wee Curry Monster talk 22:49, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Just in case, Wee refers to this quote () from our friend from Ipanema.--MarshalN20 | 23:13, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I know, things like these happen from time to time. I reverted a vandalism once and got accused of being Kirchnerist, and another time someone thought that I was from the US Cambalachero (talk) 01:16, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
I did comment at DRN on his comments on Rosas. A literal translation of Caudillo into English is of course dictator but that doesn't reflect the range of opinion on Rosas. Sorry I have not commented further as I don't wish to get into another confrontation with Lecen but if you have further issues please feel free to ask my opinion. I know how it can feel to be alone in a confrontation with a disruptive single minded POV pusher and will gladly help if I can. Wee Curry Monster talk 22:02, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Caudillo democracy

Cambalachero, this source may prove useful in your mediated discussion with Lecen (). The Life and Death of Democracy by John Keane (political theorist). Particularly important are pages 414 and 415, which demonstrate the controversial nature of Rosas as a "democratic caesar". Given that it's in English, and written by a well-known political theorist, it may help the mediator get a better understanding of the subject. Regards.--MarshalN20 | 01:42, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Thank you; but I requested Lecen to avoid using user's talk pages to continue the discussion outside the special page for it. Needless to say, I shall proceed with the same policy I'm requesting him (I only made an exception for the previous one because it was basically unrelated). I hope you will understand, and thanks for your interest. Cambalachero (talk) 01:49, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
I understand. Please do tell me how everything ends up. All the best.--MarshalN20 | 01:53, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Repatriation of Juan Manuel de Rosas's body

Updated DYK queryOn 20 January 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Repatriation of Juan Manuel de Rosas's body, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the controversial Argentine governor Juan Manuel de Rosas, who died in Southampton in 1877, was repatriated over a century later? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Repatriation of Juan Manuel de Rosas's body. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Request for mediation accepted

The request for formal mediation of the dispute concerning Juan Manuel de Rosas, in which you were listed as a party, has been accepted by the Mediation Committee. The case will be assigned to an active mediator within two weeks, and mediation proceedings should begin shortly thereafter. Proceedings will begin at the case information page, Misplaced Pages:Requests for mediation/Juan Manuel de Rosas, so please add this to your watchlist. Formal mediation is governed by the Mediation Committee and its Policy. The Policy, and especially the first two sections of the "Mediation" section, should be read if you have never participated in formal mediation. For a short guide to accepted cases, see the "Accepted requests" section of the Guide to formal mediation. You may also want to familiarise yourself with the internal Procedures of the Committee.

As mediation proceedings begin, be aware that formal mediation can only be successful if every participant approaches discussion in a professional and civil way, and is completely prepared to compromise. Please contact the Committee if anything is unclear.

Notification of discussion

A few months ago, you participated in a discussion on Misplaced Pages talk:Did you know about Gibraltar-related DYKs on the Main Page. I am proposing that the temporary restrictions on such DYKs, which were imposed in September 2012, should be lifted and have set out a case for doing so at Misplaced Pages talk:Did you know/Gibraltar-related DYKs. If you have a view on this, please comment at that page. Prioryman (talk) 21:59, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

2011 Premios Fuse TV

Hi. As you're an active member of the Uruguay wikiproject, I hope you can help me with this. I've been working on List of awards and nominations received by Adele and I'm came across one section which claims she won two awards at the 2011 Premios Fuse TV, which is supposedly hosted by a TV channel in Montevideo called Fuse TV. However, I've been unable to find any reliable sources to confirm this award show (or this TV channel) even exist! Needless to say, I suspect this page is a hoax. What's your opinion - have you ever heard of these? Cheers, ★ Bald Zebra ★  11:34, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Greetings, I see that you have removed my contribution to the AMIA Bombing Misplaced Pages page. Apologies if this contravened the rules. I am somewhat new to this. I will re-enter a contribution without copy and paste of referenced document. Many Thanks Johnannes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Johanne Johannes (talkcontribs) 17:36, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Question

Did I offend any of your sensibilities with my comments on that talk page? I think your tone indicated that what you felt and wanted to say was more than you actually did say... In any case, I'm sorry for anything already. I often make dumb points here. Lguipontes (talk) 14:15, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
