Sorry I didn't know if you should be included in this or not but since you have said quite a bit in the realavant talk pages and handled the informal mediation, I included you.

Your interventions

I see that you've been here for only a couple of months; that probably explains much of what's happened in the two cases involving me in which you've intervened. I strongly suggest that you get to know the project better before intervening in other disputes.

I consider, in any case, the Mediation cabal to be a deeply flawed notion, providing little more than a chance for disgruntled editors to try to get their own way when they know that the official/standard channels wouldn't get them anywhere. My three personal experiences of it so far have served only to confirm that view. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 14:13, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

  1. If you think that any of the above constitutes biting, you may have some rude shocks in store from other editors (though I hope that you don't). In any case, you chose to intervene in two disputes; if you think of yourself as a newcomer who shouldn't be bitten, then why did you do that?
  2. I carefully didn't say that you chose to mediate; you looked at the pages and issued your verdicts, all without discussing the matter with the participants (or even informing one of them). Mediation can indeed be a good way to proceed, when the parties are involved, and attempts are made to achieve consensus or compromise. My irritation with what actually happened was, I think, justified.
  3. I'm happy, however, to drop the matter and put it behind us. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 14:52, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
